In my view, the fictional hero is comparable with Clint Eastwood’s Dirty Harry. #2 Resident Evil of 1996 Revisited – Thirty years ago this month, Capcom released Resident Evil on PlayStation (followed by the Windows PC and Sega Saturn versions) and it became a big hit with gamers and critics. Since then, the Resident Evil games grew into a popular multimedia entertainment franchise and it is easily one of the most significant game franchises of all time. The 1996 original game was a successful experiment and it had a lot of content that added to its replay value. Times like these, it is important to revisit the first-ever Resident Evil game and I found a very comprehensive video about it which you can watch below.
#3 Fast Food In 1980s America – When I first visited the United States of America in 1989, me and my relatives had lots of fast food stops as we moved from one state to another by car. We had a nice variety of meals from food joints like Carl’s Jr., Burger King, McDonald’s, and Taco Bell to name some. I also had fast food stops when I revisited America in 1997, 2001, 2008 and 2011 but those experiences never matched the food stop experiences I had in 1989. #4 How Las Vegas Joints Scam Customers Without Breaking Laws – When I visited Las Vegas in 2011, I did not enjoy it that much because almost everything around me was too expensive. We stayed at a hotel along the famous Las Vegas strip which meant we were literally trapped by high rates here and there. Al Pacino will forever be remembered as Michael Corleone while the late Robert Duvall was very memorable playing the great lawyer Tom Hagen. A few years ago, You, Me and the Movies took the effort to watch and react to The Godfather, The Godfather Part II and The Godfather Part III. #6 Ashleigh Burton Reacts To Annie – I never saw the 1982 musical film Annie in the cinema. As a young boy back then, I do remember the strong marketing and promotion of the movie prior to its release. A short time after its theatrical run, there were people in our local community singing “Tomorrow, Tomorrow, I Love You, Tomorrow, You’re Always A Day Away” and citing lines from the movie. Historically, Annie was not exactly a gigantic hit and it was made with a very large budget of $35 million. Southie Fest, a special event organized by South Snippets and its strategic partners, formally opened yesterday at the Carousel area of Festival Mall in Filinvest City, Alabang. A showcase of varied products and services offered by mostly business joints of the south, Southie Fest will last until Sunday (March 15).
I personally witnessed the opening of Southie Fest. There was a panel discussion wherein three local entrepreneurs shared insight about their respective businesses, how they managed their enterprise through the years, and what they learned from the many local communities of the south. South Snippets co-founder Donna Santiago was with them and she also shared insight about the organization’s drive of promoting businesses and connecting them with people of the South. Santiago confirmed that she is organizing South Snippets full-time.

I had a very tasty avocado shake there at Southie Fest. This one costs P120 and it is of very good quality.
Within the Carousel area – 2nd floor specifically – are lots of booths/stalls of varied local businesses offering customers a wide range of selections of food, beverages, accessories, collectibles, clothing, gift items, handcrafted items, services and a lot more. You really have to be there to truly discover them.

Today, a “Southie Community Day” session will take place which will emphasize he community members and local digital trendsetters. It will help people understand who the Southie influencers and content creators are and what they do to inspire the community as they promote their respective platforms. On Sunday, the “Southie Family Day” will wrap up the event. Participants can dive into a variety of interactive workshops, creative classes, and community workout sessions. There will lots of things or experiences that participants can discover, and even learn from.

Having been to the Subic Bay Freeport Zone many times already, the former US Naval base has been a strong engine for tourism, commerce and investments for the Philippines over the decades. Each time I visited, there was also something new to discover and the economic modernization happened gradually.
In a serious bid to enhance investments and accelerate the growth of tourism, the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) announced that it has teamed up with the Leechiu Property Consultants (LPC) and their officials had important talks recently.
To put things in perspective, posted below is an excerpt from the official announcement of the SBMA. Some parts in boldface…
Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) officials met with executives of Leechiu Property Consultants (LPC) to explore collaborative initiatives to accelerate tourism growth and investment promotion here.
Led by SBMA Business and Investment Group’s Senior Deputy Administrator (SDA) Renato Lee III, discussions focused on expanding high-impact tourism segments including cruise ship tourism, wreck diving, forest trails, and Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) activities.
David Lee-Chiu, CEO of Leechiu Property Consultants highlighted Subic Bay’s deep-water port and strategic location as key advantages in positioning the Freeport as a competitive cruise ship destination in Luzon.
Lee-Chiu also noted that increased cruise calls would drive growth across hospitality, retail, transport, and local enterprises.
Meanwhile, SBMA Chairman and Administrator Eduardo Jose L. Alino also mentioned “wreck diving” as a strong niche market, with Subic Bay’s historic shipwrecks that continue to attract both domestic and international divers.
Also discussed was the development and promotion of forest trails and eco-tourism experiences, recognizing Subic Bay Freeport’s protected forest areas as prime assets for sustainable tourism, nature-based recreation, and eco-adventure activities.

For decades, the Subic Bay Freeport Zone has been a hot spot of commerce, tourism and varied types of businesses which resulted in the creation of new jobs. Recently, the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) officially confirmed that the Freeport workforce exceeded 170,000 in 2025 which is an improvement of over 4% compared with 2024.

The workforce in the country’s premier Freeport totaled 171,653 in 2025, according to the annual report by the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA).
According to a report from the SBMA Labor Department, this figure reflects a 4.4 percent increase from last year’s 164,400 recorded in 2024.
SBMA Chairman and Administrator Eduardo Jose L. Aliño said that the increase in the number of workers here results from President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s mandate to provide more employment opportunities for Filipinos.
He said that Olongapo City remains the biggest source of manpower, with 70,769 residents working here. He added that this was followed by Zambales with 31,621; Bataan with 22,897; National Capital Region with 7,077; Pampanga with 5,492; Tarlac with 2,199; and the remaining 31,598 from other parts of the country, including foreign workers.
Around 70.60 percent of workers, or 121,187, are male, while the remaining 29.40 percent, or 50,466 workers, are female, and employed by 4,744 Subic companies. Despite the disparity, female workers outnumbered male workers in the manufacturing sector, with 18,951 females and 18,242 males employed across 111 manufacturing companies in Subic.
Meanwhile, the Subic Bay Freeport’s services sector remains the biggest employer, which clocked at 67.32 percent of the workforce, with the manufacturing sector making up 21.67 percent. These are followed by the construction sector with 7.36 percent, and shipbuilding/marine-related services with 3.64 percent.
Aliño added that the services sector also has the biggest number of companies, with 4,129, followed by the construction sector with 356 companies, then shipbuilding/ marine-related services with 148 companies, and lastly the manufacturing sector with 111 companies.
He further said that more companies are still looking for employees, thru the SBMA Labor Department’s regular conduct of job fairs and posting job openings via online portals and bulletin boards at their offices near the Subic Bay Gym.
“Jobseekers can click on the SBMA Career Portal, where we provide an official list of vacancies from various Freeport locators. We encourage applicants to check the Subic Gym bulletin board for scheduled examinations and interviews,” he said.

#3 The Wholesome Hotel In Las Vegas – The first time I ever visited Las Vegas was in 1989. I was only 13-years-old back then and our family stayed in Circus Circus Hotel and Casino. Even though the hotel had gambling joints within, I still noticed how family-friendly the place was as it had an indoor circus venue, circus games, makeshift museums and a video arcade (where I played many classic arcade games). If there were any significant changes that happened through the decades, it would be the presence of an indoor amusement park with rides which reflects the hotel’s focus on attracting families and tourists who have limited budgets. #4 Rushed And Incomplete RPGs – If there is any way to quickly describe a role-playing game (RPG) in video game format, it would be the fact that it was made to be lengthy and have a lot of content created for it. Like what happened in movies, productions of RPGs face similar problems with regards to lacking time and/or money which in turn would force the game makers to cut down their designs just to complete it. In the history of video games, the first PlayStation console was rich with RPGs in the late 1990s. Some of them turned out to be rushed and incomplete. #1 Dead Rising Revisited – I can hardly believe that it will be twenty years since I first play Dead Rising on a rented Xbox 360 console. Released by Capcom in August 2006, Dead Rising is a zombie apocalypse adventure game developed by a Japanese team with Keiji Inafune (Mega Man) as producer. As its story was mainly set in a shopping mall, the game was easily compared with the Dawn of the Dead movies. When I first played it, I was hooked as the gameplay was pretty playable and the in-game action was entertainingly exaggerated. That said, now is a good time to revisit Dead Rising with the video below.
#2 The Binions In Las Vegas –I have toured Las Vegas twice in my life. Still, I never actually visited Binion’s Gambling Hall and Hotel which is located in Downtown Las Vegas on the Fremont Street Experience. Historically, it is know as the place where the World Series of Poker started and it had a unique gambling atmosphere with classic table games and low-limit slots. However, if you look even deeper into the history of the Binions place and the family that originally owned, there is something darker and intriguing to discover. #3 Night Of The Living Dead (1968) Revisited – What is there to say about the original Night of the Living Dead movie from 1968? The George Romero-directed zombie apocalypse movie has long been declared as the most definitive zombie horror movie and was considered as the turning point in horror film-making. As such, it is not surprising to see the movie (in public domain since the beginning) featured in multiple movie reaction videos and retrospective videos on YouTube. #4 Notable Places Beneath Tokyo Tower – The last time I toured Japan was way back in 1997. During that same trip, I visited Tokyo Tower and enjoyed a fine view of the city several feet above ground. As our city tour moved on a somewhat tight schedule, I was not able to fully explore Tokyo Tower. #5 Street Fighter Alpha 2 SNES Version Examined – Back in 1996, I was an avid arcade gamer and Street Fighter Alpha 2 was my favorite among the many 2D fighting games available in local arcades. In late-1996, copies of Street Fighter Alpha 2 running on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) were displayed in game stores which caught my attention because I never expected the console to be capable of processing the game and making it playable (note: Street Fighter Alpha games of the time were prominently released on PlayStation and Sega Saturn). Even though it was never a massive blockbuster film, Escape From New York has some socially relevant themes and entertained people in different ways which explains why it has become the subject of many YouTube videos. #4 The Hidden Villages Of Japan – When it comes to exploring Japan, there are a lot of places to visit way outside of the metropolitan areas. Nippon TV recently posted a video about Japanese villages that have been hidden in the mountains of the central part of the country. These places have been well preserved and the same can be said about their culture and traditions. There is also the famous “Samurai Road” that is scenic and should interest people who enjoy traveling along mountain trails. Watch and enjoy the video below.
#5 A Look Back At Stardust Of Las Vegas – The first time I visited Las Vegas was in 1989, and I saw the Stardust Resort and Casino while riding the car. I never had the chance visit Stardust but I noticed its appearances on TV and movies. Opened in 1958 and closed in 2006, Stardust was indeed a lively establishment of the Las Vegas trip having attracted lots of tourists and gamblers. Its legacy, however, is not very pretty as there were lots of criminal elements and scandals that happened behind the scenes. To learn about the history of Stardust, watch the video below.
Darrell Johnson Bada and Anisha Eunice Caluya were crowned champions in the junior elite division of the National Age Group Triathlon (NAGT) at the Subic Bay Freeport Zone yesterday.
The 17-year-old Bada clocked 56 minutes and 57 seconds to finish the sprint race covering 750m swim, 18km bike and 5km run. The bike stage has a distance of 20km but was reduced due to a road repair.
Euan Arrow Ramos placed second with a time of 58:57 followed by Peter Sacho Del Rosario (59:12).
“I always give my best in every race, the goal is to win and I’m glad I did it,” said Bada, a Grade 12 student at Subic Colleges in Olongapo City.
“Last year, I was in the second pack. This year, I was in the first pack and eventually won the title,” added the gold medalist at the 2025 NTT Asia Triathlon Cup Subic Bay (SuBIT).
Caluya, on the other hand, registered the best time of 1:07:09 in the women’s division. Christy Ann Perez (1:07:56) and Aira Danara Gregorio (1:08:38) were second and third, respectively.
Meanwhile, Cebuanos Kim Andrew Remolino and Matthew Justine Hermosa had a 1-2 finish in the men’s elite division of the event supported by the Philippine Sports Commission, Gatorade, Western Guaranty Corporation, Z-Bitt and SBMA Tourism.
Remolino clocked 56:17 followed by Hermosa (56:21) and Dayshaun Karl Ramos (56:44).
“I came here prepared and I’m happy with the result,” said Remolino, who together with Hermosa will join the PRISAA Regional qualifying on March 13-14 in Tagbilaran City, Bohol.
Dhana Victoria Seda-Lomboy (1:07:49) and Lady Samantha Jhunace Corpuz (1:08:42) were the top two finishers in the women’s division of NAGT, Triathlon Philippines’ grassroots and talent identification program.
The Subic Bay leg of the 2026 National Age Group Triathlon (NAGT) series was supported by the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA), Funtastic Subic, Terrace Hotel Subic Bay, and Fitbar.
Diego Jose Dimayuga and Alaina Bouffaut of Get Coach’d Academy headed by Doray Ellis topped the super sprint U15 (13-15 years old) category of the opening leg of the 2026 National Age Group Triathlon (NAGT) series held at the Subic Bay Freeport Zone yesterday.
Dimayuga clocked 31:46 to win the gold medal in the boys division, while teammate Pio Mishael Gabriel placed second (33:31) followed by Joseph Ian Caluste of BE TRITANS (34:15).
Bouffaut and teammate Naomi Rozeboom also had a 1-2 finish in the girls division of the event sponsored by the Philippine Sports Commission, Gatorade, Western Guaranty Corporation, Z-Bitt and SBMA Tourism.
Bouffaut submitted the best time of 37:39. Rozeboom was second in 37.51, while Lauren Lee Tan placed third (37:55), beating Diego’s sister, Naomi Rosalie (37:56).
Dimayuga, the newest member of the national elite pool, and Bouffaut are scheduled to compete at the Asian Junior and U23 Championships on May 12-15 in Hong Kong.
In the super tri kids division, Marcus Jayden Balaquit of Wavemakers Swim Team and Danica Angodung were crowned champions in the 11-12 category.
Eli Juan Dela Cruz of Team Megawide and Ami Takei of Team Honu (9-10 years old); Ethan Geronimo of OJT and Francesca Bader Mendoza of Gas Coaching/Ace Seawolves (7-8 years old); and Jewel Hunter Galang and Ylianna Devera of TLTG (6 years old and under) were the other winners in the event organized by Triathlon Philippines (TriPhil) as part of its grassroots and talent identification program.

Along the way, Satan keeps on influencing people to become his agents of evil, lying and division. The chaos just goes on and on.
Being worldly is unholy. Wordliness – which includes wickedness, corruption, idolatry, homosexuality, immorality, dishonesty, theft and a lot more negative elements – is twisted and it often leads to deterioration, division and destruction. Is it any wonder why are there so many brainwashed and paid political activists causing chaos in societies? Why do you think Islamic terrorism keeps on happening? Why do you think the Islamo-Leftists keep on empowering mass migration, illegal immigration and multiculturalism against nations of the world? Did you notice people are being deceived by the zealots of social justice, identity politics, climate change, diversity and inclusion? Satan is responsible and he has a lot of the sinners, the lost, the anarchists and the terrorists who don’t even realize they are his pawns.
No matter what happens around us and to us, we the faithful should never lose hope and we should keep on moving forward in faith and with the Holy Spirit. Lord Jesus is our Savior, our Redeem and the Hope of ALL nations! No matter how much chaos happens to us, we should never lose faith in Him and we can do His will by spreading God’s Word. God is the eternal Creator and we should remember why He redeemed us with His Son Jesus.
We should always keep worshiping the Lord wholeheartedly. Worshiping God protects your heart from going astray. Worshiping and honoring Him puts us in His path and this includes the guiding light of the Holy Spirit which shows us the way to follow. Lord Jesus achieved victory over death as well as victory over evil.
The truth is this…Satan can be defeated by having uncompromising faith in the Lord, in His Word and following the ways and commands of the Lord. Lord Jesus Himself defeated Satan long ago and you can find out how in the bible verse below.
Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry. Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.”
But He answered and said,
“It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ”
Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written:
‘He shall give His angels charge over you,’
and,
‘In their hands they shall bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.’ ”
Jesus said to him,
“It is written again, ‘You shall not tempt the Lord your God.’ ”
Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.”
Then Jesus said to him,
“Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’ ”
Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him.

As seen in the above scripture, the Lord defeated Satan and by following Jesus and God’s Word, we can be protected from whatever attacks or tricks Satan throws at us the faithful. With the Lord, nothing is impossible!
Resisting the devil involves complete submission to God. Learn from the scripture below.
So be subject to God. Resist the devil [stand firm against him], and he will flee from you.
James 4:7 (AMPC)
It is clear that we the faithful should never open doors that lead to evil. We should follow the lead of the Holy Spirit and let it guide us so that we do not make mistakes. Never give any edge nor space to evil. Meanwhile, the lost, the chaotic and the unsaved who spent their lives committing evil under Satan’s influence still have time to turn around and come to Lord Jesus for submission and repentance. Jesus answered him,
I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, that unless a person is born again (anew, from above), he cannot ever see (know, be acquainted with, and experience) the kingdom of God.
John 3:3 (AMPC)
For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. For both He who sanctifies and those who are being sanctified are all of one, for which reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren, saying:
“I will declare Your name to My brethren;
In the midst of the assembly I will sing praise to You.”

“I will put My trust in Him.”
And again:
“Here am I and the children whom God has given Me.”
Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. For indeed He does not give aid to angels, but He does give aid to the seed of Abraham. Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted.

As seen above, there is indeed hope for the lost and unsaved to come to the Lord. This is why we are reminded to preach God’s Word to others and pray for them to realize the light of hope and salvation from Jesus. There are indeed a lot of people out there who rejected God or did not prioritize Him, but they have time to turn around and come to Him. After surrendering to Him, they will learn to praise, honor and thank Him eternally in His Kingdom. Learn from the scriptures below.

Our Lord is not just all-powerful. He is also a very caring and loving Lord, the most definitive Leader and Authority we can follow with all our hearts. For as long as our faith in Him remains uncompromising, Satan, the idols and his evil influence cannot win and will end up isolated with defeat. Those who are still trapped by Satan can be freed by leading them to Jesus for repentance, submission and hope. The Lord reigns eternally and we the faithful can help the lost and unsaved realize that! Learn from the scripture below.
The Lord reigns, let the earth rejoice; let the multitude of isles and coastlands be glad!
Clouds and darkness are round about Him [as at Sinai]; righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne.
Fire goes before Him and burns up His adversaries round about.

The hills melted like wax at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.
The heavens declare His righteousness, and all the peoples see His glory.

All the praise, all the glory, all the thanks and all the honor to God! We the faithful are eternally secured in Heaven as we are faithful Jesus our Lord and the Hope of all nations! We the faithful can help the lost and unsaved make their way to the Lord for light and hope they need.
From this point on, I would like to reach out to the lost and the unsaved people reading this. Are you frustrated with religion? Have you been living in bondage for too long? Did the atheists and secularists fool and abused you? Were you victimized by a religious fanatic? Have you been living as a homosexual or as a toxic person? Are you fed up with being promiscuous and living with sadness? Have you spent an entire life worshiping statues, statuettes, paintings and relics? Are you addicted to something for so long?
All of that darkness can end! How? You can save yourselves by submitting to the Lord willingly and realize He is the Light! No force and no coercion here. You have time and freedom to decide to receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior. For those who have decided to get born again now and gain salvation, please read the instructions and follow the prayer that I learned from a pastor.
Are you ready? Firstly, open your heart to the Lord and pray this simple prayer in sincerity from your heart:
Father God,
I thank You. I believe Jesus is Your Son. I believe that He died for me and redeemed me from all of my sins. He took my sins and, Father, thank You for loving me and You demonstrated Your love for me through Your Son Jesus Christ. Forgive me for all of my sins. Jesus, I open my heart to You. I welcome You to enter into my heart. I confess today that You are now my Lord and Savior. Thank You for forgiveness. I receive forgiveness. Thank You for Your blood that cleansed me from all of my sins. I will follow You, Jesus. Thank You for Your plan. I receive the Holy Spirit. And Holy Spirit, help me to follow the will of God in my life in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Congratulations! You are now a child of God! You have received Holy Spirit in your heart! This is easily your greatest decision ever made and also the greatest miracle of your life. Always praise, thank and honor the Lord. No more darkness in your life caused by politics, radicalism, toxicity, rebellion, religion, unbelief, evil, idolatry, traditions and rituals! Leave behind the darkness of your life and don’t look back to it. Remember that idolatry is evil, Purgatory is a lie, penance is a deception and Satan always used religion and unbelief to prevent people from being saved by the Lord.
With Lord Jesus, you are already moving forward and the best is yet to come! You also have a personal relationship with God, a relationship that is strictly off-limits to others (even to your household members or biological family members).
Now that you are living a new life as a Christian (devoted follower of Lord Jesus), I highly encourage you to visit Israel someday. It is in Israel where the Holy Land is, and you should go there to deepen your faith in the Lord. I myself had been to Israel and I brought the Holy Bible with me to many holy sites there such as Nazareth, Galilee and its sea, the Pool of Siloam, Magdala, Via Dolorosa in Jerusalem, the Upper Room, the Temple Mount, the Jordan River and the Southern Steps to name some. I did my part deepening my faith in our Lord and praying to Him. I also did my part blessing the Jewish people during my time there, and I assure you all that the ties between Jews and Christians are biblical. Go to Israel with the Holy Bible and pray for the peace of Jerusalem.
The Holy Bible is the ultimate authority and nothing else comes close to it for it is the Word of God. Remember always that Lord Jesus did not die on the cross to start religion. He died to redeem us all and showed that we must be led by faith in Him, faith in the Holy Spirit and faith in God the Heavenly Father. He rose from the dead and made His earthly presence felt once more to those who believed in Him. Lord Jesus ascended to Heaven and He promised to return in the future. His return is what we must always remember and keep on living with holiness under the watch of God. Living as a Christian is always about the personal relationship with the Lord, and it is certainly not about religion.
