The Bureau of Immigration (BI) on Tuesday said two Chinese nationals recently arrested in Cebu province and ParaƱaque City are now awaiting deportation.
Commissioner Norman Tansingco identified them as Zhu Yuanjiang, 25; and Ma MIngjie, 51, who were arrested last week in separate operations of the BIās fugitive search unit (FSU).
Both are now detained at the BI detention facility at Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City while awaiting deportation.
Zhu was arrested on April 17 in Barangay Umapad, Mandaue City after the BI board of commissioners issued a warrant of deportation against him last year.
He was ordered deported for overstaying and for working in the country without proper permits.
Investigation showed that Zhu previously worked in Xinchuang Network Technology Inc., an online gaming hub in Pasay City that was raided by authorities in June last year for alleged engagement in various criminal activities such as human trafficking and cyber fraud.
Meanwhile, Ma was nabbed on April 19 at his residence in a subdivision in ParaƱaque City. He is wanted by Chinese authorities for contract fraud.
Ma has a warrant of arrest from the Jiangbei district sub-bureau of the Public Security Bureau in Chongqing, China issued on Dec. 6, 2017.
Chinese authorities alleged that Ma and his cohorts deliberately tampered with bank accounts and account names of a point of sale machine merchant which resulted in the unauthorized transfer of over 58 million yuan (more than USD8 million) from China Minsheng Banking Corporation to his altered bank account.

#5 The Jessica Alfaro Story (1995) full movie ā Here in the Philippines, the Vizconde Massacre case is one of the most controversial and most sensationalized cases ever. This is about the 1991 tragedy of three family members ā mother, adult daughter and little daughter ā who were found dead with multiple stab wounds in their home in BF Homes, ParaƱaque. In 1995, Jessica Alfaro emerged as the so-called star witness claiming she knew the suspects, was at the Vizconde home when the murders happened, and pointed to several suspects who happened to be members of prominent families. Conviction of the suspects happened in January 2000 followed by further legal disputes through the following years. In December 2010, seven of the nine accused were acquitted as a result of the Supreme Court reversing the earlier judgment of the lower court and the Court of Appeals.
Going back to 1995, believe it or not, a live-action movie dramatizing the life and times of Jessica Alfaro was actually released shortly after the star witness first emerged. The movie was The Jessica Alfaro Story (1995) which starred Alice Dixson which you can watch entirely (note: Tagalog language and several minutes of the film was muted on YouTube due to use of copyrighted music) below.
Take note that due to legal reasons, the Vizconde name was not used in the film which resulted in the use of an alternative name (examples: Vizconde massacre is called Ilagan massacre, Carmella Vizconde is referred to as Lorraine Ilagan), and do not expect to hear Hubert Webbās name in the film. This goes the same with the other real-life suspects. The Vizconde Massacre case officially started in 1995 and the 2010 Supreme Court decision made The Jessica Alfaro Storyās overall value questionable by todayās standards. However, the movie should still appeal to people who love Alice Dixson, as well as film buffs who are interested to see how Filipino filmmakers dramatize reality and controversial cases.

Government anti-narcotics authorities seized P3.4 million worth of shabu on Tuesday, April 16, following the arrest of three suspects during a buy-bust operation at the basement parking of a shopping mall in ParaƱaque City.
In an initial report, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said that the law enforcers confiscated 500 grams of shabu from Asher Guiani, 32; Ariedz Guiani, 27; and Almajid Kudandin, 22, at around 12:20 p.m. during the operation in barangay Don Bosco.
Aside from shabu concealed in six pieces of knot-tied transparent plastic sachets, the operatives seized a genuine P1,000 bill with serial number NUO69267 placed on top of boodle money, one cellphone, a laminated temp PhilSys identification (ID) card under the name of Ariedz Guiaman Guiani and black Hyundai Accent vehicle with license plate AQQ2908 with ignition key.

Police officers apprehended a civilian clad in the athletic uniform of the Philippine National Police (PNP) while taking selfies in ParaƱaque City.
In a report Tuesday, Staff Sgt. Jeffrey Tupil of the Southern Police District (SPD) said he was aboard a bus when he saw the 38-year-old suspect, identified as alias “Jefferson,” along Coastal Road on Monday.
Tupas said the suspect was wearing the shirt of the PNP athletic uniform, jogging pants, and slippers and appeared to be taking selfies.
Upon reaching the ParaƱaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX), Tupil approached the suspect and requested him to present his PNP identification card, which the suspect failed to show.

Quirino Avenue; C3: Araneta Avenue; C4: EDSA; C5: Katipunan/CP Garcia; C6: Southeast Metro Manila Expressway; R1: Roxas Boulevard; R2: Taft Avenue; R3: OsmeƱa Highway (South Superhighway); R4: Shaw Boulevard; R5: Ortigas Avenue; R6: Magsaysay Blvd./Aurora Blvd; R7: Quezon Ave./Commonwealth Ave; R8: A. Bonifacio Ave.; R9: Rizal Ave.; R10: Del Pan/Marcos Highway/McArthur Highway; Elliptical Road; Mindanao Avenue; and Marcos Highway.
As mentioned previously, it is up to the Metro Manila local government units (LGUs) to add more roads to the above list by means of approving local ordinances. Going back to the ban on e-trikes and e-bikes on Metro Manilaās major roads, Muntinlupa City Mayor Ruffy Biazon publicly emphasized the aspect of safety.

I should also state that there have been a lot of videos of e-trikes and e-bikes that caused problems on public roads and posted below for your viewing are YouTube videos I found. Do not be surprised to see how reckless or careless some e-bike/e-trike drivers turned out as caught on video.
Itās one thing for a person to drive an e-bike or e-trike, it is completely another for him or her to be fully oriented with traffic rules and safety oriented driving. In my view, all e-bike and e-trike units should be registered with the Land Transportation Office (LTO), and each driver of electric vehicles should be required to get licensed to drive (which includes attending seminars and passing the tests). This is all about the greater good, the need to be orderly and ensuring road safety in general.

A police officer who is an active member of the mobile unit of the Philippine National Police-Aviation Security Group was arrested for allegedly shooting a motorcycle rider in Barangay San Dionisio, ParaƱaque.
According to Mariz Umali’s Saturday 24 Oras Weekend report, 27-year-old Neil Wong was shot dead at around 6:40 a.m. He was seen by a witness talking to the suspect before the attack.
āNakita ko nang bumagsak na po yung biktima. Tapos sinisigawan ko na yung suspect, sabi ko āHuy!āā said the witness.
(I saw the victim fall. Then, I shouted at the suspect, I said āHuy!ā)
According to the ParaƱaque Police, the suspect attempted to steal the victimās motorcycle but ran after it failed to start and was arrested by a passing police patrol.
Taken from the suspect were his service firearm, bullets, and two of the victimās mobile phones.
āAng motibo na nakikita namin dito yung robbery,ā said ParaƱaque Police Investigation Chief Police Captain Melvin Garcia.

The victim may also have been in the area because his motorcycle broke down.
Meanwhile, the suspect denied the allegations.

Probers at the ParaƱaque City police are looking into the possibility that the killing on Thursday, March 21, of a pawnshop messenger was allegedly due his being a former police asset.
The Southern Police District (SPD) said the victim, identified as alias Juan, 45, of Camp Bagong Diwa, Lower Bicutan, Taguig City and a messenger at Champion Pawnshop located along Lopez Avenue, Barangay San Isidro, ParaƱaque City, was shot dead at around 7:40 a.m.
According to the report of the ParaƱaque city police, the victim was reportedly opening the sliding accordion metal door of the establishment when he was approached by a male person wearing a black hoody jacket, blue pants, red t-shirt, and white rubber shoes and was shot several times in the body.
The ParaƱaque City police said that based on the CCTV footage in the area, the suspect arrived with a male companion on board a motorcycle and parked their vehicle at the tricycle terminal.
The police said the gunman alighted from the motorcycle and walked casually to the establishment where alias Jun was working.
A few minutes later, a burst of gunfire was heard and the gunman was seen running going to the direction of his companion.
The police added that the motive of the killing could have been revenge because of his allegedly being a former police asset.

On the morning of March 21, 2024 at Branch 274 of the ParaƱaque Regional Trial Court (RTC), suspect Nelson Antonio was found guilty beyond reasonable doubt for the September 11, 2013 killing of his father Antonio P. Antonio (also referred to as Tonton and APA) and was sentenced to reclusion perpetua.
As expected, the verdict rendered by the honorable Judge Regina Paz Ramos Chavez drew reactions of happiness and relief from the surviving members of the Antonio family who worked hard to achieve justice for the late APA. In a statement to the journalists who were present, the prosecutor Atty. Carlo YbaƱez said that the verdict of guilty beyond reasonable doubt on Nelson Antonio was inevitable as it was clear that their side had many witnesses of the murder that happened in the Antono residence along Concha Cruz Drive, and there was also the fact that the suspect fled and hid overseas to elude justice (note: the charge of parricide was filed in late 2013) for years.
The promulgation happened in Branch 274 of the ParaƱaque RTC.

Atty. YbaƱez said they are anticipating the next move of the defense which could possibly be an appeal.

A woman online seller and two others were arrested by members of the ParaƱaque City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) for selling shabu during a buy-bust operation conducted on Tuesday, March 5.
The Southern Police District (SPD) identified the suspects as alias Weng, 30, an online seller; alias Jerico, 27; and alias Erwin, 40.
The SPD said the suspects were arrested at around 6:15 a.m. along Draga St., Barangay San Dionisio, ParaƱaque City.
The police said alias Weng and alias Jerico were tagged by the ParaƱaque city police as high value individuals (HVI) while alias Erwin was placed under Street Level Individual (SLI).
Recovered from the arrested suspects were 125 grams of shabu worth P850,000 and the P1,000 buy-bust money. The police said the recovered evidence from the suspect was turned over to the Southern Police District Forensic Unit (SPDFU) for analysis.

The suspect in the shooting to death of a 43-year-old woman in front of a coffee shop in ParaƱaque City on Feb. 15 voluntary surrendered to the police on the same day.
According to the Southern Police District (SPD), the suspect identified as alias “Cafgu” voluntary surrendered to the officers of San Dionisio Police Substation at around 11:00 p.m.
The SPD said the suspect was accompanied by his relatives when he yielded to the police. He was immediately turned over the ParaƱaque Police Investigation Section.
The police filed a murder case against the suspect for killing Yolanda, 43, at around 6:00 p.m. in front of a coffee shop on Palanyag Road in Gatchalian, Barangay San Dionisio, ParaƱaque City.
The victim was with her two sons and was about to board their car when the suspect approached and shot her several times in the head.
Yolanda was declared dead on arrival at the Olivarez Hospital.
Police investigators said the two sons of the victim positively identified the suspect as the one who shot their mother.
During investigation, police learned the suspect’s licenses to own and possess firearms had expired on March 11, 2022.
