A 31-year-old mechanic and top seven station-level most wanted person was arrested by Southern Police District (SPD) personnel during the implementation of a warrant of arrest at West Service Road, Barangay Merville, Parañaque City on Wednesday morning.
The accused—identified only by the alias Wilfredo, a resident of Barangay Don Bosco, Parañaque City—wasarrested at his residence at about 9:10 a.m.
He was apprehended by personnel of the warrant and subpoena section of Parañaque City Police Station by virtue of awarrant of arrest for discharge of firearms under Article 254 of the Revised Penal Code.
The warrant was issued on 27 July 2026 by the Parañaque City Regional Trial Court Branch 260, with recommended bail set at P240,000.
In compliance with Supreme Court Administrative Matter No. 21-06-08-SC, the implementation of the warrant was documented using a PNP body-worn camera and a cellular phone as an alternative recording device to ensure transparency and accountability.

A 72-year-old South Korean man has been arrested in Japan for allegedly overstaying his tourist visa for more than 26 years, police said.
Shizuoka Prefectural Police announced on Aug. 26 that the man had entered Japan illegally and continued to live in Yaizu City, Shizuoka Prefecture.
Police said they received a tip about the man in June and subsequently arrested him.
He originally entered Japan in September 1993 on a 15-day tourist visa, using his brother’s passport because he hoped to find better-paid work in the country, as reported by ANNnewsCH.
The man is believed to have remained in Japan since his arrival 26 years ago.
Because visa overstaying was not a criminal offense in Japan until February 2000, when a revised immigration law took effect, police arrested him on suspicion of overstaying from that point onward, according to the Japan Times.
The suspect has admitted to the allegation, telling investigators that he supported himself by working various day jobs.

Two men were arrested after police seized around 250 grams of high-grade marijuana or “kush” valued at P375,000 during a buy-bust operation in Parañaque City early Sunday morning, Aug. 23.
The suspects, both 24, were identified as Paul, a resident of Barangay Moonwalk, and Mikko, of Barangay San Isidro.
Police said operatives of the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) of the Parañaque City Police Station conducted the operation at around 3:20 a.m. at a residence on Daang Batang Street in Barangay Moonwalk.
Police saidan undercover officer successfully purchased suspected kush from the suspects before the arresting team moved in.
The operation resulted in therecovery of several sachets and plastic bags containing suspected high-grade marijuana weighing approximately 250 grams valued at P375,000.
Police alsorecovered the P1,000 marked money used in the transaction, a smartphone, and an (eco-bag)allegedly used to carry the suspected illegal drugs.
Authorities are preparing charges against Paul for violation of Section 5 (sale) and Section 11 (possession) of Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

A 34-year-old man was apprehended for usurpation of authority and violation of Section 7 of Republic Act No. 10591 during an Oplan Bakal operation in Las Piñas City early Monday morning, 24 August.
At about 1:20 a.m., personnel of the CAA Sub-Station conducted the operation at a resto bar along J. Aguilar Avenue, Barangay Pulang Lupa Dos.
The suspect, identified as alias Noe, allegedly introduced himself as a member of the Philippine Army and disclosed that he was carrying a firearm inside his belt bag.

A Chinese national was arrested after selling illegal drugs to an undercover police officer in a buy-bust operation that yielded around P357,000 worth of suspected shabu, ecstasy, cocaine, and marijuana in Parañaque City late Thursday, Aug. 20.
The suspect, identified as Tiger, 40, an online seller and resident of Clark Field, Pampanga, wasnabbed at about 11:05 p.m. inside a unit at Marina Seaview Residences in Barangay Tambo.
The operation was conducted by operatives of the Southern Police District-Drug Enforcement Unit (SPD-DEU) in coordination with the Parañaque City Police after identifying Tiger as a high-value individual.
Police said an undercover officer posed as a buyer and completed a drug transaction with Tiger. Backup operatives immediately moved in and arrested the suspect following the transaction.
Police said theyrecovered four heat-sealed sachets containing approximately 50 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P340,000.
Also seized wereeight ecstasy tablets valued at P13,000, one sachet of suspected cocaine worth P3,100, and one sachet of suspected marijuana or kush valued at P900.
Police also confiscated the buy-bust money, an Android mobile phone, and a blue pouch allegedly used to keep the suspected illegal substances.

A 28‑year‑old businessman was arrested after posing as a police officer and challenging traffic enforcers to a fistfight following a road rage incident in Parañaque City on Monday night, August 17.
The suspect, identified only as alias “Kim,” wasapprehended at around 8:20 p.m. near the corner of Doña Soledad Avenue and France Street in Barangay Don Bosco.
Police saidthe suspect was initially involved in a road rage incident in which he allegedly chased another motorist while shouting offensive and insulting remarks. He later stopped near five traffic enforcers, claimed to be a police officer, and confronted them.
Authorities reported thatthe suspect, who allegedly smelled of alcohol, stepped out of his Suzuki Jimny and challenged the enforcers to a fistfight, hurling vulgar remarks despite their attempts to calm him.
The traffic enforcers restrained him until officers from the Don Bosco Police Sub‑Station arrived. The motorist involved in the earlier road rage incident also arrived and identified the suspect.
Verification showed that thesuspect failed to present a police identification card, badge, or any official document to support his claim of being a police officer.

Man was arrested for alleged illegal possession of a firearm during the implementation of a search warrant in Las Piñas City on 14 August.
Arrested was alias Toto, of legal age, for violation of Section 28(a) of Republic Act No. 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
At about 8:45 a.m., personnel of the Pamplona Sub-Station, Station Intelligence and Detective Management Section, intelligence operatives, Tactical Motorcycle Reaction Unit, and Special Weapons and Tactics implemented a search warrant issued by Judge Pia Cristina Bersamin-Embuscado at the suspect’s residence in Villa Monique Homes, Barangay Pamplona Tres.
During the search, police personnel who acted as the searcher, recovered one caliber .38 revolver loaded with four live rounds of ammunition and one handkerchief.
Following the operation, (they) arrested suspect and the recovered evidence were brought to the SIDMS for investigation and proper disposition.

The Trump Administration has been clear: the International Criminal Court (ICC) is a corrupt and fatally politicized supranational court that has maliciously abused its authority and exceeded its mandate. We will not tolerate its assault on state sovereignty.
In furtherance of the diplomatic campaign we launched last month to address the ICC’s abuses of power, I am designating two ICC officials – President of the ICC, Tomoko Akane of Japan, and ICC Senior Trial Lawyer, Abdoulaye Seye of Senegal – pursuant to Executive Order 14203, “Imposing Sanctions on the International Criminal Court.” These individuals have directly engaged in efforts by the ICC to investigate, arrest, detain, or prosecute officials whose government has not consented to ICC jurisdiction.
The ICC has repeatedly attempted to assert authority over nationals of the United States and other countries that have not consented to its jurisdiction or ratified the Rome Statute. This sets a dangerous precedent for all nations.
Our whole of government campaign to dismantle the threat posed by the ICC to national sovereignty will be sweeping and we expect more countries to join our campaign by ending their funding and participation in this politicized and unaccountable court. The ICC’s ability to target American nationals and those of other non-States Parties must end. The Trump Administration stands ready to take additional measures, if necessary, to systematically dismantle the ICC until it is incapable of threatening American sovereignty.
Japan’s reaction – Prime Minister Takaichi Sanae described the sanctions against ICC president Akane as “very unfortunate.” She told reporters that her government will deal with the situation by “continuing communication with relevant nations including the United States.” Japan is known to have supported the ICC for many years already.

#2 Behind the Scenes Making of Resident Evil (1996) – It has been over thirty years since Resident Evil was first released and today it has grown into a multimedia entertainment franchise still driven by video game productions. Although many video game publications published a lot of articles about the original game from 1996, none of them captured the behind-the-scenes making at Capcom which the YouTube video below features. Even if you are not a Resident Evil fan, I still encourage you to watch it as you can learn a lot about the process, the hard work done by the Japanese and insight shared by Shinji Mikami.

Recently, record-breaking rainfall hit Chiba Prefecture causing a lot of flood and hardship for the Japanese. #7 Role-playing Games About 1990s Anime – Believe it or not, there are indeed role-playing games (RPGs) based on anime properties that were popular in the 1990s. #8 Assorted Pacific Rim Reaction Videos – When Pacific Rim was released in cinemas worldwide in 2013, I never bothered to watch it in the local cinema. Here in the Philippines, there was a lot of pre-release buzz that Manila would appear in the movie and so many local film buffs got excited. The movie eventually grossed over $400 million worldwide through theaters and a lot of people enjoyed its high-quality visuals, intense battles and the special attention to detail invested on the size and scale of the locations. The movie has been featured in several reaction videos and posted below are the entertaining ones to watch.

#10 Shallow Focus is a Disease in Movies – There is a new trend that has influence the production of movies in Hollywood (AKA Commiewood) for many years now and it has literally become a disease which made the viewing of movies undesirable. The disease is shallow focus which occurs when the area of sharpness in front of a camera lens is very narrow which results in blurry backgrounds. Shallow focus is being abused in modern-day filmmaking and it is only getting worse.
