#1 Xbox-related announcements at The Game Awards 2023 – The Game Awards 2023 edition took place recently and like many of its previous editions, it was a spectacle of video game awards as well as announcements of upcoming games. Team Xbox, which now has giant publishers Activision-Blizzard-King and Bethesda under its umbrella, came out with very notable video game announcements that not only includes Hideo Kojima’s Xbox project but also a brand new game (the licensed property of a very popular entertainment brand) which I never anticipated coming. #2 Godzilla Minus One makes impact in America – While its current theatrical distribution in America is not too great, the Japanese-made Godzilla Minus One movie managed to make an impact with moviegoers and critics there. In fact, Toho’s newest Godzilla film even topped the American box office on specific days during the week (click here and here) even though it came with English subtitles (with original Japanese voices throughout) that had to be read by moviegoers. #3 The evil of the Islamo-Left – It is not surprising at all that Leftist elements continue to take sides with the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas while opposing Israel’s war efforts in the Gaza strip (Israel’s response to Hamas’ October 7 terrorist attacks and abduction of hostages). If you do your research of history, you will realize that the unholy alliance between Islamic terrorists and Leftists actually go a long way back. Officials and employees of the Muntinlupa City government will get a performance-based bonus (PBB) as an extra Christmas treat.

Majority Floor Leader Raul Corro announced on Dec. 11 that the Muntinlupa City Council passed a resolution on first reading granting the bonus for the fiscal year 2022.

The decision was made after the city government passed the four criteria that allowed it to grant the bonus: performance results, process results, financial results and citizen/client satisfaction result.

The grant of the PBB on Muntinlupa City government personnel was approved by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), which certified that “the City of Muntinlupa is included in the official list of local governments eligible to grant the FY 2022 Performance-Based Bonus to qualified local government officials and employees.”

Muntinlupa’s Local Finance Committee also approved a resolution recommending the release of the PBB to qualified personnel.

Recently in the City of Muntinlupa, local athletes and aspiring engineers who excelled in competitions and examinations were congratulated by Mayor Ruffy Biazon, according to a Manila Bulletin news report.

Athletes and aspiring engineers from the City of Muntinlupa showed excellence again in various fields and contests, from the national civil engineers’ board exam to the University Athletics Association of the Philippines (UAAP) and competitions in the Asian level.

Mayor Ruffy Biazon congratulated the athletes and students for excelling in their various fields, saying “It is our hope that your success will continue to inspire and bring honor to our city.“

Among these achievements, the Colegio de Muntinlupa (CDM) logged a 75 percent passing rate in the recent Civil Engineer Licensure Examination by the Philippine Regulatory Commission (PRC), almost twice the national average passing rate of 33 percent.

Flix Mowry Cambahe, Kathleen De Guzman, Via Cris Echavez, Francisco Tan, Ericka Valdisimo, and Christian John Yabillo are the newly minted civil engineers from CDM.

In addition, the city has the honor of producing the latest UAAP Most Valuable Player, Karl Kevin Argana Quiambao of De La Salle University, who hails from Barangay Bayanan.

The city also recently added to its stable of elite athletes Aidanreed Mercado and Sophia Kyra Capistrano who captured gold in the Sprint Men Junior Elite and silver in the Junior Elite Women Category, respectively, in the recent 2023 Asia Triathlon Duathlon Championship.

The Muntinlupa City government opened a Christmas bazaar at the renovated Alabang Central Market (ACM), giving shoppers more options this holiday season.

Mayor Ruffy Biazon presided over the reopening of the newly renovated Building B of the ACM and invited shoppers to enjoy the bazaar at the refurbished market.

The new building features 357 stalls for general merchandise, salon services, and dry goods. Building A, which was reopened earlier, is the wet section of the market.

The renovated ACM now has more updated service facilities such as individual power supply, air handling system,️ fire protection system, fire detection and alarm system, and rainwater collection system.

The Muntinlupa City government received the Seal of Good Local Governance Award 2023 from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).

Muntinlupa is one of the 493 local government unit awardees including 11 from the National Capital Region (NCR).

Awardees from the NCR are Muntinlupa, Caloocan, Malabon, Mandaluyong, Marikina, Navotas, Pasay, Pasig, San Juan, Valenzuela, and Quezon City.

LGUs were assessed based on 10 governance areas. These were financial administration, disaster preparedness, social protection and sensitivity, health compliance and responsiveness, sustainable education, business-friendliness and competitiveness, safety, peace and order, environmental management, tourism, heritage development, culture and the arts, and youth development.

Mayor Ruffy Biazon said Muntinlupa was also an awardee in 2022, 2019 and 2015.

A Look Back at G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero #10 (1983)

Welcome back superhero enthusiasts, 1980s culture enthusiasts and comic book collectors! Today we go back to the early 1980s to explore Marvel Comics’ extensive publishing of a comic book series based on the wildly popular military-themed franchise of toys – G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero.

Last time around, G.I. Joe found itself getting attacked within their own base (The Pit) as a result of the robot they brought in from a stronghold of their terrorist rival Cobra. It was a Trojan plan that Cobra Commander and his team organized from far away and they almost succeeded.

With those details laid down, here is a look back at G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero #10 published in 1983 by Marvel Comics with the main story written by Larry Hama and drawn by Mike Vosburg.

Early story

The story begins with G.I. Joe members Scarlett, Snake-Eyes and Zap reach the top of a tall New York City building that could be another stronghold of Cobra. On the street just outside of the same building, other Joe members located inside a van on the street and in the sewers carefully make their moves to ensure their operation will succeed.

Behind the scenes inside the building, the Baroness is informed of the Joes’ presence. This causes the top of building’s roof to open causing Snakey-Eyes, Scarlett and Zap to fall down into a room. In response, the Joe members inside the van make their move into the building save Scarlett and her two teammates…

Quality

*A few of the Joes captured by Cobra, and Snake-Eyes got heavily restrained.*

This is another clever story written by Larry Hama highlighting the rivalry between G.I. Joe and Cobra without emphasizing the usual action-packed battles between them. Instead, this tale emphasizes Cobra being more resourceful than meets the eye. What I mean is that the terrorists here are not limited to their military culture and weapons as they also have the means to conduct scientific experimentation, establishing spies among civilians (including minors) and even having American towns as their tactical fronts.

In many ways, this tale shows Cobra being a very diversified terrorist organization that also mastered the uses of disguise and imagery to hide themselves from American authorities right there in America. The town of Springfield symbolizes Cobra’s use of ground level fronts to hide their secret underground stronghold from being spotted which is eerily similar to how Palestinian terrorist group Hamas uses schools, hospitals and other establishments in the Gaza strip to hide their tunnels and operation places deep under. The portrayal of American minors being junior officers of Cobra is really disturbing as it reminds me of the fact that in reality, Palestinian terrorists (note: the Palestinian Authority is corrupted and practices apartheid) have brainwashed their minors to hate and to murder Jews. I should add that the Palestinian terrorists, Hamas, the United Nations (UN), Amnesty International and the many Leftist leaders of nations formed the global axis of evil we know today.

As for the characters, the new kid here is easily the most notable addition and you have to read the comic book to find out why. For the more established characters, you will see Snake-Eyes helpless and Scarlett being really vulnerable in the dream world. On the side of Cobra, Dr. Venom has really fascinating interpretations and observations about the readings of the scientific operations.

Conclusion

*The other G.I. Joe members scramble to rescue their teammates.*

G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero #10 (1983) is very engaging and intriguing to read from start to finish. This comic book, which is clearly a piece of fantasy, also served as an intriguing reminder that terrorists in the real world (read: Iran, Palestinian terrorists, Hamas, Hezbollah, ISIS and others) are capable of securing or stealing large financial resources for themselves and expand their operations to infiltrate societies and take advantage of the ignorant and helpless members to be part of their wicked causes. There were indeed lots of parallels between Cobra and the Palestinian terrorists.

Overall, G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero #10 (1983) is recommended.

Fines and penalties for Maynilad over pipe repair project that caused damage on the National Road in Muntinlupa

Recently in the progressive City of Muntinlupa, it was announced that water concessionaire Maynilad will be slapped with fines and penalties for their pipe repair project that caused damage on the National Road in the barangay of Tunasan, according to a Manila Bulletin news report.

The Muntinlupa City government will impose fines and penalties on Maynilad Water Services over a pipe repair project that damaged the National Road in Barangay Tunasan.

Muntinlupa Mayor Ruffy Biazon summoned representatives of Maynilad over their pipe repair project that has caused severe traffic.

Biazon said on Nov. 21, a pipe valve of Maynilad along the National Road in Barangay Tunasan got disconnected that led to water spilling out and causing cracks on the road. The crack got so big that one lane of the road had to be closed to traffic. This resulted in heavy traffic in the area. The City Engineering Office and Maynilad immediately responded to the incident.

Maynilad is repairing the pipe and road damage. The crack will be cemented to restore it that will allow the national road to be fully opened again to motorists.

According to Maynilad, Biazon said, the restoration will be finished by Nov. 25 and the national road will be fully opened again. But the City Engineering Office recommended additional days to totally cure the cement.
