Three men arrested for armed robbery inside a village in Parañaque City

Recently in the city of Parañaque, three who were involved in an armed robbery that took place inside a village were apprehended by the local police, according to a news report by the Daily Tribune.

Three suspected robbers involved in an armed robbery at a residence in Multinational Village, Parañaque City, have been arrested by the Parañaque City police.

According to a report received by Police Brigadier General Bernard R Yang, District Director, a group of six armed male suspects entered the parking lot of a house located at the intersection of Matthew Street and Multinational Avenue. The victims, two Chinese nationals and four Filipinos residing in the house, were held at gunpoint. The suspects bound the victims with duct tape and tied up the in-house security guard, S/G Julius, before moving to the master’s bedroom.

The primary victim, identified as Lin, Chinese national, was threatened and forced to open a vault, from which the suspects stole approximately ₱700,000.00 in cash, ₱280,000.00 from another victim, Yu, and assorted jewelry valued at around ₱400,000. The suspects fled the scene in a sedan, exiting through Multinational Gate 1.

Through coordinated follow-up operations, Parañaque City Police Station’s intelligence and operational teams traced the suspects’ vehicle movements. Witness testimony led to the identification of one suspect, alias “Brian.”

As a result of diligent investigative efforts, law enforcement apprehended three individuals, alias “Brian” (38), John (33), and Jevic (29), all drivers by occupation. Three additional suspects, identified as alias Ruel (40), Ramel (40) and alias Agustin (37), remain at large, with ongoing efforts to locate them.

A 24-year-old man was arrested during a search warrant operation targeting illegal firearm possession in Parañaque City on Wednesday, October 30.

The individual, known by the alias “Enrico,” was taken into custody at approximately 4:06 a.m. by a joint team comprising officers from the Tambo Police Substation, the Station Investigation and Detective Management Section, and the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) unit.

The operation was conducted under a search warrant authorized by Judge Jaime M. Guray, the Executive Judge of the Regional Trial Court Branch 260 within the National Capital Judicial Region.

According to police reports, the items seized from Enrico included a .380 caliber pistol, seven rounds of ammunition, a magazine for the .380 caliber pistol, and an improvised 12-gauge shotgun (sumpak) along with two rounds of ammunition.

Several Chinese nationals arrested in Parañaque City for scamming, forgery, fraud and other violations

Recently in the city of Parañaque, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) arrested several Chinese nationals who were caught doing scamming operations at the Casiana Residences and one of the suspects even tried bribing the law enforcers to release them, according to a Manila Bulletin news report.

Eighteen Chinese nationals have been arrested by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) for operating a suspected online scam hub at the Casiana Residences in Paranaque City.

One of those arrested, who was suspected to be the group’s leader, attempted to bribe the NBI operatives of P5.1 million for their release, NBI Director Jaime B. Santiago said.

Director Santiago on Wednesday, Oct. 30, presented to the media the suspects, including their arrested leader Hou Jusen.

He said the two Filipino companions of Hou will be used as state witnesses. They were not identified.

The 17 other Chinese nationals were identified as Zhao Jianjin, Huang Cheng Chi, Huang Bi Ying, Li Hui Juan, Lengxin Yu, Liu Xing Rong, Chen Zihao, Zhou You Liang, Chen Xing, Chen Qing Gang, Huang Zhixon, Riu Chen, Mao Jing Hang, Liu Xuan Wu, Wang Wen Bin, Yan Xiao Hong, and Yang Yun.

“Last night (Oct. 29) nagswoop down ang aming mga ahente at nakahuli nga ng labingpito na Chinese while actually engaged in scamming activities (Last night our agents swooped down at the illegal operation and arrested 17 Chinese while actually engaged in scamming activities),” Santiago said.

He said the operation was conducted by the NBI Cybercrime Division (CCD) and Special Task Force (STF) operatives who served a Warrant to Search, Seize and Examine Computer Data (WSSECD) issued by the Paranaque City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 258.

“Na-seize namin ‘yung mga involved na gadgets, electronic devices (We seized their gadgets and electronic devices),” said NBI-CCD Chief Jeremy C. Lotoc.

Lotoc observed that the scam hub is massive “‘yung kanilang crypto transactions (they have massive crypto transactions).”

He said the operatives discovered social engineering scheme scripts, money muling activities, crypto investment activity, and romance scams.

The 18 arrested Chinese nationals were presented for inquest after their arrest. Hou was charged with corruption of public officials, falsification of public documents, and violating the Anti-Alias Law, Lotoc said.

After 10 years of hiding, wanted man got arrested in Parañaque City for lasciviousness

A man wanted for acts of lasciviousness was finally arrested by members of the Parañaque City Police Warrant and Subpoena Section after 10 years of hiding on Monday, October 28.

Southern Police District (SPD) director PBGen. Bernard Yang identified the suspect as “Noel,” 52. He was arrested in Barangay San Dionisio, Parañaque City.

Yang said the suspect was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Marie Grace Javier Ibayan of the Parañaque City Regional Trial Court, Branch 194 on September 9, 2014, for violation of acts of lasciviousness under Article 336 of the Revised Penal Code.

Two individuals suspected of drug-related offenses were apprehended during a buy-bust operation executed by the Parañaque Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit, resulting in the seizure of shabu valued at P306,000 on Sunday, October 27.

According to the Southern Police District (SPD), the suspects, known by the aliases “Marty,” aged 54, and “Emely,” aged 30, were taken into custody at approximately 4:00 p.m. in Barangay San Antonio, Parañaque City.

The SPD reported that the operation culminated in the confiscation of 45 grams of shabu, amounting to P306,000, along with a P500 bill utilized as buy-bust money, a coin purse, and a mobile phone.

Following their arrest, the suspects were held at the police custodial facility and are facing charges for violations of Sections 5 and 11 of RA 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.

Chinese nationals arrested in Parañaque City for various violations

Three Chinese nationals were arrested by members of the Parañaque City Police Tambo Substation for illegal possession of drugs, firearms and for violations of the land transportation and traffic code on Thursday, October 24.

Southern Police District (SPD) Director Brig. Gen. Bernard Yang said the suspects, identified as alias “Zhenhua,” 30, alias “Zhi,” 29, and alias “Miu,” 26, were arrested at around 7:58 a.m.

They were spotted by patrolling policemen acting suspiciously and changing the plate number of two vehicles.

The police said that when requested to present documents for the two vehicles, the suspects failed to show any and attempted to flee leading to a brief chase and to their eventual arrest.

The police recovered from Zhenhua 25 grams of shabu worth P197,000 and one Bersa caliber .380 pistol. The same amount of shabu was also recovered from alias Zhi. Alias Miu yielded P120,000 worth of marijuana and a .9mm pistol.

The police also recovered from the suspects six different license plates and tools including handcuffs and shovels.

Man arrested in Parañaque City for stealing motorcycle and carrying a replica gun

A drug suspect was arrested by patrolling members of the Parañaque city police Substation 2 on Sunday, October 20.

According to the Southern Police District (SPD), the suspect identified as alias “Oliver,” 33 ws arrested at around 1:10 a.m. along Roxas Boulevard, Southbound, Barangay Tambo, Parañaque City.

Investigation showed the victim, a female call center agent was seen by patrolling policemen who was frantically signaling for assistance.

The victim told police that she was threatened by the suspect with firearm and forcibly took her motorcycle.

The police said operatives from Substation 2 immediately responded and with the (victim’s) assistance was able to block and apprehended the fleeing suspect.

Recovered from the suspect were 20 grams of shabu worth P136,000, a replica .45 caliber pistol and the stolen motorcycle.

Las Piñas City Councilor Santos asks DENR to authorize P103.8 billion Las Piñas-Parañaque reclamation plan

In recent times, Las Piñas City Councilor and congressional candidate Mark Santos formally asked the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) to authorize the Las Piñas-Parañaque Coastal Bay Reclamation Project of the national government which is worth over P100 billion, according to a Manila Standard news report.

Las Piñas City Councilor and congressional candidate Mark Anthony Santos asked the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) to authorize the P103.8-billion Las Piñas-Paranaque Coastal Bay Reclamation Project of the national government.

Santos said the clearance to proceed with the project remained unresolved by the members of DENR’s Protective Area Management Board, despite the SC decision three years ago.

“The status of the project remains at the detailed engineering stage,” he said.

Santos said that in an en banc decision on Oct. 21, 2021, the Supreme Court, voting 11-2, approved the reclamation project of around 530 hectares of the Manila Bay coastline in Las Piñas- Parañaque, ruling that the supposed threat to environment was not sufficiently established.

Alltech Contractors proposed the project to develop 321.26 hectares of land in Las Piñas and 174.88 hectares in Parañaque, both along the coastline of Manila Bay in 2009. The Philippine Reclamation Authority approved the project in 2010 subject to compliance to environmental rules.

Alltech submitted an amended environmental performance report management plan (EPRMP) in December that year and expanded the project to cover 203.43 hectares in Parañaque and 431.71 hectares in Las Piñas.

The DENR-Environmental Management Bureau issued the environmental compliance certificate (ECC) for the project In March 2011, after Alltech Contractors submitted scientific and expert studies that assessed the potential flooding and flushing impact that may arise from the coastal bay project.

The SC decision suggests that the city government of Las Piñas may proceed with the reclamation project despite residents’ objections, said Santos.

Santos said the city councils of Las Piñas and Parañaque issued the corresponding resolutions authorizing their respective city mayors to explore the proposal under a joint venture agreement (JVA).

The cities of Las Piñas and Parañaque eventually accepted Alltech’s proposal, and the parties executed their respective JVAs, he said.

Three men arrested in Parañaque City for posing as NBI agents, grave threat and extortion

The three suspects were also responsible for a previous attempt to extort money from a Parañaque spa while pretending to be working for the NBI.

Three men who posed as agents of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and attempted to extort P100,000 cash from the owner of a food store were arrested by members of the Parañaque police Tambo Substation on Saturday, October 19.

The Southern Police District (SPD) identified the suspects as alias “Bernard,” 44, alias “John,” 29, both businessmen, and alias “Lenon,” 24.

The SPD said the suspects were arrested around 3:00 a.m. at a food store located in Aseana I Building, E. Cuenco, Barangay Tambo.

The police said the suspects reportedly entered the establishment and presented a fraudulent search warrant alleging that the store was selling illegal tobacco and cigarettes.

The suspects threatened the 19 year-old store cashier and demanded that the store owner pay P100,000 cash to avoid penalties for selling illegal tobacco products.

The police said Aseana security guards were alerted and intervened when they noticed the commotion inside the food store while the suspects were dismantling the store’s CCTV camera.

Members of the Tambo police substation who were near the area were called for police assistance and upon verification, the suspects were found to be fake NBI agents.

During investigation, the police said Atty. Joseph Eufemio S. Martinez, Deputy Chief of Staff, Office of the Deputy Director for Operations Supervising Agent, National Capital Region (NBI-NCR), National Bureau of Investigation, said that the arrested suspects are not member of the agency.

The police also found that the same suspects had previously attempted to extort money from a spa in Parañaque City on September 1, 2024 by posing as NBI agents and threatening the business owner.

Karate instructor arrested in Manila for robbing a house in Parañaque, illegal possession of firearms and other violations

According to the police investigation, the suspect suddenly entered the victim’s house at gunpoint and stole a gadget, an iPhone, and cash amounting to P5,000.

SPD Director Brig. Gen. Bernard Yang said police officers were able to track and arrest the suspect using a global positioning system (GPS) from the victim’s stolen mobile phone in Sta. Cruz, Manila.
