Muntinlupa City Government tells motorists to brace for heavy traffic as Skyway begins construction in West Service Road

Muntinlupa City Government tells motorists to brace for heavy traffic as Skyway begins construction in West Service Road

Traffic along the highway will only get heavier soon as the City Government of Muntinlupa advised motorists and commuters to get ready for worse traffic as the construction of Skyway Extension Project in West Service Road takes full swing.

Specifically, starting February 16, operator Skyway O&M Corp. and project contractors EEI Corp. and Cadcor Builders and Trading Corp. will break ground in West Service Road from southbound Alabang At-grade Toll Exit to Alabang Hills Subdivision.

“We are scheduled to drill 38 bored piles for eight weeks. Target timetable involves six weeks of construction from Alabang Toll Exit to Alabang Hills and two weeks for the remaining areas up to Sucat Interchange,” Cadcor representative Joselito Fajardo said.

With the construction of Skyway Extension Project, Skyway’s Lane 3 southbound and the northbound lane of West Service Road will be closed.

Muntinlupa Traffic Management Bureau chief Danidon Nolasco said upon coordination with Skyway, one-way traffic will be implemented from South Station to Alabang Hills Subdivision for southbound while traffic up to Sucat Interchange will remain two-way.

He added that Skyway is set to open a temporary opening near the South Station Exit to allow vehicles to pass through from West Service Road to Alabang Viaduct.

With the anticipated heavy traffic in Muntinlupa, Nolasco asked Skyway executives to augment the City Government’s traffic management efforts especially in choke points including East Service Road, Sucat Interchange, and Alabang Viaduct.

This past January 23, the City Government organized a stakeholders meeting with Skyway execs and representatives of commercial establishments and homeowners associations (HOAs) situated in West Service Road to discuss traffic advisories and construction updates.

Skyway Traffic Operations head Jerry Torres said that southbound Alabang At-grade and Bunye South Station Exits will also be closed starting February 16 until completion of the project. Torres said motorists may take the SLEX Filinvest or Susana Exit Toll Plaza.

For Class 1 and 2 vehicles from Makati headed to Alabang or Alabang-Zapote Road, motorists may take the Filinvest Exit then turn right at Corporate Ave, then right Civic Drive, and right again to Corporate Ave, then turn right to Alabang-Zapote Road towards destination.

For Class 1, 2, and 3 vehicles headed to Alabang, Putatan, and National Road, motorists may take the Susana Exit then turn right at Susana Heights Ave, and turn either left or right on National Road to destination.

The Skyway Extension Project is expected to be completed on December 2020.

8-million-strong Christians United for Israel produce cutting-edge documentary — ‘Never Again?’

8-million-strong Christians United for Israel produce cutting-edge documentary — ‘Never Again?’

SAN ANTONIO, Texas — From Pittsburgh to Poway anti-Semitism is increasing in both prevalence and violence in the U.S. and around the world. But the nation’s largest pro-Israel organization – Christians United for Israel – is fighting back and has produced NEVER AGAIN?, a cutting-edge, feature-length documentary to expose and combat increasing violence and bigotry.

NEVER AGAIN? premieres in 800 theaters nationwide for two nights only Oct. 13 and 14 at 7 p.m., local time. The documentary is distributed through Fathom Events.

“Violent anti-Semitism is rising across the country, and people of conscience cannot sit idly by,” said CUFI founder and Chairman Pastor John Hagee. “Anti-Semites have used the fertile ground of ignorance to grow their malicious ideology. If we are to stem the tide, we must inoculate the next generation against the world’s oldest hatred by empowering them with knowledge and reaching them with a message of unity. If we are to fulfill the promise of Never Again, we cannot allow the memory of the Holocaust to fade.”

The film from the 8-million member CUFI could not be more timely. Just this month, 200 survivors of the infamous Auschwitz Nazi extermination camp gathered for Holocaust Remembrance Day. At almost the same time, Pew Research showed 45 percent of Americans did not know 6 million Jews died in the Holocaust.

“Viewers of the film will be guided by a Holocaust Survivor and a former radical Islamist,” said Producer Rick Eldridge, CEO of ReelWorks Studios. “They will learn about the history of anti-Semitism and come to understand why all of us, regardless of faith or political persuasion, have a responsibility to keep the promise of Never Again.”

NEVER AGAIN? will engage contemporary audiences with the horrific events of 75 years ago and demonstrate why they must be understood and remembered by the coming generation.

“This is not your parents’ documentary,” said CUFI co-executive director Shari Dollinger. “It meets the audience where they are, engaging them in a modern and cutting-edge manner. If we’re not to see history repeat itself, we must ensure the next generation learns the lessons of the past.”

About Christians United for Israel (CUFI)

As the largest pro-Israel grassroots organization in the United States, Christians United for Israel is also the only Christian organization devoted to transforming millions of pro-Israel Christians into an educated, empowered, and effective force for Israel. PRESS RELEASE: New Clark City Hosts Successful Inaugural Triathlon

NEW CLARK CITY HOSTS SUCCESSFUL INAUGURAL TRIATHLON

More than a thousand athletes participated in the first-ever triathlon held in New Clark City from October 19-20, 2019. The event, organized by the GoClark Sports and Events and the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA), welcomed participants from all ages with the hosting of the Kids’ Triathlon, fun run, and the major triathlon race.

“We’re fortunate that a lot of spectators supported the event. Hopefully these sports facilities will eventually help promote wellness and healthy living for many Filipinos. Seeing the faces of the participants, they were so happy. It’s just the beginning of what’s more to come [here in New Clark City] in the next few years,” BCDA President and CEO Vince Dizon said.

Dizon added that the race was another opportunity to test the sports facilities before the SEA Games which will run from November 30 to December 11. Official Test games will start next week and will be participated by international athletes.

Participants raced at the world-class Athletics Stadium, Aquatics Center, and the new access road from New Clark City to the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway which will boost connectivity in Central Luzon.

There were also para-athletes who joined the race.

“This event proves that you don’t have to be an elite athlete to do this sport,” says GoClark Sports and Events Director Jumbo Tayag.

Triathlon silver medalist John “Rambo” Chicano who will compete in this year’s 30th South East Asian Games are a huge help for national athletes as they train for competitions.

“Napakalaking tulong ng ganitong facility para sa aming mga atleta kasi ‘di na namin kailangan mag-overseas na training camp so ‘yun pa lang, makakatipid na kami kasi pamasahe pa lang ‘tsaka accommodation din malaki. Sa ganitong paraan, nakakatipid na. Nakaka-engganyo pa tayo ng kabataan [to turn to sports] dito sa Clark,” Chicano said.

“[For] Filipino athletes, to do the SEA Games in front of the home crowd is one of our biggest opportunities to promote our sport, triathlon. To showcase that we are good in endurance sports and that it should be given so much funding,” Gold medalist triathlete Nikko Huelgas underscored. “Kasi ‘pag tinutulungan ‘yung Philippine sports mas naiinspire ‘yung buong bayan to engage in sports and nabibigyan ng opportunities ‘yung mga tao magkaroon ng magandang buhay. Sports gives you a better life.”

Both the Athletics Stadium and Aquatics Center meet the standards of international governing bodies, the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) and Federation Internationale de Natation (FINA).
