Several Chinese nationals arrested in Camarines Norte for illegal construction of processing plant

Recently in the province of Camarines Norte, eleven Chinese nationals were arrested by local authorities for the illegal construction of a mineral processing plant, according to a Philippine News Agency (PNA) news article.

The Police Regional Office (PRO) 5 (Bicol) reported on Monday the arrest of 11 Chinese nationals involved in the illegal construction of a mineral processing plant in Camarines Norte on Sunday.

Lt. Col. Malu Calubaquib, PRO-5 spokesperson, said the arrest was conducted by personnel from the Bureau of Immigration (BI), the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC), Philippine National Police (PNP), and Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) in Purok 6, Barangay Tugos, Paracale, Camarines Norte.

Calubaquib identified the suspects as Liu Wei Xi, Chen Gui Hua, Chang Si Ci, Chen Chan Xia, Liu Wei Mang, Yu Yun Lai, Zhen Zi Yu, Li Chun, Jiu Zhong Ren, Lou Peng, and Sheng Yuan Fan.

“Their arrest was made under a mission order issued by the Bureau of Immigration against the Chinese nationals,” she said.

Calubaquib said the suspects were placed under the custody of the BI for further investigation and proper disposition.

Members of the Parañaque City Police arrested a karate instructor after breaking into and robbing a house in Barangay Tambo on Saturday, October 12.

The Southern Police District (SPD) immediately conducted an operation against the armed suspect identified as “Davy” following a robbery complaint filed against him by his victim.

According to the police investigation, the suspect suddenly entered the victim’s house at gunpoint and stole a gadget, an iPhone, and cash amounting to P5,000.

SPD Director Brig. Gen. Bernard Yang said police officers were able to track and arrest the suspect using a global positioning system (GPS) from the victim’s stolen mobile phone in Sta. Cruz, Manila.

Chinese national arrested in Parañaque City for illegal possession of firearm, grave threat and gun ban violation

Recently in the city of Parañaque, an armed Chinese national was arrested by the local police for illegally possessing a firearm, committing grave threat and violating the gun ban, according to a Manila Bulletin news report. The suspect had an intense argument with a fellow Chinese national.

A Chinese national was arrested for allegedly pointing a gun at his friend during a heated arguement in Parañaque City on Wednesday night, October 16.

The Southern Police District (SPD) identified the suspect as “Liu,”32. Liu was arrested at around 8:10 p.m. near a hotel in Barangay Don Galo, Parañaque City.

Based on the police investigation, the suspect had a heated argument with his compatriot identified as “Fang” while inside a vehicle driven by “Mark.”

Mark reportedly stopped the vehicle and sought assistance to some bystanders. Luckily, officers from the Parañaque Police Station Investigation and Detective Management Unit (SIDMU) who were conducting an operation near the area heard the commotion and responded to it.

Upon arrival, the officers witnessed Fang and Mark who had already subdued the suspect and were able to get hold of a pistol which Liu allegedly pointed to Fang.

Police recovered the .9mm pistol with five live ammunition from the suspect who failed to show any documents on the firearm.

Two men arrested during Parañaque City buy-bust operation, P680K worth of illegal substances confiscated

Recently in the City of Parañaque, two men got arrested as a result of a successful buy-bust operation in Barangay San Dionisio, according to a Manila Bulletin news report. Seized from them was almost P700,000 worth of illegal drugs.

Around P680,000 worth of shabu was confiscated from two drug suspects during a buy-bust operation in Barangay San Dionisio, Parañaque City on Thursday, October 10.

Members of the Parañaque City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) identified the suspects as “Hadji” and “Ben.”

Authorities conducted the operation following the complaints against the suspects for their illegal drug activities around their community.

The confiscated drug evidence, which was around 100 grams, was turned over to the Southern Police District Forensic Unit.

Five individuals arrested for the illegal towing of a vehicle in Las Piñas City

Recently in the City of Las Piñas, police officers arrested five individuals (described as employees of a certain company) for illegally towing a vehicle, according to a Manila Bulletin news report. The police responded to the complaint of a resident who told them that the suspects arrived at his residence and towed his vehicle.

Five employees of a credit management company and a towing service were arrested by members of the Las Piñas police for illegally towing a vehicle on Monday, September 30.

Southern Police District (SPD) Director Brig. Gen. Bernard Yang said the Las Piñas police, headed by Col. Sandro Tafalla reported the arrest of the suspects identified as alias Floyd, 26, alias Napoleon, 23, alias Jefferson, 27, all collection agent, alias Jeric, 27, helper; and alias Jaime, 55, driver.

Tafalla said the victim, identified as alias Angelo, 42, called for police assistance and claimed the suspects arrived at his residence in Barangay Talon Tres at around 8:22 p.m. He said the suspects illegally towed his vehicle, a Suzuki Alto.

The city police chief said police operatives who responded to the call demanded legal documents for the conduct of towing operation. However, the suspects failed to present any documents which led to their arrest.

The suspects were detained at the police custodial facility after their arrest and were charged for violation of RA 10883 or the New Anti Carnapping Act of 2016.

Las Piñas City police department receives fifteen bicycles from City Government

Recently in the City of Las Piñas, the local police department received new support from the City Government in the form of fifteen bicycles which should help the police officers navigate congested urban areas and other places within the city, according to a Manila Bulletin news report.

The Las Piñas city government donated 15 bicycles to the local police on Monday, September 23, as part of its efforts in ensuring peace and security in the city’s communities.

During its weekly flag raising ceremony, Las Piñas Vice Mayor April Aguilar turned over the bicycles to city police chief PCol. Samuel Tafalla.

Tafalla thanked the city government for its continued support to the local police, especially on its bicycle police patrols.

According to him, some of the benefits of expanding its bicycle patrols include enhanced mobility in crowded areas wherein bicycles allow officers to navigate congested urban areas, parks, and pedestrian zones more easily than patrol cars and other service vehicles.

Bicycle patrols also increase community engagement for the police because officers on bicycles are more approachable and visible to the public, promoting positive interactions with the community that enhances trust and communication between law enforcement and citizens.

Bicycles also provide officers with better crime detection as it enables them to observe minor details that might be missed from riding a vehicle.

A Chinese national involved in the Pasay road-rage shootout incident on September 21 was charged with illegal possession of firearm and concealing his true identity at the Parañaque City Prosecutor’s Office on Monday, September 23.

The suspect, identified as “Lin,” 34, was arrested by members of the Tambo Police Substation after receiving an alarm from the Pasay City Police that a suspect involved in a shooting incident fled towards the direction of Parañaque City onboard a white NWOW E-Bike that he stole.

Lin was arrested near a construction site on Macapagal Boulevard in Barangay Tambo.

During the investigation, the suspect was found using fictitious names to conceal his identity and previous crimes which include kidnapping and illegal possession of firearm.

Makers of fake passports and ID cards for POGO workers arrested

There is no doubt that Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs) added a lot to criminal activities and pain in the country which is why a national ban on them was declared. Still there is a lot to uncover with regards to the processing of records of people – both foreign and local – who worked for POGOs. Recently, law enforcers raided an office that turned out to be making fake passports and ID cards for POGO workers, according to a GMA Network news report. The suspects were arrested for falsifying public documents.

An office manufacturing fake documents like identification cards and passports was raided by the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) in Sampaloc, Manila.

According to John Consulta’s report on “24 Oras,” it was also discovered that the group was making fake IDs and passports for Chinese and Filipinos who work for Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs) in the country.

The location appears to be just a photocopying stall from the outside, but upon entering, the equipment and tools allegedly used to make fake IDs and documents were seen.

Pieces of evidence were recovered in the raid such as documents from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), Land Transportation Office (LTO), drug tests with negative results, and agency IDs, all of which are fake.

Several Central Processing Units (CPU) of the computers were also recovered, where the files of the contractors who work at POGO are being kept.

According to the NCRPO, this started with the fake IDs and passports of the Chinese that they handed over to the scam hub in Parañaque last month.

“Medyo mahirap-hirap hanapin. Palipat-lipat sila. Ang transaction ay three different persons. We were able to arrest personalities involved in the forging, falsification at paggawa nitong items na ito, lalo na ang passport, identification card, and birth certificate,” said Police Major General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr, NCRPO Regional Director.

(It’s a little hard to find. They move around. The transaction involves three different persons.)

Since the POGOs in the country are only valid until December, the NCRPO suspects that the Chinese are now busy making Philippine passports for them to stay in the Philippines.

“Ang kailangan nila during their travel, para undetected na maka-travel is to produce these kind of documents, lalo na ang passport,” said Nartatez.

(What they need during their travel, to be able to travel undetected is to produce these kinds of documents, especially the passport.)

Three people arrested in Muntinlupa City for multi-million Peso estafa scheme

Recently in the progressive City of Muntinlupa, law enforcers arrested three individuals for as a result of complaints received that the suspects were responsible for fraudulent activities involving a local property and several millions of Pesos, according to a Philippine News Agency (PNA) news article. The arrest happened in Barangay Poblacion.

Operatives of the Southern Police District (SPD) have arrested three suspects allegedly responsible for a PHP10 million estafa scheme known as ‘sangla-tira’ in Muntinlupa City.

In a report on Wednesday, SPD chief Brig. Gen. Leon Victor Rosete identified the suspects as alias ‘Alec’, 28, alias ‘Christina’, 48, and alias ‘Daniel’, 36, all arrested in an entrapment inside a restaurant in Barangay Poblacion at 3 p.m. Tuesday.

The operation stemmed from complaints about the suspects’ fraudulent activities related to the pawning and mortgage of a property located in Sucat, Muntinlupa City.

The suspects allegedly enticed victims with promises of substantial profits, using notarized contracts to lend an appearance of legality to their transactions.

During the operation, authorities recovered genuine a PHP1,000 bill on top of boodle money, three original sets of a contract to sell the property, two sets of acknowledgment receipts totaling PHP500,000, identification cards, mobile phones, and a gray Mitsubishi Expander registered to alias Christina while a Glock .9mm pistol was found in the possession of ‘Daniel’.

Further investigation revealed that Alec had previously been convicted for violation of Batas Pambansa 22 (Bouncing Check Law) by a court in Valenzuela City and was ordered to pay a fine of PHP400,000 and PHP1,000,000 as civil liability.
