Five Drug Suspects Arrested In ParaƱaque City And lllegal Drugs Worth P91 Million Seized

Recently in the City of ParaƱaque, local police officers successfully pulled off a major anti-drug operation that resulted in five suspects ā€“ including one former policeman ā€“ arrested and the seizure of illegal drugs worth more than P91 million, according to a Manila Bulletin news report.

A former policeman and four alleged high-value drug suspects were arrested in a major anti-drug operation that led to the seizure of more than P91 million worth of suspected shabu and high-powered firearms in ParaƱaque City on Friday, April 10.

Operatives of the Southern Police District (SPD) Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) identified the suspects as alias Bossing, 35; James, 49, a resigned member of the Philippine National Police (PNP); Jezreel, 29; Hazel, 25; and alias ā€œRicardo,ā€ 48.

All five were tagged as newly identified high-value individuals (HVIs) and were apprehended during a buy-bust operation conducted in Sun Valley, ParaƱaque, following days of surveillance and intelligence monitoring.

Authorities said the operation was launched in coordination with other police units to dismantle a suspected drug syndicate operating in the southern Metro Manila.

Confiscated during the sting were approximately 13.389 kilograms of suspected shabu and five containers of liquid crystalline substance, with a combined estimated Standard drug price of P91,045,200.

Police also recovered two .45-caliber pistols, a Bushmaster rifle, communication devices, and P319,950 cash.

Authorities said the presence of high-powered firearms indicates the groupā€™s capability to protect their illegal activities, raising concerns over the potential violence linked to drug trafficking operations.

ā€œThis operation sends a clear message that no drug syndicate is beyond our reach. The Southern Police District will relentlessly pursue those involved in the illegal drug trade and ensure they are brought to justice,ā€ said acting SPD director Col. Glenn Oliver Cinco.

Two individuals, including a newly identified big-time drug personality, were arrested in a buy-bust operation launched by the ParaƱaque City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) early Wednesday morning, April 8.

ParaƱaque City Police chief Col. Nicolas PiƱon identified the suspects as Roy, 33, tagged as a high-value drug dealer, and Rafael, 54, classified as a street-level drug suspect.

They were apprehended at around 12:05 a.m. on Tulips Street in Tramo Uno, ParaƱaque City.

Police said the operation was carried out in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) after the suspects were placed under monitoring for alleged involvement in illegal drug activities.

An undercover operative was able to purchase suspected shabu from the suspects, which led to their immediate arrest.

Authorities recovered nine heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing approximately 210 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated value of ā‚±1,428,000.

Recently in the City of ParaƱaque, a Japanese national got duped, assaulted and robbed by three transgendered suspects inside a hotel room and one of them eventually got arrested, according to a Manila Bulletin news report. A manhunt has been launched to find the two transgendered suspects who escaped.

A supposed dating app meet-up turned into a violent incident after a Japanese national was allegedly duped, assaulted, and robbed by three transgender suspects inside a hotel room in ParaƱaque City on April 8.

ParaƱaque City Police chief Col. Nicolas Pinon identified the victim as Uri, 26, who was staying at Seaside Drive, Entertainment City, Barangay Tambo.

Police arrested one of the suspects, identified as Justine, while two others, known only as Riley and Kitty, managed to escape and are now the subject of a manhunt.

According to the victim, he met Riley through a dating app and agreed to meet at his hotel room. Riley later arrived with companions Justine and Kitty.

Once inside, the suspects allegedly stripped the victim and forced him to perform a sexual act. They then demanded P20,000 each, but the victim refused.

The situation escalated when the suspects allegedly assaulted himā€”kicking him and threatening him with a stun gun pointed at his faceā€”forcing him to comply and agree to withdraw money.

Police said Justine accompanied the victim to an ATM, where Uri discreetly sought help by typing ā€œPlease help meā€ on his phone and showing it to a hotel receptionist.

The receptionist immediately alerted hotel security, and with the help of a Japanese interpreter, authorities were able to arrest Justine.

However, upon returning to his room, the victim discovered that the remaining suspects had fled and his belongings had been ransacked. Around 200,000 yuan and P9,000 in cash were reported missing.

Justine is now detained at the ParaƱaque police custodial facility and faces robbery charges.

Police arrested two high-value targets and seized more than P3.7 million worth of shabu in a buy-bust operation in ParaƱaque City.

ParaƱaque City Police chief Col. Nicolas Pinon said the suspects, identified as Toto, 52, and Ronnie, 53, both residents of Manuyo Dos, Las PiƱas City, were arrested in Barangay San Isidro.

Pinon said the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) launched the operation after receiving information that the suspects, though based in Las PiƱas, were conducting illegal drug activities in ParaƱaque.

The suspects were caught selling 25 grams of shabu worth P170,000 to an undercover police officer. Further search led to the recovery of 11 additional sachets of shabu weighing about 525 grams, valued at P3,750,000, inside a black eco bag.

In total, authorities confiscated around 550 grams of shabu worth P3,740,000, along with a Redmi cellphone and the buy-bust money.

The suspects are now detained at the police custodial facility and face charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Brig. Gen. Randy Arceo, Southern Police District (SPD) director, said the arrest highlights the policeā€™s continued commitment to combating illegal drugs.

Col. Nicolas Pinon, ParaƱaque City Police chief, identified the suspects as Wowie, 51; Miguel, 20; and Alex, 50. They were apprehended at around 1:51 a.m. on Pelaez Street in Barangay San Dionisio, ParaƱaque City.

Pinon said the suspects were on the police watchlist for illegal drug activities.

An undercover police officer acting as a poseur-buyer was able to transact with the suspects for the purchase of shabu, which led to their arrest. Authorities confiscated about 15 grams of shabu worth P102,000, along with the buy-bust money.

Authorities arrested two suspects in a motorcycle theft after a 46-year-old man reported his Yamaha Fassio has been missing since March 23 in ParaƱaque City.

ParaƱaque City Police Chief Col. Nicolas Pinon identified the suspects as Abdul, 33, and Eric, 33, both residents of Taguig City. They were apprehended along Pajero Street in Barangay Sun Valley, ParaƱaque City.

According to Pinon, the victim said he parked his motorcycle in a designated parking area. However, when he returned, the vehicle was already missing. The victim immediately sought assistance and reported the incident to authorities at the Sun Valley Substation.

A hot pursuit operation was launched which led to the arrest of the suspects. Police said one of them was driving a white Honda PCX motorcycle while assisting his accomplice using the ā€œtulak paaā€ maneuver.

Authorities recovered the stolen motorcycle. Police also found a hand grenade in Eric’s possession, while Abdul yielded six grams of shabu worth P40,800.

Recently in the City of ParaƱaque, the local police apprehended five suspects for the theft of copper cables worth more than P200,000, according to a news report by the Manila Bulletin. A local security guard caught them in the act and called the police.

Police arrested five individuals involved in the theft of underground copper cables in ParaƱaque City on Sunday, March 22.

ParaƱaque City Police Chief Col. Nicolas PiƱon identified the suspects as John, Roel, George, Bryan, and Adrian. They were apprehended at around 4:50 a.m. along KM 17 West Service Road in Barangay Marcelo Green.

PiƱon said the suspects were arrested after a security guard noticed suspicious activity involving a parked vehicle and five men forcibly pulling underground copper cables.

The security guard immediately alerted their zone commander, who coordinated with the Marcelo Green Police Substation, leading to the arrest of the suspects who were caught in the act.

Recovered from the suspects were copper cables worth P201,218.64, cutting tools, and a utility vehicle.

The suspects are currently detained at the police custodial facility and are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 10515, also known as the Anti-Cable Television and Cable Internet Tapping Act of 2013.

Muntinlupa Mayor Ruffy Biazon signed a City Council resolution opposing the ParaƱaque Spillway Project which will displace families in the city.

Muntinlupa Resolution No. 2026-275 reiterates ā€œthe City of Muntinlupa’s opposition to the implementation of Paranaque Spillway Project.ā€

ā€œPinirmahan ko ang Resolution No. 2026-275 na muling nagpapatibay sa opisyal na pagtutol ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa sa ParaƱaque Spillway Project. Noon pang unang termino ko, malinaw na ang posisyon natin dito. Tutol tayo dahil sa direktang epekto sa komunidad, lao sa mga lehitimong residenteng madi-displace ng proyekto (I signed Resolution No. 2026-275 which reaffirms the official opposition of the City of Muntinlupa to the ParaƱaque Spillway Project. Since my first term, our position on this has been clear. We oppose it because of the direct impact on the community, especially on the legitimate residents who will be displaced by the project), said Biazon.

Biazon said in 2022 the city held a public hearing about the project. In 2023, Biazon sent a letter to the Department of Public Works and Highways to express his opposition to the project. A resolution was passed in 2024 about this.

ā€œMaging ang ating mga barangay ay nagpahayag na rin ng pagtutol, gaya ng naging desisyon ng Barangay Buli noong 2021 na humihiling na ilipat ang proyekto sa mas angkop na lugar. Sa pinakahuling resolusyon na primarily authored by Konsehal Jonas Abadilla, binibigyang-diin din na bumubuo ang lungsod ng isang komprehensibong drainage master plan para sa pangmatagalang solusyon sa pagbaha sa Muntinlupa (Even our barangays have expressed their opposition, such as the decision of Barangay Buli in 2021 requesting the relocation of the project to a more suitable location. In the latest resolution primarily authored by Councilor Jonas Abadilla, it is also emphasized that the city is developing a comprehensive drainage master plan for a long-term solution to flooding in Muntinlupa),ā€ the mayor added.

The new resolution stated that the DPWH announced that the project will proceed this year.

In February, Biazon signed a memorandum of agreement with the ā€œUniversity of the Philippines (UP), for the formulation of Drainage Master Plan for the City Of Muntinlupa, aimed to develop its Drainage Master Plan (DMP), which will serve as the basis for the city’s comprehensive flood management strategy.ā€

ā€œThe City of Muntinlupa reiterates its stand that The Project proponents should present concrete alternate solutions that will lessen/mitigate The Projectā€™s impact on the constituents of the City, more particularly the people of Barangay Buli,ā€ according to the resolution.

It added, ā€œThe sentiments of the most affected barangay in the City of Muntinlupa was embodied in Kapasiyahang Barangay ng Buli Bilang 018-2021 Serye 2021 or Kapasiyahang Barangay na Naglalayong Ipalipat sa Orihinal na Planong Pagtatayuan nito o sa iba pang Angkop na Lugar ang Proyekto ng Gobyerno na ā€˜Paranaque Spillway.ā€™ā€

Southie Fest, a special event organized by South Snippets and its strategic partners, formally opened yesterday at the Carousel area of Festival Mall in Filinvest City, Alabang. A showcase of varied products and services offered by mostly business joints of the south, Southie Fest will last until Sunday (March 15).

I personally witnessed the opening of Southie Fest. There was a panel discussion wherein three local entrepreneurs shared insight about their respective businesses, how they managed their enterprise through the years, and what they learned from the many local communities of the south. South Snippets co-founder Donna Santiago was with them and she also shared insight about the organizationā€™s drive of promoting businesses and connecting them with people of the South. Santiago confirmed that she is organizing South Snippets full-time.

I had a very tasty avocado shake there at Southie Fest. This one costs P120 and it is of very good quality.

Within the Carousel area ā€“ 2nd floor specifically ā€“ are lots of booths/stalls of varied local businesses offering customers a wide range of selections of food, beverages, accessories, collectibles, clothing, gift items, handcrafted items, services and a lot more. You really have to be there to truly discover them.

Today, a ā€œSouthie Community Dayā€ session will take place which will emphasize he community members and local digital trendsetters. It will help people understand who the Southie influencers and content creators are and what they do to inspire the community as they promote their respective platforms. There will be Q&A interviews, interactive games, and meet-and-greet opportunities.

On Sunday, the ā€œSouthie Family Dayā€ will wrap up the event. Participants can dive into a variety of interactive workshops, creative classes, and community workout sessions. There will lots of things or experiences that participants can discover, and even learn from.

Southie Fest is a special showcase by South SnippetsĀ®, with support from JNE Branding Consultancy, Festival Mall, Aly Olaez, Neil de Belen Studios, Nextgen Events Management, Design Specs Printing Services, Carlo Suzara: Host & Content Creator, Terraland Pines, Kato Fertility Center, and the City Government of Muntinlupa.
