Visit Mardi Gras Bazaar (2023) at Madison Galeries now!

NOTE: Shortly after the launch of Mardi Gras Bazaar, Madison Galeries renamed it into Mardi Gras Warehouse Sale which had its last sale on December 2 and 3, 2023. The previous announced schedule of Mardi Gras Bazaar set for November 18 to December 31, 2023, no longer matters.

It has finally happened and already a lot of people have joined in for their shopping needs or purposes. I’m talking about the latest Mardi Gras Bazaar which officially started this morning at the 3rd floor of Madison Galeries along Don Jesus Boulevard, Alabang Hills, Barangay Cupang, Muntinlupa City, and I personally visited and bought some nice things with the Christmas season in mind.

Mardi Gras Bazaar this year is happening at the 3rd floor of Madison Galeries. If you go further in, there is a lot of space inside with all the products for sale.

Also taking place right now is the Christmas Sale of Oriental Merchants at the 4th floor of the same mall.

For the newcomers reading this, the Mardi Gras Bazaar this year will last until December 31, 2023 with a schedule of 10AM to 8:30 PM. In my personal experience, this is my 2nd time to attend the bazaar at Madison Galeries and it also marked the first time in four years since I last attended it (read my 2019 Mardi Gras Bazaar experience by clicking here).

More on the ongoing Mardi Gras Bazaar, check out the pictures I posted below and may these be a reference for you all…

A wide shot of the venue of the bazaar. There is a lot more products not seen in this image.
Looking for a new bicycle? Mardi Gras Bazaar has it!
The return of Mardi Gras Bazaar is indeed special. So many products with attractive prices around.
In the background are the counters where shoppers lineup with their selected products. Payments by cash, GCash (e-wallet) and credit cards are accepted.
In my experience, the process has been orderly.

For those of you who need directions to get to Madison Galeries for the bazaar, posted below is a screenshot from the social media post of the mall…

A useful reference for you all.

As we now live in the post-pandemic age, the newest Mardi Gras Bazaar is an important event not simply because it offers shoppers opportunities to acquire good items at discounted rates but also because it contributes to the normalization of life after the depression of COVID-19.

That being said, I encourage you my readers to take the opportunity to come to Madison Galeries and join the Mardi Gras Bazaar while there is still time. I encourage you also tell your neighbors and friends in our communities about it.

For your reference, this was at the ground floor of Madison Galeries along Don Jesus Boulevard.

Madison Galeries’ Mardi Gras Bazaar set for November 18 to December 31, 2023

NOTE: Shortly after the launch of Mardi Gras Bazaar, Madison Galeries renamed it into Mardi Gras Warehouse Sale which had its last sale on December 2 and 3, 2023. The previous announced schedule of Mardi Gras Bazaar set for November 18 to December 31, 2023, no longer matters.

Madison Galeries, the nice open-air shopping mall located along Don Jesus Boulevard in Barangay Cupang, Muntinlupa City, recently announced the return of their popular Mardi Gras Bazaar which is all set to take place from November 18 up to December 31, 2023 at the 3rd floor.

The official image and details that Madison Galeries posted through social media.

For the newcomers reading this, the Mardi Gras Bazaar is a well-known special event of Madison Galeries’ with an emphasis on shopping as well as a wide variety of products that buyers can choose from for gift-giving or for the use of their respective households. It should be noted that several products will be offered at discounted rates which should easily attract bargain hunters as well.

In 2019, I published two posts about the Mardi Gras Bazaar which you can read by clicking here and here. My post-event article has some pictures which should you give an idea of what to expect at the next edition of the Mardi Gras Bazaar.

For the 2023 edition of the Mardi Gras Bazaar at Madison Galeries, the announced schedule of November 18-December 31 is pretty extensive and it should give people a lot of time and opportunities to shop. The schedule of the bazaar for each day is 10AM to 8:30 PM.

What to expect at this year’s bazaar? Based on the official image from Madison Galeries, there will be clothing, toys, appliances, electronics, hardware and other items that can be ideal for gift-giving this Christmas season. As with the past editions of the Mardi Gras Bazaar, a discount of up to 80% will be applied on certain items for sale.

Still on Madison Galeries, it should be noted that The Madison Events Place Facebook page shared the 2023 Mardi Gras Bazaar post which suggests that the 3rd floor venue (The Madison Events Place itself) will be the place to go to. Going back to 2019, I personally attended the Mardi Gras Bazaar and the Village Food Fair 2 (click here) on separate occasions and both special events utilized The Madison Events Place as the main venue. The said venue is a really nice and spacious indoor facility that is also comfortable, secure and fully air-conditioned.

Personally, I am eager to attend this upcoming event. For those of you who have yet to visit Madison Galeries in Alabang, the mall has sufficient parking spaces (note: there are elevated indoor parking levels inside).

Watch out for Mardi Gras Bazaar at Madison Galeries on November 18 to December 31, 2023. Visit the mall along Don Jesus Boulevard in Barangay Cupang, Muntinlupa City. The said boulevard is accessible through Alabang Hills Village (for those who have AHVA car stickers) and the West Service Road. The significance of the return of Megarahe Sale inside Alabang Hills Village

This past weekend, the annual Megarahe Sale of Alabang Hills Village resumed – fully titled as “Megarahe Sale & Kids Bazaar, Ukay-Okay!” – with the local community center as the venue. I visited the Megarahe Sale twice last weekend and I can confirm that it was a lively event as it attracted a lot of sellers who displayed a wide variety of items, and several buyers arrived and searched. There were also some really nice bargains on display. Take note that this is the first Megarahe Sale to be held in the last few years as the COVID-19 pandemic set everyone back.

A lot of sellers, customers and products during the Megarahe Sale in Alabang Hills this past weekend.
Some products on display.

For the newcomers reading this, the Megarahe Sale is Alabang Hills’ special community event held annually giving the local residents opportunities to sell goods to customers (including visitors who are able to enter the village with valid car stickers issued by the Alabang Hills Village Association) with a single, wide, and comfortable venue that can accommodate a lot of people.

As the name Megarahe shows, it is in concept a collective garage sale with the community in mind. More on the garage sale aspect, AHVA’s annual event spares local residents from having to go through all the trouble of organizing garage sales in their respective homes.

As I mentioned before, the return of Megarahe Sale is a very welcome development in line with the gradual normalization of life. Slowly but surely, people, communities, churches and businesses are recovering from the tremendous setback of COVID-19. At the same time, people nowadays are more educated about COVID-19, they got vaccinated or boosted for improved protection from COVID-19, and the national government already declared the optional use of face masks outdoors. Of course, lots of people have gotten sick and tired of spending so much time at home since the first COVID-19 lockdown started more than two years ago and this in turn fueled their desire to move out, go around and do their activities freely. In my opinion, the Megarahe Sale’s return is a blessing and the AHVA should be commended.

Customers checking out the items for sale.
Missing out on community events like this means missing out on bargains.

Megarahe Sale this year could inspire other residential communities and commercial joints in South Metro Manila to host or organize more community events as the Christmas season gets closer. I have fond memories attending in 2019 the BF HomeSarap food fair in BF Homes (specifically BF NorthWest), the Village Food Fair 2 at Madison Galeries, and Mardi Gras Bazaar 3 also at Madison Galeries. Also a few years ago, I attended a pre-Christmas bazaar inside Alabang Hills Village before the pandemic happened, and I wonder if the AHVA will be organizing a new one this year.

Let me end this piece by asking you readers: If you were able to visit the Megarahe Sale in Alabang Hills this past weekend, what do you think about the event? Were you able to find and buy something? Did you take advantage of the bargains? Do you hope to see the Alabang Hills Village Association organize a pre-Christmas bazaar this November or December for your Christmas shopping needs?

You may answer in the comments below. If you prefer to answer privately, you may do so by sending me a direct message online.

For inquiries about Alabang Hills Village, visit https://alabanghillsvillage.com/ or call their association at 88508254. You can visit their office at 1 Don Jesus Boulevard inside Alabang Hills Village from Monday to Friday, 8AM to 5PM. Always remember to follow their rules and speed limits whenever you are in the village. Be aware also of the recent in-village traffic adjustments.

Tree pruning ongoing inside Alabang Hills Village

If you are a non-resident motorist with a valid AHVA car sticker who constantly passes through Alabang Hills Village in Muntinlupa City, be aware that there are tree pruning operations going on inside the village and you will need to a bit patient with regards to potential reduction of road space or potential obstacles on the road in relation to the pruning.

The Alabang Hills Village Association (AHVA) announced recently to their residents the pruning of trees all around the village which is being done in preparation of the incoming typhoon season. The pruning operations include the rent of a “boom crane” which is to help them reach and cut the higher branches. They also stated that the said crane may not always be available and they may need to do the pruning during weekends. Pruning operations, unsurprisingly, will produce noise and the AHVA asked their residents for their indulgence and understanding.

On a different matter, the issuance of new vehicular stickers for non-resident motorists is ongoing in Alabang Hills. Those of you who need to renew your old AHVA non-resident sticker can apply online at https://alabanghillsvillage.com/sticker/ or you can apply off-line by visit the office at 1 Don Jesus Boulevard inside Alabang Hills Village from Monday to Friday, 8AM to 5PM. Always remember to follow their rules and speed limits whenever you are in the village.

For your reference about the new AHVA stickers.

For more information, call the AHVA at landline 88508254.

2021 Alabang Hills Village car sticker application process for non-residents ongoing

It’s that time once again. Through its official website, the Alabang Hills Village Association (AHVA) announced that the application processing for the 2021 edition of their vehicular stickers specifically for non-residents has officially started since July 19, 2021. Take note that non-AHVA members (which refers to non-residents) need to have the endorsements of another Alabang Hills Village resident, the village association, the school or organization in order to validate the application for non-resident stickers.

The steps are simple and easy to follow. Firstly, applicants seeking non-resident car stickers must click https://alabanghillsvillage.com/vehicle-sticker-application/

Secondly, applicants should follow Step 1 which is to download, print and fill out the 2-page sticker application form. That being said, make sure your printer has enough ink and paper to print the said form. (reminder: non-resident applicants need to have their respective application endorsed first otherwise the AHVA won’t accept their application. That being said, look closely at page 1 of the application form.)

Thirdly, applicants should follow Step 2 which states the payment option and prices. To point things straight, the 1-year car sticker for non-residents is at P1,500 per vehicle while the 2-year car sticker for non-residents is at P2,700 per vehicle. The motorcycle/bike sticker is priced at P350 each.

Still under the non-residents category, commercial vehicles sticker rates are P2,000 per vehicle (four wheels), P2,500 per vehicle (six wheels and up) and P500 each (motorcycle).

Non-residents who need to replacement stickers need to pay P200.

Fourthly, applicants should follow Step 3 which is for them to fill the blanks with their respective details (name, email address, landline or mobile phone number) and upload the signed application form as well as the OR/CR of the vehicle(s). There is also the requirement to click the small box confirming your agreement to AHVA’s private police and use of their website, click another box that you are not a robot, and then click the submit button. All of these are within https://alabanghillsvillage.com/vehicle-sticker-application/ so make sure your Internet connection is on and reliable for uploading.

Once the applicant has been successful with submitting all the requirements online, he/she should allow up to 48 hours’ time for the AHVA to reply.

If you have further questions for the AHVA, send them email at alabanghills@yahoo.com or call them at 8850-8254 local 105, 106 and 107. AHVA offices operate 8AM to 5PM Monday to Friday, and 8AM to 12PM on Saturday.

If you wish to learn more, visit AHVA’s official website at https://alabanghillsvillage.com/

COVID-19 Crisis: Are you anticipating the new vehicular stickers from Alabang Hills Village Association? You are not alone!

Disclaimer: This is my original work with details sourced from my sources within Alabang Hills Village in Muntinlupa City, Philippines. Anyone who wants to use this article, in part or in whole, needs to secure first my permission and agree to cite me as the source and author. Let it be known that any unauthorized use of this article will constrain the author to pursue the remedies under R.A. No. 8293, the Revised Penal Code, and/or all applicable legal actions under the laws of the Philippines.

The coronavirus disease COVID-19 that started in China clearly halted societies and economies around the world, reaching to the point of pushing the less fortunate people to despair.

Here in the south of Metro Manila, villages that had confirmed cases of COVID-19 among their residents tightened access into their territory as a means of preventing the risk of infection. This is not surprising at all and it is quite understandable.

At this time of the year, it is normal for motorists to prepare themselves in anticipation of the new edition of the vehicular stickers (residents and non-residents) from the Alabang Hills Village Association (AHVA). For the newcomers reading this, Alabang Hills Village (Muntinlupa City) strategically connects to BF Homes (via Tirona Street gate), Alabang-Zapote Road, the long road (Don Jesus Boulevard) leading to other communities, Madison Galeries and the service road by the highway. Alabang Hills is also where San Beda College Alabang and New Life Church are located at. These factors make AHVA vehicular stickers a must-have. Back in July 2019, I published the story about the 2-year vehicular sticker for non-residents. I also published about the 1-year non-resident vehicular sticker.

Of course, due to this ongoing pandemic, things are still looking uncertain this year as to when the AHVA will issue the next edition of their vehicular stickers (Year 2020) for both residents and non-residents. The people whose old AHVA vehicular stickers are about to expire are unsurprisingly concerned.

I reached out to the AHVA for answers:

As of this writing, the AHVA still has yet to make a formal announcement about the 2020 edition of their vehicular stickers. This means no registration process yet, no issuance of new stickers too.

That being said, the AHVA did confirm to me however the following:

1) Motorists with valid non-resident vehicular stickers are allowed to enter the village. – Just today, I did exactly this before doing a U-turn to exit the same gate I entered (because the places I tried to visit inside were both closed). It was the Alabang Hills Alabang-Zapote gate specifically.

2) The old AHVA vehicular stickers are still valid at as long as there are still no new stickers (Year 2020) formally announced. – This news I got from the AVHA and from two of their gate security guards should provide some relief to those who were worried about their AHVA stickers expiring this year. Your old stickers are still valid as of now.

So there you have it, my readers and fellow residents of South Metro Manila! If you want to help others who have vested interests in Alabang Hills Village, please share this article to them.

While waiting, you are free to contact AHVA at landlines 8850-8254 and 8850-9631, and email address ahvainc08@yahoo.com.

Where to Donate to Help Victims of Taal Volcano Eruption

It is depressing to watch news or see social media postings about many people whose lives got disrupted by the recent eruption of Taal Volcano which spew not only a massive amount of ash into the air (affecting Metro Manila) but also caused physical damage on all communities close to it.

Many people had to leave their homes and wait for assistance from the many emergency response personnel (who are undoubtedly working hard) deployed by the local authorities.

Meanwhile, several donation-driven initiatives or charitable operations to provide public assistance (in cash or in kind) to the victims were launched very recently. For its part, the City Government of Muntinlupa approved legislation of a P3,000,000 donation to Taal Volcano Eruption victims. The City Government also launched a public donation drive as well.

My Observations: Mardi Gras Bazaar 3 at Madison Galeries

Hey everyone! This morning I made the trip to Madison Galeries in Barangay Cupang, Alabang, Muntinlupa City to visit their Mardi Gras Bazaar 3 activity which was held at their 3rd floor facility. The bazaar, which is my first time to visit and look around, officially opened today and will last until tomorrow (November 24).

Upon entering the Madison Events Place, I saw sections of many kinds of products displayed and waiting to be sold. Already there were lots of people shopping, looking for the best deals and trying to decide which items to buy for their needs or for gift-giving this Christmas.

20191123_102657.jpg
Lots of nice looking stuff at this side of the venue.

20191123_102930.jpg
Wanna save P349.75 for a rice cooker that also serves as a lunch heater?

What caught my attention instantly were the discounted rates on all the products offered. There were these electric fans of varied sizes (from the personal mini-fans to the desk fans) that had these attractive prices. The same can be said about pillows, dolls, tumblers, rice cookers, toys, home appliances, some electronic products and many other times that were displayed.

After looking around initially and carefully analyzing what to choose for Christmas gift-giving (which is the main purpose of my visit today), I finally went ahead choosing five items. Because I did not have a bag, I carefully picked the five items and carried them as I lined up for checkout.

20191123_102753.jpg
The products for sale were placed in an organized fashion.

20191123_103021.jpg
This where customers line up for check-out and paying. There were sufficient people assisting.

At the cashier, an assistant helped me put the items for checking. I asked if they had a bag I could use to carry them on my way out, and the lady behind the counter said they had one for P25. After agreeing to it, they brought out a really large shopping bag. It was so large, there was still a lot of vacant space inside even though my items were in it. The shopping bag is reusable and I like that!

And so I left Mardi Gras Bazaar 3 feeling happy and satisfied. I achieved my objective of finding some good items for Christmas gift-giving. Now I’ll have to wrap these items.

For those of you reading this, I highly recommend going to Mardi Gras Bazaar 3 at Madison Galeries ASAP if you really have to shop for your needs or for your Christmas gift-giving plans. Tomorrow is the last day already! Today was my first time ever to attend a Mardi Gras Bazaar at the Alabang shopping mall, and it was a good experience.

Oh yes, I should mention that Madison Galeries has a very nice looking Christmas tree at the ground floor that you should see. Really nice for picture taking!

20191123_104613.jpg
I like this very much!

It is the same air-conditioned, indoor venue where the successful Village Food Fair 2 was held and this means shoppers can go around looking for goods to buy in comfort. The hours for the bazaar is from 10AM to 9PM on each day.

The bazaar organizers promised that there will be a discount of up to 80% off on what they described to be a huge selection of toys, house ware, gadgets, accessories, gift items and other things that could suit your needs or your Christmas shopping goals.

For the newcomers reading this, Madison Galeries is located along Don Jesus Boulevard between Alabang Hills Village and the West Service Road in Muntinlupa City. BF Homes residents who intend to go to the mall without using the service road can pass through Alabang Hills Village provided that their vehicles have valid non-resident car stickers issued by the Alabang Hills Village Association.

For your personal needs or Christmas shopping needs, consider Mardi Gras Bazaar 3 and mark November 23 and 24 on your calendar.
