Wanted 20-Year-Old Man Arrested In Parañaque City

Police arrested a 20-year-old man ranked as the No. 2 most wanted person (station level) in Parañaque City on Jan. 28.

The Southern Police District (SPD) identified the suspect as Ckant, who was classified as a high-value fugitive. He was arrested at around 5:18 p.m. within the premises of SM City Sucat in Barangay San Dionisio, Parañaque City.

The SPD said the arrest was carried out by members of the Parañaque City Police Warrant and Subpoena Section through the service of a warrant of arrest.

The warrant was issued on Jan. 22 by Judge Moises Domingo De Castro, presiding judge of the Parañaque Family Court Branch 10, with no bail recommended.

SPD Director Brig. Gen. Randy Arceo said the arrest of the suspect, who ranked second on the police priority list for February, demonstrates the district’s unwavering resolve to pursue those who commit crimes against the public.

Operatives from the Parañaque City Police Warrant and Subpoena Section, in coordination with Baclaran Police Substation 1, apprehended the suspect, identified as Abubakar, 39, at his residence in Barangay Baclaran.

The suspect was nabbed by virtue of a warrant of arrest for robbery with homicide issued on January 14 by the Pasay City Regional Trial Court Branch 110, with no bail recommended.

A barber listed as the No. 2 Most Wanted Person at the municipal level in Dulag, Leyte, for qualified rape, was arrested in a highly coordinated police operation in Las Piñas City on Jan. 25.

Las Piñas City Police chief Col. Wilson Delos Santos identified the suspect as alias “Boy,” 41, a resident of Barangay Talon 1, Las Piñas City.

Delos Santos said the arrest was carried out through a joint operation of the Dulag Municipal Police Station (MPS) and the Las Piñas City Police, particularly its Warrant and Subpoena Section.

The suspect was nabbed by virtue of a warrant of arrest for qualified rape of a minor issued on July 7, 2025 by Judge Avelino Decoroso M. Basco of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 34, Tacloban City, with no recommended bail.

Japanese Senior Citizen Severely Beaten And Robbed In Parañaque City

This past weekend in the city of Parañaque, a 62-year-old Japanese national got severely beaten and robbed by the suspect who temporarily got away with the cash (including foreign currency) and the Japanese passport, according to a GMA Network news report. The suspect was eventually arrested in Barangay San Dionisio.

A 62-year-old Japanese man sustained severe injuries after he was attacked in Parañaque City by a suspect who stole his bag containing cash and other valuables.

According to John Consulta’s Monday report on “24 Oras,” a viral video showed the suspect repeatedly striking the victim on the head while the latter was lying on the ground.

The suspect then grabbed the victim’s bag and fled as if nothing had happened. Authorities responded to the incident after receiving a report from a concerned citizen.

Meanwhile, the victim was found with his head, clothing and hat covered in blood. They recovered the wooden stick used in the attack.

Police said the victim may have been birdwatching in a wetland park area when he was attacked around 11 a.m. on Saturday. Stolen was cash amounting to P30,000 and Y30,000 (around P11,500) as well as a mobile phone and Japanese passport.

Authorities said communicating with the victim was difficult since he does not understand English.

Barangay officials said the victim sustained a crack in the skull and a partially split ear, which required stitches. He also suffered from swelling around the eye and is currently receiving treatment in a hospital.

In a statement, the SPD identified the suspect as 49-year-old “Ariel”, who was arrested in a subdivision on Monday evening.

Recovered from the suspect were the victim’s sling bag, an iPhone 14, earpods, a Japanese passport, identification cards, an ATM card, a boarding pass, assorted Japanese coins, among others.

Ariel was brought to the hospital where the victim positively identified him.

A complaint for robbery with violence or intimidation of persons under Article 294 of the Revised Penal Code is being prepared against the suspect, according to the police.

Authorities from the Parañaque City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) arrested two suspected drug pushers during a buy-bust operation on January 14.

The Southern Police District (SPD) identified the suspects as Abet, 38, a housekeeper, and Rol, 28. They were apprehended at around 7:35 p.m. at Centro Purok 7, Barangay Moonwalk, Parañaque City.

Police said operatives of the Parañaque City Police SDEU conducted the operation after Abet allegedly sold shabu to an undercover police officer.

Seized from Abet were five grams of shabu and two additional heat-sealed transparent sachets containing about 50 grams, with an estimated value of P374,000, including boodle money.

Meanwhile, operatives recovered from Rol approximately five grams of shabu worth P34,000.

In total, authorities confiscated about 60 grams of shabu valued at P408,000.

The suspects were brought to the Parañaque City Police SDEU custodial facility and were charged with violations of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Authorities arrested a drug suspect identified as a high-value individual (HVI) after he was caught selling shabu to an undercover police operative, resulting in the seizure of P476,000 worth of illegal drugs in Parañaque City on Jan. 17.

The Southern Police District (SPD) identified the suspect as MJ, 21, who was arrested at around 3:05 a.m. along Bayabas Street, Purok 7, Sampaloc Site 2, Parañaque.

Police said MJ was apprehended by operatives of the Parañaque City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit during a buy-bust operation while he was allegedly selling shabu to an undercover officer.

Recovered during the operation were approximately 70 grams of shabu, consisting of one heat-sealed plastic sachet weighing about five grams, which served as the subject of sale, and 13 additional sachets weighing approximately 65 grams.

Also confiscated were the marked buy-bust money, a pink coin purse, and a green-cased iPhone cellular phone allegedly used in the transaction.

Authorities from the Las Piñas City Police arrested two Indian nationals after swiftly resolving a robbery incident through a hot-pursuit operation aided by Global Positioning System (GPS) technology on Friday, Jan. 16.

Las Piñas Police Chief Col. Sandro Tafalla identified the suspects as “Sukhwinder,” 27, and “Jasdeep,” 33, both Indian nationals and residents of Taytay, Rizal. They were arrested at Villa Fidela Subdivision, Barangay Elias, Las Piñas City.

Tafalla said the victim, also an Indian national, 34, reported that he was approached by two men while parking his motorcycle in front of his residence. The suspects allegedly forcibly took his iPhone 16 Pro worth P73,000 and P10,000 in cash.

The victim added that after taking his valuables, the suspects immediately fled on board a motorcycle.

In a rapid, technology-driven response, Tafalla said responding police officers coordinated with the victim to activate the GPS feature of the stolen mobile phone, which led to the arrest of the suspects.

Authorities successfully recovered the stolen iPhone 16 Pro, the P10,000 cash, and a Motoposh EVO 150 motorcycle bearing plate number N580QH, along with the black-and-white helmets and red jacket allegedly worn by the suspects during the incident.

Philippines Grants 14-Day Visa-Free Entry To Chinese Visitors

In what is clearly a bid to enhance tourism, investments and trade, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) announced that Chinese nationals are being granted visa-free entry into the Philippines and they are allowed to stay up to fourteen days, according to a GMA Network news report.

The Philippines continues to fail to attract enough foreign tourists and the growth of the national economy clearly slowed down in recent times.

The Philippines is granting visa-free entry to Chinese nationals starting January 16 in its bid to increase Chinese trade, investments and tourists, the Department of Foreign Affairs said Thursday.

Under the new policy, Chinese nationals may enter the Philippines without the requirement of obtaining a visa for a stay of up to 14 days.

“This is in line with the President’s directive to facilitate trade, investments, and tourism, as well as strengthen people-to-people exchanges between the Philippines and China,” the DFA said in a statement.

Such visa-free entry arrangement will be in effect for one year and will be reviewed accordingly before it expires.

The visa-free privilege will be valid for entry only through the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Metro Manila and the Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA) in Cebu.

Upon arrival, Chinese nationals need to present a passport valid for at least six months beyond the intended stay, confirmed hotel accommodation/booking, and a return or onward ticket to the next country of destination.

“Chinese nationals traveling to the Philippines strictly for tourism or business purposes may avail of the new visa-free entry privilege,” the DFA said.

However, the DFA said visas (cannot) be extended beyond the allowable 14-day stay and is non-convertible to any other type of Philippine visa category.

Estonian Vlogger Arrested In Dumaguete City

Over in Dumaguete City, an Estonian Vlogger who runs the YouTube channel Pro Life Traveler was apprehended by operatives of the Bureau of Immigration (BI) for allegedly harassing Filipinos and causing other forms of disturbance (example: asking inappropriate questions to underage women), the authorities announced online. The arrest was done in coordination with the local Philippine National Police (PNP) officers and barangay officials.

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has arrested and moved to deport an Estonian vlogger, declaring that the Philippines will no longer tolerate foreign content creators who harass locals, provoke public outrage, and turn Filipino communities into viral spectacle.

BI Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado said the case echoes the infamous deportation of Russian vlogger Vitaly Zdorovetskiy, calling it a repeat pattern of foreign vloggers abusing the country’s openness for shock content and online fame. The arrest, according to Viado, is in line with President Ferdinand ‘Bong Bong’ Marcos, Jr.’s directive to ensure that foreign nationals who fail to follow Philippine laws face appropriate sanctions.

“This is another Vitaly case — different person, same behavior,” Viado said. “A foreign vlogger comes here, disrespects Filipinos, violates our laws, and thinks he can hide behind a camera and a social media following. That ends here,” he stressed firmly.

Viado said authorities acted after local officials in Negros Oriental declared the vlogger persona non grata, citing complaints of harassment, unauthorized filming, offensive remarks, and online content that demeaned Filipinos. The city council resolution was endorsed to national agencies, triggering enforcement action and the foreigner’s arrest.

The Estonian vlogger, identified as Siim Roosipuu, 34, was arrested by BI intelligence operatives and anti-terrorist group on January 15, in coordination with the Philippine National Police (PNP) Dumaguete City Police Station and Barangay Cantil-e officials.

Roosipuu ran a YouTube channel called ‘Pro Life Traveler’, and allegedly harasses Filipinos, including minors. Videos of him chasing and asking inappropriate questions to underage women circulated on social media.

“The Philippines is not a content playground,” Viado said. “We welcome tourists and legitimate creators, but anyone who exploits our people for views, clicks, or profit will face arrest, deportation, and blacklisting,” he stated.

The BI stressed that harassment, public disturbance, and disrespect — whether done for entertainment or monetized online — are serious violations that will not be excused under the guise of vlogging.
