Man Arrested In Parañaque City For Pointing Gun At Someone

Authorities from the Parañaque City Police arrested a man allegedly under the influence of liquor after he pointed a gun at an online seller for no apparent reason on Christmas Day.

The Southern Police District (SPD) identified the suspect as Christian, 25, a resident of Barangay BF Homes, Parañaque City. He was apprehended at around 12:14 a.m. on Dr. A. Santos Avenue, in front of Hontiveros Compound, Barangay San Antonio, Parañaque City.

Police said the 22-year-old victim, an online seller, was walking in the area when the suspect suddenly approached her and, without provocation, pulled out a handgun and pointed it at her.

The victim cried for help, drawing the attention of nearby bystanders. The suspect attempted to flee but was immediately restrained and arrested.

Recovered from the suspect was a .22-caliber revolver loaded with five live rounds of ammunition, found inside a dark brown sling bag.

Police Seize Counterfeit Merchandise Worth Over P5 Million In Parañaque City

Recently in the city of Parañaque, local police officers successfully pulled of a buy-bust operation resulting in the apprehension of seven suspects and the seizure of fake merchandise worth more than P5 million, according to a news report by the Daily Tribune.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Saturday reported the seizure of P5.2 million worth of counterfeit merchandise and the arrest of seven individuals during a buy-bust operation in Parañaque City.

Operatives from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group–Specialized Mission and Monitoring Division Field Unit (CIDG-SMMDFU), in coordination with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), carried out the operation around 12:15 p.m. on December 18 at the third floor of a commercial establishment in Barangay San Dionisio.

Authorities confiscated 386 bales of counterfeit SHEIN products allegedly intended for local distribution. Buy-bust money and other pieces of evidence were also recovered from the premises.

The seven adult Filipino suspects were charged with violations of Republic Act No. 3883, which prohibits counterfeit and pirated goods; Republic Act No. 8293, the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines; and Republic Act No. 10175, the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012. They are currently in custody of the CIDG-SMMDFU and will face inquest proceedings.

PNP Acting Chief Police Lieutenant General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said the operation reflects the agency’s ongoing effort to curb illegal trade and intellectual property violations.

Muntinlupa City Government Reminds Public About Dangers Of Firecrackers

Recently in the progressive City of Muntinlupa, the City Government reminded the public about the danger and risks that come with the use of firecrackers, according to a news report by the Manila Bulletin.

For the newcomers reading this, the use of firecrackers in celebration of the Christmas season and the welcoming of the New Year is common in the Philippines. Through the decades, a lot of people – including children – got injured when incidents involving firecrackers happened.

The Muntinlupa City government reminded the public of the dangers of using firecrackers to celebrate the holiday season.

“Bilang paalala sa mga Muntinlupeño, hinihikayat ng Pamahalaang Lungsod sa pangunguna ni Mayor Ruffy Biazon, at ni PNP (Pulis Ng Muntinlupa) Chief of Police Col. Robert Domingo, ang lahat na maging responsable at maingat—makisaya nang ligtas, sumunod sa batas, at piliin ang alternatibong selebrasyon na hindi delikado (As a reminder to Muntinlupa residents, the City Government, led by Mayor Ruffy Biazon, and PNP (Pulis Ng Muntinlupa) Chief of Police Col. Robert Domingo, encourages everyone to be responsible and careful—have fun safely, obey the law, and choose alternative celebrations that are not dangerous),” the Muntinlupa City government posted on Facebook.

Muntinlupa has an ordinance which totally bans the possession, use, manufacture, sale, display and distribution of any firecracker and pyrotechnic device within its jurisdiction.

City Ordinance 14-092, approved in 2014, prohibits “the manufacture, display, sale, distribution, possession or use of firecrackers or pyrotechnic devices and such other similar devices and the exploding of firecrackers or other similar explosives within the territorial jurisdiction of Muntinlupa City.”

“lt shall, likewise be unlawful for any person to discharge or explode, or cause to discharge or to explode, any firecrackers, or any other explosive or to use any pyrotechnic device or any such other similar device, at anytime and anywhere within the territory of Muntinlupa City,” according to the ordinance.

Violators will be fined P1,000 “or imprisonment of not more than one (1) month but not less than (2) days or both fine and imprisonment, at the discretion of the Court.”

For the second offense, violators face ”a fine of Three Thousand Pesos (Php3,000.00) or imprisonment of not more than Six (6) months but not less Three (3) months, or both fine and imprisonment, at the discretion of the Court.”

For the third offense, violators face “a fine of Five Thousand Pesos (P5,000.00) or imprisonment of not more than Six (6) months but not less than three (3) months, or both fine and imprisonment, at the discretion of Court.”

“lf the violation is committed by a business establishment, the President or General Manager or the Person acting in behalf of either the President or General Manager shall be held liable in the case of a corporation or partnership, or the owner or proprietor or the person acting in his behalf shall be held responsible in the case of a single proprietorship,” the ordinance added.

The Civil Security Group of the Philippine National Police, meanwhile, issued a list of prohibited firecrackers and pyrotechnic devices.

A 21-year-old man was arrested by operatives of the Parañaque City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) after yielding P134,000 worth of marijuana kush during a buy-bust operation on Dec. 18.

The Southern Police District (SPD) identified the suspect as Given, who was apprehended along Sta. Lucia Street, Barangay Moonwalk, Parañaque City, for his alleged involvement in the illegal sale of marijuana kush.

Police said the operation was conducted following intensified surveillance and intelligence validation in response to reports of ongoing drug transactions in the area.

During the operation, the suspect was caught selling marijuana to a police poseur-buyer. Authorities confiscated 96 grams of marijuana kush worth P134,000.

Also recovered from the suspect were a red pouch used to conceal the illegal drugs, a sachet containing dried marijuana leaves, and the buy-bust money.

A 26-year-old Chinese national was rescued in a condominium in Parañaque City after allegedly being kidnapped, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) reported Sunday.

In a statement, the NCRPO said authorities conducted a rescue operation after they received a report through the PNP Hotline Facebook page.

The victim was found in a condominium unit in Barangay Don Galo on Saturday with four male and one female foreign suspects.

Initial investigation showed that the victim had allegedly been detained since December 9, with suspects demanding P1 million for his release.

The victim said P500,000 had already been handed over. The suspects were placed under police custody for proper investigation.

Three men were nabbed and more than P2.1 million worth of suspected shabu were seized in a buy-bust operation in Parañaque City late Wednesday night, the Southern Police District (SPD) reported.

Authorities said the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) of the Parañaque City Police conducted the operation at Unit 2908, 3rd Floor, Aguarra Street, Barangay Baclaran.

Arrested were 31-year-old alias “Olrac,” identified as a high-value target; 27-year-old alias “Rowelle”; and 43-year-old alias “Francis.” They were caught after allegedly selling illegal drugs to an undercover officer.

Recovered were 310 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P2,108,000, along with the marked money used during the operation.

I Love Israel: Philippine National Police Vows To Strengthen Cooperation With Israel

As Israeli Ambassador Dana Kursh recently met with Philippine National Police (PNP) acting chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez, Jr., the national police force vowed to strengthen its cooperation with the Jewish state as it seeks improvements over several important matters of law enforcement, according to a news article by the Philippine News Agency (PNA).

The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Wednesday vowed to strengthen its cooperation with the Israeli government to improve intelligence sharing, modernize police training programs, and adopt best practices in public safety and community policing.

This was after acting PNP chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. received Israeli Ambassador to the Philippines, Dana Kursh, during a courtesy call at the PNP headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City on Tuesday.

He said the meeting highlighted the enduring friendship between the Philippines and Israel as they explored ways to expand cooperation in key areas, such as security, capacity building, and information sharing.

“International cooperation provides us access to advanced technologies, training, and operational strategies in order for the Philippine National Police to strengthen its capabilities in crime prevention, emergency response, and overall community safety,” Nartatez said in a statement.

During the discussions, both sides identified practical initiatives for intelligence sharing, personnel exchanges, and joint training programs.

Through these collaborations, Nartatez said, the PNP aims to strengthen its capabilities in crime prevention, emergency response, and overall community safety.

For the newcomers reading this, this is not the first time that the PNP interacted and cooperated with Israel. In 2020, the PNP signed a security equipment deal with Israel. The recent meeting is about strengthening the ties between them with law enforcement in mind as the PNP wants to achieve safer communities and be able to respond faster in public safety matters in line with the directive of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr., to modernize the national police and promote international partnerships.

Knowing how sophisticated Israel really is on economics, cyber security, military technology and achieving peace, I believe that the PNP can benefit a lot from the Jewish state to achieve its goals with the long-term in mind.

One notable crisis that should be solved is cybercrime which is so rampant here in the Philippines and the number of Filipinos getting victimized keeps on rising. The PNP has its own teams focused on cybercrime and they have been busy searching for the criminals online to capture and prosecute them. Israel has the resources, the advanced technologies and the skills that will help the PNP a lot on its campaign against cybercrime. That said, having renewed Israel-PNP cooperation is crucial and I personally support it!

Praise and thank the Lord for this new development. Praise and thank Him for better ties between Israel and the Philippines.

To my fellow Filipinos reading this, I encourage you to accept the truth that Israel is the land God designated specifically for the Jewish people (read Genesis 35:10-12) and His command must be followed without hesitation. If you want to be blessed further by the Lord, do so by loving and blessing the Jewish people (Genesis 12:1-3). I did my part when I was in Israel. Also, let me remind you all that the ties between the Jews and Christians are truly biblical!

I encourage you all to pray to the Lord God in support of Israel, to love and bless the Jewish people, and pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

Three Foreigners Arrested In Parañaque City For Possessing Illegal Drugs

Southern Police District (SPD) Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) operatives arrested three foreign nationals identified as newly tagged high-value individuals (HVIs) for their involvement in the illegal drugs trade, and in possession of 100 grams of shabu and 20 pieces of ecstasy pills during an operation in Parañaque City.

The SPD identified the suspects as Hoon, 46, and Jaypo, 34, both Korean nationals, and Raptor, 31, an Indonesian. They were arrested at around 1:43 a.m. inside Room 3310 of SBM Condotel on J. Gabriel Street, Barangay Baclaran.

Police said members of the DEU, in coordination with Parañaque City Police Substation 1, conducted a buy-bust operation after the suspects were confirmed as newly listed HVIs due to their alleged involvement in illegal drug activities.

Seized from the suspects were 100 grams of shabu worth P680,000 and 20 pieces of ecstasy tablets valued at P34,000.

According to police, Hoon will be charged with illegal sale of dangerous drugs, while Jaypo and Raptor will face charges for illegal possession of drugs under Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The suspects are currently detained at the SPD-DEU custodial facility pending the filing of formal charges.

2025 Drug-Free Workplace Certification For Muntinlupa City

The Muntinlupa City Hall has again been declared as a drug-free workplace, making it the first local government unit (LGU) in Metro Manila to secure this status for 2025, Mayor Ruffy Biazon said.

The LGU earned the drug-free certification for the first time in the year 2023.

Biazon noted that the reaffirmed recognition is a reflection of the city’s strengthened efforts and policies under ordinance No. 2024-030, along with cooperation with authorities including the Philippine National Police, the Department of Interior and Local Government, the City Health Office, and the Drug-Free Institution Oversight Committee.

The nine other barangay halls in Muntinlupa have also been declared to be a drug-free workplace.

Wanted Man Arrested In Muntinlupa City For Carnapping

The Muntinlupa police arrested on Friday, Nov. 7, a 23-year-old man tagged as the No. 2 most wanted person for carnapping.

The suspect, identified as alias Entong, a mechanic and resident of Barangay Bayanan, Muntinlupa, was nabbed at about 4:50 p.m. in Barangay Putatan by personnel from the Muntinlupa Police Warrant and Subpoena Unit.

He was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued on Nov. 4 by Presiding Judge Lovella Demetria-Valdez of the Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court Branch 276 for carnapping. The court set the bail at P300,000.

After his arrest, he was brought to the Putatan Health Center for a routine medical examination before he was turned over to the Muntinlupa police’s custodial facility for documentation.
