LGBTQ member arrested in Las Piñas City for child abuse

Recently in the City of Las Piñas, police officers arrested a person identified with the LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer) community over the charge of child abuse, according to a Manila Bulletin news report. The law enforcers carried a warrant of arrest issued by a certain branch of the Las Piñas City Family Court.

A member of the LGBTQ community was arrested by the Las Piñas City Police for child abuse on Wednesday, October 16, Las Piñas Police chief PCol. Sandro Tafalla said.

The suspect was identified as “Butchoko,” 42. He was arrested at around 4:45 p.m. in Barangay Talon Uno, Las Piñas City.

Tafalla said the suspect was tagged as Top 6 most wanted person under the station level for the month of October in violation of Republic Act 7610 or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act.

Butchokoy was arrested by virtue of warrant of arrest issued by Judge Mildred Jacinto Marquez Balmaceda of the Las Piñas City Family Court Branch 2 on September 9, 2024, with a P200,000 recommended bail.

Two men arrested during Parañaque City buy-bust operation, P680K worth of illegal substances confiscated

Recently in the City of Parañaque, two men got arrested as a result of a successful buy-bust operation in Barangay San Dionisio, according to a Manila Bulletin news report. Seized from them was almost P700,000 worth of illegal drugs.

Around P680,000 worth of shabu was confiscated from two drug suspects during a buy-bust operation in Barangay San Dionisio, Parañaque City on Thursday, October 10.

Members of the Parañaque City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) identified the suspects as “Hadji” and “Ben.”

Authorities conducted the operation following the complaints against the suspects for their illegal drug activities around their community.

The confiscated drug evidence, which was around 100 grams, was turned over to the Southern Police District Forensic Unit.

Chinese national arrested in Parañaque City for illegal possession of firearm, grave threat and gun ban violation

A Chinese national was arrested for allegedly pointing a gun at his friend during a heated arguement in Parañaque City on Wednesday night, October 16.

The Southern Police District (SPD) identified the suspect as “Liu,”32. Liu was arrested at around 8:10 p.m. near a hotel in Barangay Don Galo, Parañaque City.

Based on the police investigation, the suspect had a heated argument with his compatriot identified as “Fang” while inside a vehicle driven by “Mark.”

Mark reportedly stopped the vehicle and sought assistance to some bystanders. Luckily, officers from the Parañaque Police Station Investigation and Detective Management Unit (SIDMU) who were conducting an operation near the area heard the commotion and responded to it.

Upon arrival, the officers witnessed Fang and Mark who had already subdued the suspect and were able to get hold of a pistol which Liu allegedly pointed to Fang.

Police recovered the .9mm pistol with five live ammunition from the suspect who failed to show any documents on the firearm.

Five individuals arrested for the illegal towing of a vehicle in Las Piñas City

Five employees of a credit management company and a towing service were arrested by members of the Las Piñas police for illegally towing a vehicle on Monday, September 30.

Southern Police District (SPD) Director Brig. Gen. Bernard Yang said the Las Piñas police, headed by Col. Sandro Tafalla reported the arrest of the suspects identified as alias Floyd, 26, alias Napoleon, 23, alias Jefferson, 27, all collection agent, alias Jeric, 27, helper; and alias Jaime, 55, driver.

Tafalla said the victim, identified as alias Angelo, 42, called for police assistance and claimed the suspects arrived at his residence in Barangay Talon Tres at around 8:22 p.m. He said the suspects illegally towed his vehicle, a Suzuki Alto.

The city police chief said police operatives who responded to the call demanded legal documents for the conduct of towing operation. However, the suspects failed to present any documents which led to their arrest.

The suspects were detained at the police custodial facility after their arrest and were charged for violation of RA 10883 or the New Anti Carnapping Act of 2016.

The Las Piñas city government donated 15 bicycles to the local police on Monday, September 23, as part of its efforts in ensuring peace and security in the city’s communities.

During its weekly flag raising ceremony, Las Piñas Vice Mayor April Aguilar turned over the bicycles to city police chief PCol. Samuel Tafalla.

Tafalla thanked the city government for its continued support to the local police, especially on its bicycle police patrols.

According to him, some of the benefits of expanding its bicycle patrols include enhanced mobility in crowded areas wherein bicycles allow officers to navigate congested urban areas, parks, and pedestrian zones more easily than patrol cars and other service vehicles.

Bicycle patrols also increase community engagement for the police because officers on bicycles are more approachable and visible to the public, promoting positive interactions with the community that enhances trust and communication between law enforcement and citizens.

Bicycles also provide officers with better crime detection as it enables them to observe minor details that might be missed from riding a vehicle.

The suspect, identified as “Lin,” 34, was arrested by members of the Tambo Police Substation after receiving an alarm from the Pasay City Police that a suspect involved in a shooting incident fled towards the direction of Parañaque City onboard a white NWOW E-Bike that he stole.

Lin was arrested near a construction site on Macapagal Boulevard in Barangay Tambo.

During the investigation, the suspect was found using fictitious names to conceal his identity and previous crimes which include kidnapping and illegal possession of firearm.

Vietnamese victim rescued and three Chinese nationals arrested in Parañaque City

Recently in the city of Parañaque, the local police arrested three Chinese nationals who allegedly robbed and abducted a 23-year-old Vietnamese woman who managed to escape from her captors, according to a Manila Bulletin news report. The suspects have been charged with robbery, grave coercion, illegal detention, possession of illegal drugs, and illegal possession of firearms.

A female Vietnamese national who was robbed and abducted by three Chinese men was rescued by members of the Parañaque City Police on Tuesday, August 6.

The victim was identified as “Lang,” 23 and is said to be working in a money exchange services business in Manila. Meanwhile, the suspects were identified as “Jun,” 31, “Hao,” 27, and “Zhang,” 26.

The police said Lang was rescued after she managed to escape from one of her abductors who fell asleep while guarding her and sought assistance from a lobby security guard of a condominium building located in Barangay Tambo, Parañaque City. The police immediately responded to the report of the security guard and rescued the victim.

Lang said her workplace caters to several Chinese nationals and foreigners seeking to exchange currencies.

At around 12:20 a.m. on August 6, one of the suspects contacted her through Telegram for a meeting to exchange Vietnamese dong to Philippine peso.

Upon arrival at the condominium unit, Lang said she was threatened by Hao with a knife and forcibly took her cellphone. The suspects transported her to an unknown location on board a Ford Ranger pickup.

The suspects forcibly obtained her cellphone password including her facial ID to access her online bank account where they were able to transfer her money to an unknown account amounting to 8,940,000,000 Vietnamese dong from Vietcombank, P1,000,000 worth of jewelry, and P300,000 cash.

Police recovered from the arrested suspects two .9mm pistols; a North American Ans Black Widow 22 Magnum revolver; various ammunitions; P236,000 cash; several electronic devices such as an Apple iPad, Apple MacBook Air, and seven iPhones; a Chinese passport in the name of “Liu”; and a Vietnamese passport under the name of “Dong.”

They also yielded a set of vehicle license plates; one matte black Ford Ranger Sport; 76 ecstasy tablets with an estimated value of P129,200; and 5 grams of suspected shabu worth P34,000.

Police officers rescue kidnapped foreigners and apprehend suspects in Las Piñas City

Recently in the City of Las Piñas, local police officers rescued four foreigners who were kidnapped and illegal detained by their compatriots over a car accident matter that involves money, according to a Manila Bulletin news report. The suspects were arrested as well but two others got away.

Members of the Las Piñas City police rescued four Indian nationals who were kidnapped and illegally detained by four of their compatriots for non-payment of their P200,000 car accident settlement on July 5.

Las Piñas City police chief Col. Sandro Tafalla reported to the Southern Police District (SPD) the arrest of alias Ramanathan, 22; alias Devesh, 22; alias Sanjay, 22; and alias Venkata, 21, all Indian nationals.

Tafalla said the four suspects were arrested at around 10:30 p.m. at a residential building located at Barangay Pamplona Tres, Las Piñas.

He said two other suspects, identified as alias Lmahen and alias Shivarishi, were able to escape during the rescue operation and are now being hunted by the police.

The city police chief said the rescued victims were identified as alis Ven, 21; alias Vam, 21; alias Sai, 22; and alias Kal, 19.

Tafalla said the victims were allegedly robbed and detained by the suspects for their failure to pay the P200,000 car accident settlement.

He said the victims rented a Nissan Tiera owned by Shivarishi in going to Nasugbu, Batangas last May 24 but they unfortunately had an accident.

The police said suspect, Shavarishi, reportedly demanded the victims to pay the amount of P700,000 after his car suffered damages but the victims reportedly paid only P500,000.

Tafalla said by failing to to pay the remaining P200,000, the victims were kidnapped, robbed, and illegally detained by the suspects on July 5.

He said a friend of the victims reported the incident to the police and a rescue operation was launched.

The city police chief said recovered during the operation were a white Hyundai Accent with license plate DAC 2660, one wooden broomstick, and one metal dustpan, which were reportedly used in the assaults.
