Muntinlupa City ranks #2 in the NCR in public financial management

Recently in the progressive City of Muntinlupa, it was revealed that the city finished at 2nd place among the local governments within the National Capital Region (NCR) on the assessment about public financial management, according to a Manila Bulletin news report.

To put things in perspective, posted below is the excerpt from the Manila Bulletin news report. Some parts in boldface…

The Muntinlupa City government ranked second among local government units in the National Capital Region (NCR) in public financial management assessment done by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM).

Muntinlupa ranks 2nd in PFMAT Compliance of the Department of Budget and Management,” according to Mayor Ruffy Biazon.

The ranking was a result of the Public Financial Management Assessment Tool (PFMAT) based on budgeting, accounting, auditing, cash management, management of public debt/procurement, revenue generation and public reporting on public sector financial operations, added Biazon.

“Public Financial Management (PFM) is a system of rules, procedures and practices for government to manage public finances. PFM seeks to address the key challenges of controlling government spending and making agencies operate efficiently and effectively,” according to previous guidelines issued by the DBM.

Biazon said Muntinlupa’s ranking is “proof to our commitment to transparency, accountability, and responsible financial management. We ensure that public funds are spent well and effective.

Let me end this piece by asking you readers: If you are a Muntinlupa City resident, what is your reaction to this development? Are you delighted with what the city government achieved?

UN officials arrested by Israeli police for smuggling liquid cocaine!

I want to emphasize this to all of you reading this – I have no trust in the United Nations (UN) not just because it is a truly corrupted organization but also because it is inherently wicked deep within. The evil of the UN is so deeply rooted, it has formed unions with other evil forces from around the world. You can read more by clicking here.

Very recently, there were three officials of the United Nations who got apprehended by Israeli police when they were caught smuggling liquid cocaine (disguised as perfume kits) into the nation, according to a news report by The Jerusalem Post. This is not just a random search done by the authorities in Israel. It was the result of a high-stakes operation!

To put things in perspective, posted below is an excerpt from The Jerusalem Post report. Some parts in boldface…

An attempt to smuggle liquid cocaine disguised as perfume kits was halted on Sunday by Israel Police and Tax Authority inspectors from the Jordan River Customs House and Jordan River Border Crossing.

Three UN employees serving on the Syrian border were apprehended by the Northern District Police’s Yagal Unit on suspicion of involvement in the smuggling operation.

The UN employees arrived at the border crossing between Jordan and Israel during the day. Routine checks by the Tax Authority and Airport Authority personnel at the border crossing raised suspicions regarding the perfume kits brought by the passengers, which included bottles containing liquid.

The kits were subjected to thorough examination, including the use of a sniffer dog. The investigation revealed reasonable suspicion that the substance was liquid cocaine, leading the UN employees to be taken into custody for further questioning by the Northern District Police.

Indeed, the unidentified suspects employed by the UN violated Israel’s rules. One has to wonder why did those United Nations officials attempt to smuggle illegal substances into Israel at all. Could they have been working with some smuggling ring watching from a distance? The unidentified suspects are being questioned as of this writing.

Let me end this piece by asking you readers: What is your reaction to this development? Do you think the arrested United Nations officials could have been ordered by a UN superior to smuggle liquid cocaine into Israel? Could the UN itself been conspiring with smugglers, terrorists and criminal organizations?

Over 2,700 workers rescued in Las Piñas City

Recently in the city of Las Piñas, police officers rescued more than two thousand seven hundred employees – including several foreigners – after raiding a certain Philippine Offshore Gaming Operation (POGO) site in Barangay Almanza Uno, according to a Philippine Daily Inquirer report.

To put things in perspective, posted below is the excerpt from the Inquirer news report. Some parts in boldface…

As many as 2,714 people were rescued by police following a raid on a Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (Pogo) firm in Las Piñas City early Tuesday morning.

The NCRPO Joint Police Task Force, led by Deputy Regional Director for Operations Brig. Gen. Jack Wanky and Anti-Cybercrime Group Deputy Director for Operations, Col. Villammor Tuliao, executed search and seizure warrants for computer data at a pogo hub on 501 Alabang-Zapote Road, Almanza Uno, Las Piñas City. According to the National Capital Region Police Office, the operation occurred at about midnight.

Police identified the owner, maintainer, facilitator, and manager of Xinchuang Network Technology Inc., formerly known as “Hong Tai,” as follows: Quiha Lui, Liangfei Chen, Jimmy Lin, and Abbey Ng.

Meanwhile, Xinchuang Network Technology Inc. incorporators include Danica Andres Mensah, Oliver Ong, Divina Trillanes, and Daisy Vidal Cidro.

The warrants were served for the alleged violation of the Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act. Initial data from NCRPO showed that 1,528 Filipino workers were rescued.

Meanwhile, 600 of the rescued are from China, 183 from Vietnam, 137 from Indonesia, 134 from Malaysia, 81 from Thailand, 21 from Taiwan, seven from Nigeria, five from Singapore, five from Myanmar, four from Yemen, two from Pakistan, two from Africa, one from India, one from Somalia, one from Sudan, one from Cameroon, and one from Iran.

Let me end this piece by asking you readers: If you are a resident of Las Piñas City, what is your reaction to this development? Are you concerned that other POGOs located within your city could possibly be having abused workers kept secret from the public? Do you think that POGOs are somehow connected with local crime incidents?

COVID-19 Crisis: Health Secretary to recommend lifting of COVID-19 public health emergency nationwide

It has been more than three years since a national emergency was declared in response to COVID-19 and in a recent ambush interview, new Department of Health (DOH) Secretary Ted Herbosa said he would recommend the lifting of the nation’s emergency, according to a GMA Network news report.

To put things in perspective, posted below is an excerpt from the GMA news article. Some parts in boldface…

Health Secretary Ted Herbosa said Monday that he would recommend lifting the country’s COVID-19 state of public health emergency.

In an ambush interview, Herbosa stressed that COVID-19 no longer posed an emergency and could be treated as any other disease that the Department of Health (DOH) monitors, like influenza, cough, and cold.

“Actually, wala nang emergency eh, ‘di ba? (there is no longer an emergency). I think I would actually ask the lifting of the public health emergency in the country,” he said.

Then-President Rodrigo Duterte declared a state of public health emergency during the onset of the pandemic in March 2020.

Under Proclamation 922, the state of public health emergency would remain in force and effect until lifted or withdrawn by the President.

In May, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared that COVID-19 no longer represented a global health emergency.

Herbosa, however, said that the alert level system would remain.

“The alert level system will stay because that’s a system like the typhoon signal that stays. But actually hindi na siya (that’s no longer a) public health emergency. Wala nang (there’s no) public health emergency,” he added.

Let me end this piece by asking you readers: What is your reaction to this recent development? Do you believe that COVID-19 itself is no longer the tremendous health problem it used to be?

You may answer in the comments below. If you prefer to answer privately, you may do so by sending me a direct message online.

Muntinlupa Mayor establishes sports and recreational facilities division

Recently in the progressive City of Muntinlupa, Mayor Ruffy Biazon issued an executive order establishing a local division to manage the local sports and recreational facilities, according to a Manila Bulletin news report. For the newcomers reading this, Muntinlupa now has an aquatics center, a track-and-field oval and other facilities for sports/recreational activities or events.

To put things in perspective, posted below is the excerpt from the Manila Bulletin news report. Some parts in boldface…

Muntinlupa Mayor Ruffy Biazon issued an executive order creating a special body that will oversee sports and recreational facilities in the city.

Biazon signed Executive Order No. 20 establishing the Sports and Recreations Management Division (SRMD) that is also tasked to market the facilities as venues for local and international competitions.

(Having the SRMD) we expect our sports facilities to be well-taken care of and maximized to their fullest potential as we now have a dedicated office to oversee their daily operations,” said Biazon.

The SRMD was established to operate and maintain the city’s sports facilities, including the Muntinlupa Sports Center, Aquatic Center, Track and Field Oval, as well as covered courts, parks, and playgrounds.

The Muntinlupa Aquatic Center recently hosted the “United We Swim” Anniversary Swim Meet of the Swim League Philippines with about 600 participating swimmers from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

Biazon appointed Joshua Robert Cosare, a member of the Sports Management Council of the Philippines, as head of the SRMD. Cosare is a graduate of BA Sports and Recreational Management and has over 10 years of experience in the field.

Let me end this piece by asking you readers: If you are a Muntinlupa City resident, what is your reaction to this development? Do you believe the mention facilities will be maintained well in the long-term?

COVID-19 Crisis: Bivalent vaccines in Muntinlupa City

Recently in the progressive City of Muntinlupa, the City Government officially launched the local rollout of bivalent COVID-19 vaccines starting with the health workers, according to a Manila Bulletin news report.

To put things in perspective, posted below is the excerpt from the Manila Bulletin news report. Some parts in boldface…

The Muntinlupa City government rolled out the administration of the Bivalent Covid-19 vaccine on health workers on June 23.

Lithuania donated to the Philippines the Covid-19 Vaccine Pfizer Bivalent or the Tozinameran + Famtozinameran (Comimaty Original/Omicron BA.4-5).

The Department of Health (DOH) allocated 726 vials or 4,356 doses for health care workers in Muntinlupa.

The city-run Ospital ng Muntinlupa (OsMun) got an allocation of 540 doses while the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine had 1,524 doses intended for A1 (health workers) group.

A total of 36 healthcare workers were already vaccinated at OsMun as of this writing.

Under a DOH memorandum issued in March, the Bivalent Covid-19 vaccines will be administered as a third booster shot to people aged at least 18 belonging to priority groups healthcare workers (A1) and senior citizens (A2).

They can get the Bivalent vaccine at least four to six months after getting their second booster shot.

Let me end this piece by asking you readers: If you are a Muntinlupa City resident, what is your reaction to this development? Are you interested in availing of a bivalent shot locally?

COVID-19 Crisis: DOH Secretary says bivalent vaccines are effective against Omicron FE.1

As the issuance of bivalent vaccines for COVID-19 is going on nationwide, Department of Health (DOH) Secretary Ted Herbosa announced that the said vaccines are effective against the newest Omicron subvariant FE.1, according to a GMA Network news report.

To put things in perspective, posted below is an excerpt from the GMA news article. Some parts in boldface…

Bivalent COVID-19 vaccines remain to be an effective tool to protect people against the recently detected Omicron subvariant FE.1, Health Secretary Ted Herbosa said Wednesday.

During the rollout of the bivalent COVID-19 vaccination in the Philippines, the newly appointed chief of the Department of Health (DOH) was asked if the bivalent jabs are also effective against the FE.1, which is a sublineage of the Omicron XBB subvariant.

“Yes. Generally, because this is still Omicron and nilagay na ‘yung Omicron doon sa bivalent vaccine, meron nang cross immunity ‘yan kasi ‘yung mga antigens pareho lang even if it’s a different subvariant. Hindi mahihinto ‘yan,” Herbosa said.

(Yes. Generally, because this FE.1 is still Omicron, and the Omicron has been put in the bivalent vaccine. There is already cross immunity because the antigens are the same even if it’s a different subvariant. It won’t stop.)

The first case of FE.1 or XBB.1.18.1.1 was found in the genome sequencing conducted on May 29 to June 12, 2023, based on DOH’s latest COVID-19 biosurveillance report.

The DOH said FE.1 was added to the list of variants under monitoring by the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control on June 1, 2023, and was initially flagged “for its increasing global prevalence,” being detected in 35 countries so far.

The agency, however, stressed that currently available evidence for the subvariant does not suggest any differences in disease severity and/or clinical manifestations compared to the original Omicron variant.

While admitting that he is yet to familiarize with the characteristics of the FE.1, Herbosa said it may also exhibit the same symptoms as those with other Omicron subvariants.

“If you have upper respiratory symptoms [like] sipon, sore throat, ubo, ‘yan ang most common. Occasionally, kagaya sa Arcturus, meron sore eyes. Itong FE.1 I don’t know if ‘yun o pareho lang. Ma-identify dapat ng genetic studies,” he added.

(If you have upper respiratory symptoms like cold, sore throat, and cough, those are the most common symptoms. Occasionally, like Arcturus, there could be sore eyes. I don’t know if it’s the same with FE.1. It should be identified by genetic studies.)

Let me end this piece by asking you readers: What is your reaction to this recent development? Did anyone from your local community avail of the bivalent vaccine? Does your local government have bivalent vaccines already?

Philippines wins gold and silver medals across varied categories at the Powerman Malaysia 2023 Duathlon

Welcome back my readers and sports fans! The Philippines achieved victories in specific categories during the recent Powerman Malaysia 2023 Duathlon according to a Manila Bulletin sports news report reflecting the official race results published. The Filipino duathlete who won the silver medal in the Elite Men’s race was John Chicano who previously won medals in the Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games).

To put things in perspective, posted below is an excerpt from the Manila Bulletin sports article. Some parts in boldface…

Merry Joy Trupa and John Chicano became the best performing Filipino athletes in the elite division of the recent Powerman Malaysia 2023 Duathlon race after clinching the gold and silver medals, respectively, held in Putrajaya.

Trupa ruled the women’s elite by a hairline by clocking 3 hours, 13 minutes and 34 seconds, beating teammate Rhia Stawicki (3:13:35) by one second. Yon Man Yun crossed the finish line six minutes later to grab the bronze in 3:19:16.

Reigning Southeast Asian Games champion Chicano, for his part, continued his strong showing in international tournaments with a silver-medal finish in the men’s side, timing 2:44:00 to settle behind eventual gold medalist Malo Moysan of France.

Moysan, a French Grand Prix and Spain Open Duathlon titlist, lived up to his billing and timed 2:40:45 for the gold medal.

Moysan and Chicano were head-to-head in the first run leg with the Filipino trailing only by mere seconds before the French duathlete gained a comfortable four-minute lead in the bike leg and never slowed down.

It was a 2-3 finish for Team PH after Maynard Pecson clinched the bronze with 2:49:17.

Meanwhile, other Filipino podium finishers include Jena Valdez, who won the gold in short distance female (15-17), and silver winners Aidanreed Mercado (short male 18-29) and Sophia Capistrano (short female 18-39).

Supported by the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), the Philippine team is competing in more events overseas. As I write this, there is a Philippine delegation set to compete in the 2023 Asia Triathlon U23 and Junior Championships in Japan. Watch out for more Philippine multisport updates right here!

Parañaque abortion clinic raided and seven suspects arrested!

There is no denying the fact that abortion is definitely wicked as it is the murder of the unborn child. Very shockingly, a secretive abortion clinic in Parañaque City was uncovered and raided by elements of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) resulting in seven suspects – almost all were Chinese nationals – arrested for their involvement, according to a Philippine Daily Inquirer news report.

To put things in perspective, posted below is the excerpt from the Inquirer news report. Some parts in boldface…

Six Chinese nationals and one Filipino were arrested by police for allegedly conducting abortion procedures and selling abortion drugs in Parañaque City, said the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) on Tuesday.

According to the NCRPO’s police report, the seven were arrested in Tambo, Parañaque City, after weeks of surveillance.

NCRPO said the arrest stemmed from an informant alerting the police of the sale of medications used in abortion and their purported performance of abortion procedures.

Arresting officers seized one package of 25 milligrams (mg) of mifepristone tablets, one box of 100 mg cefixime dispersible tablets, and one pack of Golden Throat Lozenge and metronidazole tablets.

The suspects are now in the custody of NCRPO to undergo investigation. They will be charged with the illegal practice of medicine contained in the Republic Act (RA) 2382 or the Medical Act of 1959 and violation of the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act also known as RA 3720.

Meanwhile, GMA Network released their own news video about the same raid which you can watch below…

Let me end this piece by asking you readers: What do you think about this recent development? Are you concerned that there could be even more secretive abortion clinics operating elsewhere within Parañaque City? Did you notice the presence of abortion-related drugs circulating within your local community? Who do you think is the mastermind behind the raided abortion clinic?
