NLCOM helps alleviate the loss and despair of fire victims in Barangay Pilar Village, Las Piñas City

Recently in the City of Las Piñas, New Life Community Care Foundation International, Inc. (NLCOM) – the compassion arm of New Life Philippines located inside Alabang Hills Village in Muntinlupa City – sent a team to help fire victims in Barangay Pilar Village recover by providing them more assistance and this includes the conducting of Psychological First Aid.

As the 125 families affected by the second-alarm fire in Maligaya Compound, Brgy. Pilar, Las Piñas continue to tread their paths to recovery, NLCOM carried on with extending help and ministering to them in the past five weeks.

We were able to promote healthy recuperation in the children by conducting Psychological First Aid, aside from the weekly feeding of hot meals for the families and fun kiddie activities. It was such a sight of grace to see how the kids would excitedly gather as soon as they see the team and would ask for more activities, not wanting it to end. To see the grown-ups grinning while watching the children enjoy and to hear many of them express their appreciation for the time spent with them was truly heartening.

We responded with the desire to alleviate the loss and despair that they are feeling. It may only have been momentary, but the compassion bestowed surely etched a long-lasting mark in their hearts.

Recently in the City of Parañaque, a fire razed several homes in Barangay San Isidro which affected three hundred families.

In response, New Life Community Care Foundation International, Inc. (NLCOM) – the compassion arm of New Life Philippines located inside Alabang Hills Village in Muntinlupa City – sent a team to the location and prepared hot meals for the affected families.

Another fire incident swept a residential area in Barangay San Isidro, Parañaque last Tuesday evening, February 27, 2024. The approximately 300 families (around 900 individuals) displaced are temporarily housed in San Dionisio Gym.

Our NLCOM team, being always , was able to serve families with hot cooked meals last Saturday afternoon. While the devastation in the fire victims could not be denied, what stood out more was the hope gleaming in the eyes of every individual the team was able to engage with.

Their smiles and heartfelt “thank you’s” showed their remarkable resilience in this time of adversity. Their unity and cooperation as they patiently lined up truly showed the spirit of “Bayanihan.”

Recently in the City of Las Piñas, a fire broke out in Maligaya Compound within Barangay Pilar Village which destroyed about thirty homes and left many residents homeless.

In response, New Life Community Care Foundation International, Inc. (NLCOM) – the compassion arm of New Life Philippines located inside Alabang Hills Village in Muntinlupa City – sent a team to the location and prepared hot meals for hundreds of victims.

Today, NLCOM reached out and served hot meals the whole day – Pancit Canton and Chicken Adobo to the 399 individuals who were affected in the fire that started in Maligaya Compound in Barangay Pilar, Las Piñãs City on February 22.

The Bureau of Fire Protection reported the blaze starting at 8:25 a.m. Firefighters battled for nearly four hours to extinguish the flames that rapidly swept through the densely populated compound reducing about 30 homes into ashes.

They are still in need of assistance, and here are some ways you can help:

Donations – Provide essentials like clothing, food, and hygiene products.

Shelter – Offer temporary shelter for displaced families.

Volunteer- Assist in relief operations or support services.

This past November in the City of Muntinlupa, a fire broke out in Barangay Alabang which affected ten households. Local firefighters were able to put out the fire and subsequently an evacuation center was set up for affected families and other victims.

New Life Community Care Foundation International, Inc. (NLCOM), the compassion arm of New Life Philippines located inside Alabang Hills Village, sent a team to the said evacuation center to support the victims in more ways than one. NLCOM is dedicated to responding to the immediate needs of communities that got hit by disasters and the organization has a track record for all to see.

We extended a helping hand to the resilient families impacted by the fire that razed Barangay Alabang, Muntinlupa, and affected ten households.

NOTE: Shortly after the launch of Mardi Gras Bazaar, Madison Galeries renamed it into Mardi Gras Warehouse Sale which had its last sale on December 2 and 3, 2023. The previous announced schedule of Mardi Gras Bazaar set for November 18 to December 31, 2023, no longer matters.

It has finally happened and already a lot of people have joined in for their shopping needs or purposes. I’m talking about the latest Mardi Gras Bazaar which officially started this morning at the 3rd floor of Madison Galeries along Don Jesus Boulevard, Alabang Hills, Barangay Cupang, Muntinlupa City, and I personally visited and bought some nice things with the Christmas season in mind.

Mardi Gras Bazaar this year is happening at the 3rd floor of Madison Galeries. If you go further in, there is a lot of space inside with all the products for sale.

Also taking place right now is the Christmas Sale of Oriental Merchants at the 4th floor of the same mall.

For the newcomers reading this, the Mardi Gras Bazaar this year will last until December 31, 2023 with a schedule of 10AM to 8:30 PM. In my personal experience, this is my 2nd time to attend the bazaar at Madison Galeries and it also marked the first time in four years since I last attended it (read my 2019 Mardi Gras Bazaar experience by clicking here).

The return of Mardi Gras Bazaar is indeed special. So many products with attractive prices around.
In the background are the counters where shoppers lineup with their selected products. Payments by cash, GCash (e-wallet) and credit cards are accepted.

Calling all the shoppers and gift item searchers among you. The Alabang Hills Village Association (AHVA) will once again be having the Nutcracker Christmas Bazaar from December 1 to 3, 2023 at their park in the Phase 2 area. The said bazaar will take place from 9AM to 9PM each day.

This year’s Nutcracker Christmas Bazaar already publicized within Alabang Hills Village.

Once again drawing on the theme of Tchaikovsky’s world-famous Christmas ballet, “The Nutcracker”, this year’s bazaar promises to be even bigger and better!

When: December 1 to 3 (Friday to Sunday), 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM

Where: AHV Phase 2 Park

Come to the Nutcracker Christmas Bazaar and enjoy —

•Christmas Tree & Bazaar Lighting Ceremony on December 2 at 6:00 PM

The Alabang Hills Village Association (AHVA) recently announced to its members the launch of a new procedure related to messaging with their security team over non-emergency matters formally called Non-Emergency Messaging to Security (NEMTOS). NEMTOS is a joint project of the AHVA Admin & Communications, and the Security & Safety committees.

We are happy to announce the launch of NEMTOS, short for Non-Emergency Messaging to Security, AHVA’s new procedure for the relay of your non-emergency messages to Security. Messages are to be relayed through Viber.

The objective of NEMTOS is to streamline non-emergency messaging between ourselves and AHV Security by simplifying and hastening communications while decongesting our two Security landlines so that these may be freed up mainly for emergency calls. It is our hope that, over time, this alternative approach will become our primary way of communicating non-emergency messages to Security.

Examples of non-emergency messages would be when we want to advise Security of:

-food and non-food deliveries to our homes (Grab, Lalamove, restaurants, etc.)

-the entry of guests/visitors into the village

-the entry of appliance repairmen, technicians, workers, manicurists, massage therapists, etc.

-noise disturbances

-road hazards/debris

-lost pets/items

-tricycle requests

With NEMTOS, there will be no need to dial, and repeatedly redial the Security landlines when these are busy. Your non-emergency messages, sent through Viber, will reach Security immediately. Within a couple of minutes, Security will acknowledge receipt of your message. To begin using NEMTOS, you will first need to register your cell phone number(s) with AHVA Admin. Below please find the Registration Form. The form can also be downloaded and printed from the AHVA website, or picked up at the AHVA Admin Office during regular office hours. Kindly fill out the form and read and abide by the program’s Rules and Guidelines. Don’t forget to sign the form. Drop your completed and signed form at the Admin Office. The Program Rules and Guidelines will tell you exactly how and when to use NEMTOS.

After you have registered AND been enrolled by Admin into the system, you will receive an acknowledgement via SMS. That will be your signal that you can start using the system. Please allow three (3) working days from your Registration Form submission date to receive the acknowledgement message.

NOTE: Shortly after the launch of Mardi Gras Bazaar, Madison Galeries renamed it into Mardi Gras Warehouse Sale which had its last sale on December 2 and 3, 2023. The previous announced schedule of Mardi Gras Bazaar set for November 18 to December 31, 2023, no longer matters.

Madison Galeries, the nice open-air shopping mall located along Don Jesus Boulevard in Barangay Cupang, Muntinlupa City, recently announced the return of their popular Mardi Gras Bazaar which is all set to take place from November 18 up to December 31, 2023 at the 3rd floor.

For the newcomers reading this, the Mardi Gras Bazaar is a well-known special event of Madison Galeries’ with an emphasis on shopping as well as a wide variety of products that buyers can choose from for gift-giving or for the use of their respective households. It should be noted that several products will be offered at discounted rates which should easily attract bargain hunters as well.

In 2019, I published two posts about the Mardi Gras Bazaar which you can read by clicking here and here. My post-event article has some pictures which should you give an idea of what to expect at the next edition of the Mardi Gras Bazaar.

For the 2023 edition of the Mardi Gras Bazaar at Madison Galeries, the announced schedule of November 18-December 31 is pretty extensive and it should give people a lot of time and opportunities to shop. The schedule of the bazaar for each day is 10AM to 8:30 PM.

What to expect at this year’s bazaar? Based on the official image from Madison Galeries, there will be clothing, toys, appliances, electronics, hardware and other items that can be ideal for gift-giving this Christmas season. As with the past editions of the Mardi Gras Bazaar, a discount of up to 80% will be applied on certain items for sale.

Still on Madison Galeries, it should be noted that The Madison Events Place Facebook page shared the 2023 Mardi Gras Bazaar post which suggests that the 3rd floor venue (The Madison Events Place itself) will be the place to go to. Going back to 2019, I personally attended the Mardi Gras Bazaar and the Village Food Fair 2 (click here) on separate occasions and both special events utilized The Madison Events Place as the main venue. The said venue is a really nice and spacious indoor facility that is also comfortable, secure and fully air-conditioned.

Personally, I am eager to attend this upcoming event. For those of you who have yet to visit Madison Galeries in Alabang, the mall has sufficient parking spaces (note: there are elevated indoor parking levels inside).

Watch out for Mardi Gras Bazaar at Madison Galeries on November 18 to December 31, 2023. Visit the mall along Don Jesus Boulevard in Barangay Cupang, Muntinlupa City. Once again, the Alabang Hills Village Association (AHVA) will be organizing their Megarahe Sale (full title: Megarahe Sale, Kids Bazaar and Ukay-Okay!) from September 15 to September 17, 2023, 7AM to 7PM at the Phase 2 Park within the village. Local residents and non-residents (note: those who will ride vehicles with valid stickers of Alabang Hills Village can enter) are welcome to visit the Megarahe Sale and see what goods will be offered.

During my visit to the AHVA office along Don Jesus Boulevard, I inquired to find out what exactly can visitors look forward to. According to one of the office personnel, there will be a variety of goods for sale such as clothes, shoes, bags, wallets and other household items. The vendors selling these kinds of goods will be located at the covered basketball court of the Phase 2 park.

The AHVA also revealed that there will be sellers of food and beverages at the covered badminton court which is just steps away from the covered basketball court. Both covered courts are located in close proximity to the AHVA office at the mentioned park.

This covered basketball court will be the venue for sellers of household items, clothes, shoes and other items.
The covered badminton court is where the vendors of food and drinks will be during the Megarahe Sale.

Those who seek to strengthen their faith in the Lord and immerse themselves deeper with His Word are welcome to attend the New Life Conference 2023 which will be held simultaneously in two venues in Alabang, Muntinlupa City from August 22 to 25 (Tuesday to Friday). The main theme of the conference will focus on mobilizing the church to take its place, be a beacon of hope and shine its light during the dark and confusing times. The New Life Conference 2023 will officially kick-off with an opening rally at the Filinvest Tent at 10AM of August 22. At 2PM of the afternoon of that same day, the Disrupt Streams will take place inside Filinvest Tent while the Pastors & Leaders Streams will be inside New Life Main. At 6PM, the Disrupt Night Rally will start inside Filinvest Tent while the NL CON Night Rally will happen inside New Life Main. For each day from August 22 to 25, there will be lunch breaks and dinner breaks that last 2 hours each so that conference participants can rest and feed themselves. For those who will be attending activities at Filinvest Tent, be aware that there are lots of stores, food/beverage vendors and restaurants that are within walking distance. Commercenter Mall is a short walk away from the Filinvest Tent and inside are restaurants such as Akrotiri, Sigekiya Ramen and The Black Pig to name a few. Even closer to the Filinvest Tent are branches of McDonald’s and Jollibee, as well as the area of South Supermarket which has some restaurants on the ground floor. For those who will be inside New Life Main, there is a cafeteria within.

Whether you are a pastor/leader/member of New Life Philippines or of a different church or ministry, be encouraged to deepen your faith in the Lord and immerse yourselves deeper with the Word of God by attending the New Life Conference 2023 this coming August.
