Chinese National Rescued In Parañaque City, Foreign Suspects Arrested

Recently in the city of Parañaque, local police officers rescued a Chinese national and apprehended two foreign suspects, according to a Manila Bulletin news report. The police received an emergency call which led to the rescue.

Police rescued a Chinese national after receiving a 911 emergency call and arrested two of his compatriots who allegedly held him captive in Parañaque City on Dec. 27.

The Southern Police District (SPD) identified the victim as Zhenhai, a Chinese national, who was rescued at around 10:40 p.m. inside a condominium unit in Barangay Don Galo, Parañaque City. The suspects were identified as Haoxin, 38, and France, 37, both Chinese nationals and residents of Pandacan, Manila.

According to police, a duty officer at the Parañaque City Police Station Tactical Operations Center received a call through the 911 emergency hotline reporting that a Chinese national was being held against his will and threatened at gunpoint for allegedly refusing to pay a P25,000 debt, which he claimed he did not owe.

Personnel from the Parañaque City Police Station Niño Substation immediately responded to the report, leading to the rescue of the victim and the arrest of the two suspects.

Recovered from the suspects were a 9mm caliber pistol without a serial number, one magazine, and nine rounds of 9mm ammunition.

Authorities from the Parañaque City Police arrested a man allegedly under the influence of liquor after he pointed a gun at an online seller for no apparent reason on Christmas Day.

The Southern Police District (SPD) identified the suspect as Christian, 25, a resident of Barangay BF Homes, Parañaque City. He was apprehended at around 12:14 a.m. on Dr. A. Santos Avenue, in front of Hontiveros Compound, Barangay San Antonio, Parañaque City.

Police said the 22-year-old victim, an online seller, was walking in the area when the suspect suddenly approached her and, without provocation, pulled out a handgun and pointed it at her.

The victim cried for help, drawing the attention of nearby bystanders. The suspect attempted to flee but was immediately restrained and arrested.

Recovered from the suspect was a .22-caliber revolver loaded with five live rounds of ammunition, found inside a dark brown sling bag.

Police arrested a 55-year-old man who attacked his nephew with a samurai sword after being reprimanded for making a loud noise on New Year’s Day in Parañaque City.

The Southern Police District (SPD) identified the suspect as Jerome, who was arrested at around 8:00 a.m. at his residence in Barangay Don Galo.

Police said the suspect and his 25-year-old nephew, who were living in the same house, figured in a heated argument after the victim asked him to keep the noise down as some relatives were resting following the New Year’s Eve celebration.

The suspect allegedly became furious, armed himself with a samurai sword, and attacked the victim. However, family members were able to intervene and prevent further harm.

Responding police officers, with the assistance of barangay watchmen, subdued the suspect and recovered from him a 15-inch-long samurai sword.

Recently in the city of Parañaque, local police officers successfully pulled of a buy-bust operation resulting in the arrest of a drug suspect and the seizure of illegal drugs worth more than P700,000, according to a new report by Manila Bulletin.

Authorities from the Parañaque City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEI) conducted a buy-bust operation that led to the arrest of a drug suspect and in the confiscation of P714,000 worth of shabu on Tuesday, Dec. 23.

The Southern Police District (SPD) identified the suspect as John, 23, a resident of Barangay BF Homes, Parañaque City. He was arrested at around 4:00 p.m. at Hontiveros Compound in Barangay San Antonio.

Police said the suspect was apprehended after selling five grams of shabu worth P34,000 to an undercover police officer during the operation.

Recovered from the suspect were a total of 105 grams of shabu valued at P714,000, the buy-bust money, a black pouch, and a black cellular phone allegedly being used in the drug transaction.

Recently in the city of Parañaque, local police officers successfully pulled of a buy-bust operation resulting in the apprehension of seven suspects and the seizure of fake merchandise worth more than P5 million, according to a news report by the Daily Tribune.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Saturday reported the seizure of P5.2 million worth of counterfeit merchandise and the arrest of seven individuals during a buy-bust operation in Parañaque City.

Operatives from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group–Specialized Mission and Monitoring Division Field Unit (CIDG-SMMDFU), in coordination with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), carried out the operation around 12:15 p.m. on December 18 at the third floor of a commercial establishment in Barangay San Dionisio.

Authorities confiscated 386 bales of counterfeit SHEIN products allegedly intended for local distribution. Buy-bust money and other pieces of evidence were also recovered from the premises.

The seven adult Filipino suspects were charged with violations of Republic Act No. 3883, which prohibits counterfeit and pirated goods; Republic Act No. 8293, the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines; and Republic Act No. 10175, the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012. They are currently in custody of the CIDG-SMMDFU and will face inquest proceedings.

PNP Acting Chief Police Lieutenant General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said the operation reflects the agency’s ongoing effort to curb illegal trade and intellectual property violations.

A 21-year-old man was arrested by operatives of the Parañaque City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) after yielding P134,000 worth of marijuana kush during a buy-bust operation on Dec. 18.

The Southern Police District (SPD) identified the suspect as Given, who was apprehended along Sta. Lucia Street, Barangay Moonwalk, Parañaque City, for his alleged involvement in the illegal sale of marijuana kush.

Police said the operation was conducted following intensified surveillance and intelligence validation in response to reports of ongoing drug transactions in the area.

During the operation, the suspect was caught selling marijuana to a police poseur-buyer. Authorities confiscated 96 grams of marijuana kush worth P134,000.

Also recovered from the suspect were a red pouch used to conceal the illegal drugs, a sachet containing dried marijuana leaves, and the buy-bust money.

A 26-year-old Chinese national was rescued in a condominium in Parañaque City after allegedly being kidnapped, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) reported Sunday.

In a statement, the NCRPO said authorities conducted a rescue operation after they received a report through the PNP Hotline Facebook page.

The victim was found in a condominium unit in Barangay Don Galo on Saturday with four male and one female foreign suspects.

Initial investigation showed that the victim had allegedly been detained since December 9, with suspects demanding P1 million for his release.

The victim said P500,000 had already been handed over. The suspects were placed under police custody for proper investigation.

Recently in the city of Parañaque, local police officers organized a successful buy-bust operation which resulted in three men arrested and the seizure of illegal drugs worth more than P2 million, according to a news report by the Daily Tribune.

Three men were nabbed and more than P2.1 million worth of suspected shabu were seized in a buy-bust operation in Parañaque City late Wednesday night, the Southern Police District (SPD) reported.

Authorities said the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) of the Parañaque City Police conducted the operation at Unit 2908, 3rd Floor, Aguarra Street, Barangay Baclaran.

Arrested were 31-year-old alias “Olrac,” identified as a high-value target; 27-year-old alias “Rowelle”; and 43-year-old alias “Francis.” They were caught after allegedly selling illegal drugs to an undercover officer.

Recovered were 310 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P2,108,000, along with the marked money used during the operation.

Two Chinese nationals wanted in their home country were arrested in Parañaque City for alleged involvement in running online gambling websites, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) reported Wednesday.

The BI identified the Chinese nationals as 38-year-old Wu Huifu and 48-year-old Li Yong. The BI’s Fugitive Search Unit took the two into custody during an operation in Barangay Tambo on Tuesday evening. Li is said to be an assistant of Wu.

The arrest followed information relayed by Chinese authorities, who said both men are subjects of arrest warrants.

According to BI Deputy Spokesperson Marvin Mabulac, the two have been operating multiple overseas online gambling platforms where they “manipulate betting systems to defraud players.” This, in turn, prolongs player activity and increases bets, which results in losses for participants and profits estimated at CNY8.6 million. The operation had already victimized around 500,000 players.

Authorities from the Parañaque City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) conducted a buy-bust operation leading to the arrest of two construction workers in possession of P102,000 worth of shabu on Dec. 3.

The Southern Police District (SPD) said the suspects were identified as Tisoy, 27, and Niño, 33. They were arrested at around 8:10 a.m. at San Juan De Coastal, Barangay San Dionisio, Parañaque City.

The police said that members of the SDEU launched a buy-bust operation for the arrest of the suspects after receiving reports of their illegal drug activities in the said place.

Tisoy was caught in possession of seven grams of shabu, including the subject of sale, and Niño with four grams, totaling 15 grams worth P102,000.

The suspects were detained at the Parañaque City Police custodial facility and were charged with violations of Sections 5 and 11 of RA 9165.
