Three drug suspects apprehended in Parañaque, illegal drugs seized

Recently in the City of Parañaque, a successful buy-bust operation by the police resulted in the apprehension of three drug suspects in Barangay Tambo, according to a Manila Bulletin news report.

Three drug suspects who were tagged by the police as street-level individuals (SLI), were arrested during the conduct of a buy-bust operation by the Paranaque City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) on June 4.

The Southern Police District (SPD) identified the suspects as Jhelne, 28; Jeffrey, 42; and Jayson, 39. They were arrested at around 12:10 a.m. at the Puyat Compound, Barangay Tambo, Paranaque City.

The SPD said the SDEU conducted an anti-illegal drugs operation targeting a certain Jhelyn who was reported to be hooked on drugs.

The SDEU was able to confiscate from the suspects about 25 grams of shabu worth P170,000, the P500 marked money used in the buy-bust operation, and a black cellular phone.

Wanted carnapping suspect arrested in Parañaque City

Recently in the City of Parañaque, local police officers armed with a warrant of arrest successfully apprehended a man who has been wanted for carnapping, according to a Daily Tribune news report.

Parañaque City police operatives arrested a 47-year-old man identified as alias “Nori,” one of the city’s most wanted suspects, during an intensified anti-crime operation over the weekend.

“Nori” was ranked No. 9 on the Southern Police District’s list of most wanted persons for June 2025, and No. 3 at the station level.

The suspect, a motorcycle rider and resident of Parañaque City, was apprehended around 10:15 AM on 1 June along 1st Street, Ilaya Santo Niño, by virtue of a warrant of arrest for carnapping under Section 3 of Republic Act 10883.

The warrant was issued on 21 May 2025, by Branch 274 of the Regional Trial Court in Parañaque, with a recommended bail of P300,000.

The arrest was conducted by members of the Warrant and Subpoena Section of the Parañaque City Police Station, under the direct supervision of city police chief Col. Melvin R. Montante.

The suspect is now detained at the station’s custodial facility, pending the return of the warrant to the issuing court.

Four Chinese nationals arrested in Parañaque City by NBI agents

Recently in the City of Parañaque, four Chinese nationals got arrested as a result of a raid conducted by agents of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) inside the condominium unit they stayed in, according to a GMA Network news report. The NBI recovered several pieces of electronic equipment that the suspects threw out of the window desperately. The weird thing is the fact that the NBI agents originally went to the condominium to serve an arrest warrant at a different unit that happens to be near the unit of the apprehended Chinese nationals.

Four Chinese citizens were arrested and multiple electronic gadgets were seized when National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) agents raided an alleged scam hub inside a condominium unit in Parañaque City on Wednesday.

According to a ”24 Oras” report by John Consulta on Friday, NBI agents from the Criminal Intelligence Division were serving an arrest warrant in one unit of the condo when they noticed suspicious activity coming from a nearby unit.

Agents reportedly witnessed Chinese citizens throwing laptops and mobile phones out the window, prompting them to shift their attention to the adjacent room.

“Umikot yung ibang tropa doon sa may bintana, sa may gilid. Nakita namin may tinatapon ng mga laptop. Kaya nagtaka kami,” said NBI Assistant Director for Intelligence Service Noel Bocaling.

(Some of our team members went to the side near the window. We saw laptops being thrown out, which raised our suspicions.)

Upon entry into the unit, the agents discovered computers and electronic equipment allegedly used in online scamming operations. Scattered on the floor below the condo unit were laptops, cellphones, and tablets, which investigators believe was a deliberate attempt to destroy evidence.

“Positive kasi yung mga natirang hindi nila naibato, na masira, naabutan namin sa loob. They are indeed involved in scam operations,” Bocaling said.

(The devices they failed to destroy and that we recovered confirm they are indeed involved in scam operations.)

Asked if data could still be retrieved from the damaged devices, Bocaling responded, “Magta-try kami (We will try).”

“Pagka makukuha namin yung mga nandodoon, malalaman natin kung sino mga naloko nila at kung ano-ano mga bansa.”

(Once we retrieve the data, we can find out who their victims are and which countries were targeted.)

Courageous Parañaque City cop commended

Recently a local police officer was commended by the Philippine National Police (PNP) for courageously doing his duty in Parañaque City and getting injured doing so, according a news article by the Philippine News Agency (PNA).

The Philippine National Police (PNP) commended a Parañaque City cop who sustained injuries while fulfilling his duties.

Staff Sgt. Carlo Sotelo Navarro, 45, of the BF Homes Police Substation 5, showed the kind of courage expected of a cop when he attempted to pacify an aggressive suspect in Creek Drive 1, San Antonio Valley 8 on Friday morning, PNP chief Gen. Rommel Marbil said in a news release Saturday.

According to reports, Navarro, together with other police officers and members of the Barangay Peacekeeping Action Team (BPAT), responded to a public disturbance alert.

When Navarro confronted the suspect identified as “Arnold,” the latter suddenly drew a kitchen knife and struck the police officer in the head and chest.

Navarro’s colleagues and BPAT members were able to restrain the suspect, who is now under police custody. The injured police officer was taken to a hospital and is already in stable condition.

“The courage of PSSg Navarro is a powerful reminder of the kind of sacrifice our police officers make every day. He answered the call of duty without hesitation, knowing the risks. That is true service. We pray for his recovery and salute his heroism,” Marbil said in a statement.

Motorcycle rider in Parañaque City caught carrying illegal substances worth over P300,000

A motorcycle rider initially stopped by police for not wearing a helmet was later found transporting P307,000 worth of illegal drugs in Parañaque City on Friday, May 23.

The suspect, identified as alias “Hidehiro,” 21, a resident of Tondo Manila, was apprehended at around 4:50 a.m. in front of Imperial Plaza on Diosdado Macapagal Boulevard in Barangay Tambo, Parañaque City.

Officers from the Parañaque City Police Tambo Substation, conducting “Oplan Sita,” flagged down the suspect for failing to wear a helmet.

When police asked for Hidehiro’s driver’s license and motorcycle documents, he refused and attempted to flee by abandoning his motorcycle.

Upon inspection, police found in the suspect’s motorcycle compartment 40 grams of shabu packed in 15 aluminum sachets and 10 transparent sachets, with a total value of P272,000, along with ecstasy tablets worth P35,000.

DPWH employee arrested in Alabang for stabbing a man

Police arrested an employee of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) for allegedly stabbing a man outside a video bar in Barangay Alabang, Muntinlupa on May 24.

The Muntinlupa police identified the suspect as alias Negro, 41, who is accused of stabbing alias Geomar, 28, tricycle driver, using a foldable knife after they had a violent argument in front of the Rubie Touch Videoke Bar.

The witness, alias “Katrina,” immediately sought police assistance from the Alabang sub-station. The police arrested Negro. Geomar, who was injured, was brought to the Ospital ng Muntinlupa for treatment and is under medical observation.

The police turned over the suspect to the Investigation and Detective Management Section for documentation and filing of criminal charges.

Suspects arrested for stealing Alabang monument brass markers

This past weekend in the City of Muntinlupa, local police officers aided by barangay officials apprehended suspects who were responsible for the theft of brass markers of a city monument, according to a GMA Network news report.

The brass markers of a monument honoring World War II guerillas in Barangay Alabang, Muntinlupa City were found stolen.

The suspects were arrested through the efforts of the police and barangay officials, and will face charges, according to a report by Mao dela Cruz on Super Radyo dzBB on Sunday.

Muntinlupa City Mayor Ruffy Biazon said he went to the Philippine National Police (PNP) station at Alabang Junction where the suspects were brought for investigation.

The suspects revealed that they sold the brass markers to a certain junk shop. The junk shop owner will also face charges for violation of the Anti-Fencing Law. Biazon however said the brass markers may have already been melted.

Earlier, the local government unit offered a P100,000 reward to anyone who can give information that would lead to the arrest of the suspects in the theft of the brass markers.

The monument is located at the plaza of Barangay Alabang. Every February 4, the city recognizes the sacrifice and heroism of the guerillas during World War II.

Nine foreigners who were caught with undeclared P441 million cash and foreign currency up for deportation

The nine foreigners – who had two Filipino companions – who were recently caught in the Cebu airport carrying undeclared amounts of cash of over P440 million and some foreign currency will be deported after their local cases get resolved, according to a GMA Network news report.

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) said Tuesday it is seeking to deport the nine foreigners arrested at the Mactan-Cebu International Airport for carrying undeclared bags of cash amounting to over P440 million.

According to Immigration spokesperson Dana Sandoval, the deportation proceedings are ongoing.

The nine foreigners and two Filipinos were arrested by the Philippine National Police Aviation Security as they were attempting to board a private plane to Manila at about 10:30 p.m.

The suspects—including six Chinese and individuals from Malaysia, Indonesia, and Kazakhstan—were found carrying seven bags instead of the declared three bags containing up to P441,922,542, USD$168,730 (around P9.342 Million), and HKD$1,000 (around P71,000).

The BI said that aside from deportation proceedings, the group may also face criminal and anti-money laundering charges before local courts.

Over 3 million cyber-attacks counted by COMELEC

In relation to the recently concluded National and Local Elections, the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) confirmed that there were more than three million cyber-attacks on their official website and precinct finder apps, according to a news report by The Manila Times.

THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) website and precinct finder apps have been the subject of more than 3 million cyberattacks aimed at taking over the systems and to inject malicious information.

Comelec spokesman John Rex Laudiangco said on Wednesday that the attacks were recorded from May 11 to May 14, covering the eve of the elections to the canvassing of votes.

Laudiangco said the Comelec precinct finder registered 76.81 million visits, with about 46.17 million legitimate searches. At least 1.45 million, however, were identified as hacking attacks.

“We’re considering it as DDoS (distributed denial-of-service) attacks,” Laudiangco said.

A DDoS attack is a malicious attempt to disrupt the normal traffic of a targeted server, service or network by overwhelming the target or its surrounding infrastructure with a flood of internet traffic.

On the other hand, Laudiangco said, the Comelec website registered 113.41 million visits with mitigated confirmed attacks of 1.75 million.

Laudiangco said none of the said attempts were successful because of the security measures and constant monitoring being done by the Comelec Cybersecurity Division and the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).

Seller of fake government IDs arrested

Recently in the City of Valenzuela, local police officers arrested a woman who was engaged in the selling of fake government identification cards (including driver’s licenses), according to a Manila Bulletin news report. In its official online update, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) confirmed that the authorities seized from the suspect a mobile phone, a UMID identification card, cash bills, boodle money, and fake ID cards as evidence. The LTO stated that the suspect was also involved in the manufacturing of fake IDs.

The Valenzuela City Police, led by station chief Col. Nixon Cayaban, arrested a woman for selling fake government IDs on Wednesday, May 14.

The suspect, identified as “Tere”, 29, a resident of Barangay Gen. T. De Leon, was caught in an entrapment operation conducted by the Valenzuela City Police Station (VCPS) and the Northern Police District Anti-Cybercrime Team. Authorities said the suspect was selling fake driver’s licenses and PWD IDs in the city.

Col. Cayaban urged the public to remain cautious, especially when dealing with suspicious online offers, and to report illegal activities to the proper authorities.

Mayor Wes Gatchalian issued a warning to scammers.

“Bawal ang manloloko sa Valenzuela (Scammers are not welcome in Valenzuela).”

“Nawa’y magsilbing babala ito sa lahat ng nagbabalak na manloko sa kapwa ko Valenzuelano. Bawal ang manloloko sa Valenzuela City at sinuman ang magtatangkang gumawa ng krimen kagaya ng pagbebenta ng pekeng government ID ay titiyakin nating mananagot sa batas (May this serve as a warning to anyone planning to deceive my fellow Valenzuelanos. Scammers have no place in Valenzuela City, and anyone who attempts to commit crimes such as selling fake government IDs will be held accountable under the law),” Gatchalian added.
