Officials and employees of the Muntinlupa City government will get a performance-based bonus (PBB) as an extra Christmas treat.

Majority Floor Leader Raul Corro announced on Dec. 11 that the Muntinlupa City Council passed a resolution on first reading granting the bonus for the fiscal year 2022.

The decision was made after the city government passed the four criteria that allowed it to grant the bonus: performance results, process results, financial results and citizen/client satisfaction result.

The grant of the PBB on Muntinlupa City government personnel was approved by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), which certified that “the City of Muntinlupa is included in the official list of local governments eligible to grant the FY 2022 Performance-Based Bonus to qualified local government officials and employees.”

Muntinlupa’s Local Finance Committee also approved a resolution recommending the release of the PBB to qualified personnel.

Recently in the City of Las Piñas, the City Government officially lighted the Christmas tree at City Hall which was attended by several people, according to a Philippine News Agency (PNA) article. The event marked the launch of their special program titled “Love Las Piñas Christmas.”

The festive spirit of the holiday season shone brightly in Las Piñas City as the local government, led by Mayor Imelda Aguilar and Vice Mayor April Aguilar, held its much-anticipated tree lighting ceremony, and the launch of “Love Las Piñas Christmas.”

The event, held on Thursday night at the City Hall Quadrangle, marked a significant moment for the city, symbolizing not only the joy of the season but also the unity and resilience of the Las Piñas community.

Muntinlupa City Government opens Christmas bazaar at renovated Alabang Central Market (ACM)

Recently in the City of Muntinlupa, the City Government formally opened a Christmas bazaar at the renovated Alabang Central Market (ACM) and the bazaar will last until January 1, 2024, according to a Manila Bulletin news report. The bazaar’s operating schedule is 4PM to 10PM.

The Muntinlupa City government opened a Christmas bazaar at the renovated Alabang Central Market (ACM), giving shoppers more options this holiday season.

Mayor Ruffy Biazon presided over the reopening of the newly renovated Building B of the ACM and invited shoppers to enjoy the bazaar at the refurbished market.

The new building features 357 stalls for general merchandise, salon services, and dry goods. Building A, which was reopened earlier, is the wet section of the market.

The renovated ACM now has more updated service facilities such as individual power supply, air handling system,️ fire protection system, fire detection and alarm system, and rainwater collection system.

Giant Christmas tree at Muntinlupa City Hall lighted

Recently in the progressive City of Muntinlupa, the lights of the huge Christmas tree located at the quadrangle of City Hall were formally switched on by sevel local officials including the Mayor, the Congressional Representative, the Vice Mayor, members of the City Council and others, according to a Manila Bulletin news report. The lighting ceremony reminded locals that the Christmas season has indeed arrived in the city.

It’s officially Christmas season in Muntinlupa.

The Muntinlupa City government ushered in the Yuletide season by holding the giant Christmas tree lighting ceremony on Nov. 17 at the Muntinlupa City hall quadrangle.

Muntinlupa Mayor Ruffy Biazon, Rep. Jaime Fresnedi, Vice Mayor Artemio Simundac, councilors and city officials led the Christmas tree lighting ceremony. Biazon was joined by his wife, Trina, and their children at the ceremony.

According to the Muntinlupa Public Information Office (PIO), the giant Christmas tree is 34-foot tall plus the three-foot lantern topper for a total height of 37 feet.

The Christmas tree is adorned with 500 strings of pixel lights, 500 fairy lights, 200 globe bulbs, 50 strobe lights and 40 dozens of ornaments.

Muntinlupa City’s Christmas gift-giving (Pamaskong Handog) for 150,000 families ongoing

Recently in the City of Muntinlupa, the City Government launched the distribution of consumable goods for an estimated one hundred and fifty thousand families with the Christmas season in mind, according to a Manila Bulletin news report.

Christmas came early for Muntinlupa residents as the city government has started distributing Pamaskong Handog packages containing grocery items.

“This year, we have prepared—based on the city’s population and average number of family members—150,000 Pamaskong Handog packages para sa estimated 150,000 families of Muntinlupa,” said Mayor Ruffy Biazon at the kickoff distribution on Nov. 15.

Each Pamaskong Handog package contains a spaghetti package (pasta and sauce), milk, champorado and chocolate drink.

City government personnel will visit communities from purok to subdivisions to distribute the Christmas packages.

Biazon said the distribution of the Pamaskong Handog packages will be scheduled by barangay and those with questions can visit the help desk at each distribution venue.

“Sa pag-celebrate natin ng Pasko, magpasalamat tayo sa mga biyayang natatanggap natin at sa buhay na taglay natin (In celebration of Christmas, we should be thankful for the blessings that we receive and the life that we have),” said Biazon.

He thanked city officials and employees who went around the city for a month to list the names of the Pamaskong Handog beneficiaries.

Visit Mardi Gras Bazaar (2023) at Madison Galeries now!

NOTE: Shortly after the launch of Mardi Gras Bazaar, Madison Galeries renamed it into Mardi Gras Warehouse Sale which had its last sale on December 2 and 3, 2023. The previous announced schedule of Mardi Gras Bazaar set for November 18 to December 31, 2023, no longer matters.

It has finally happened and already a lot of people have joined in for their shopping needs or purposes. I’m talking about the latest Mardi Gras Bazaar which officially started this morning at the 3^rd floor of Madison Galeries along Don Jesus Boulevard, Alabang Hills, Barangay Cupang, Muntinlupa City, and I personally visited and bought some nice things with the Christmas season in mind.

*Mardi Gras Bazaar this year is happening at the 3rd floor of Madison Galeries. If you go further in, there is a lot of space inside with all the products for sale.*

Also taking place right now is the Christmas Sale of Oriental Merchants at the 4^th floor of the same mall.

For the newcomers reading this, the Mardi Gras Bazaar this year will last until December 31, 2023 with a schedule of 10AM to 8:30 PM. In my personal experience, this is my 2^nd time to attend the bazaar at Madison Galeries and it also marked the first time in four years since I last attended it (read my 2019 Mardi Gras Bazaar experience by clicking here).

Madison Galeries’ Mardi Gras Bazaar set for November 18 to December 31, 2023

Madison Galeries, the nice open-air shopping mall located along Don Jesus Boulevard in Barangay Cupang, Muntinlupa City, recently announced the return of their popular Mardi Gras Bazaar which is all set to take place from November 18 up to December 31, 2023 at the 3^rd floor.

For the newcomers reading this, the Mardi Gras Bazaar is a well-known special event of Madison Galeries’ with an emphasis on shopping as well as a wide variety of products that buyers can choose from for gift-giving or for the use of their respective households. It should be noted that several products will be offered at discounted rates which should easily attract bargain hunters as well.

In 2019, I published two posts about the Mardi Gras Bazaar which you can read by clicking here and here. My post-event article has some pictures which should you give an idea of what to expect at the next edition of the Mardi Gras Bazaar.

For the 2023 edition of the Mardi Gras Bazaar at Madison Galeries, the announced schedule of November 18-December 31 is pretty extensive and it should give people a lot of time and opportunities to shop. The schedule of the bazaar for each day is 10AM to 8:30 PM.

What to expect at this year’s bazaar? Based on the official image from Madison Galeries, there will be clothing, toys, appliances, electronics, hardware and other items that can be ideal for gift-giving this Christmas season. As with the past editions of the Mardi Gras Bazaar, a discount of up to 80% will be applied on certain items for sale.

Still on Madison Galeries, it should be noted that The Madison Events Place Facebook page shared the 2023 Mardi Gras Bazaar post which suggests that the 3^rd floor venue (The Madison Events Place itself) will be the place to go to. Going back to 2019, I personally attended the Mardi Gras Bazaar and the Village Food Fair 2 (click here) on separate occasions and both special events utilized The Madison Events Place as the main venue. The said venue is a really nice and spacious indoor facility that is also comfortable, secure and fully air-conditioned.

Personally, I am eager to attend this upcoming event. For those of you who have yet to visit Madison Galeries in Alabang, the mall has sufficient parking spaces (note: there are elevated indoor parking levels inside).

Watch out for Mardi Gras Bazaar at Madison Galeries on November 18 to December 31, 2023. Visit the mall along Don Jesus Boulevard in Barangay Cupang, Muntinlupa City. Again, for the newcomers reading this, Filinvest Tent not only hosted last year’s edition of the Noel Bazaar, it was also the same venue used for New Life Conference 2023.

For those who will be attending Noel Bazaar 2023 at Filinvest Tent, be aware that there are lots of stores, food/beverage vendors and restaurants that are within walking distance. Commercenter Mall is a short walk away from the Filinvest Tent and inside are restaurants such as Akrotiri, Sigekiya Ramen and The Black Pig to name a few. Even closer to the Filinvest Tent are branches of McDonald’s and Jollibee, as well as the area of South Supermarket which has some restaurants, local business joints and a paid parking area on the ground floor. While Filinvest Tent itself has a paid parking area, its parking slots are limited. You could park your cars at the paid parking areas of the nearby joints.

Megarahe Sale inside Alabang Hills Village on September 15-17, 2023

Once again, the Alabang Hills Village Association (AHVA) will be organizing their Megarahe Sale (full title: Megarahe Sale, Kids Bazaar and Ukay-Okay!) from September 15 to September 17, 2023, 7AM to 7PM at the Phase 2 Park within the village. Local residents and non-residents (note: those who will ride vehicles with valid stickers of Alabang Hills Village can enter) are welcome to visit the Megarahe Sale and see what goods will be offered.

During my visit to the AHVA office along Don Jesus Boulevard, I inquired to find out what exactly can visitors look forward to. According to one of the office personnel, there will be a variety of goods for sale such as clothes, shoes, bags, wallets and other household items. The vendors selling these kinds of goods will be located at the covered basketball court of the Phase 2 park.

The AHVA also revealed that there will be sellers of food and beverages at the covered badminton court which is just steps away from the covered basketball court. Both covered courts are located in close proximity to the AHVA office at the mentioned park.

*This covered basketball court will be the venue for sellers of household items, clothes, shoes and other items.*

*The covered badminton court is where the vendors of food and drinks will be during the Megarahe Sale.*
