The Las Piñas City Government, through the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) and Local Youth Development Office (LYDO), distributed educational assistance to 850 beneficiaries during a school supplies awarding ceremony held on Friday, July 4, at the Mayor Nene Aguilar Aguilar DRRMO Building in Talon Dos.

Mayor April Aguilar led the distribution of school bags containing essential items for the new academic year, including five notebooks, a lunchbox, tumbler, scientific calculator, ruler set, scissors, and an umbrella. Joining her in personally handing out the supplies were Sangguniang Kabataan Federation Chairperson Rey Angelo Reyes and CSWDO head Lowefe Romulo.

Recently in the City of Las Piñas, over two hundred fifty victims of fire and flood received aid provided by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) which partnered with the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), according to the social media announcement of the City Government.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development-National Capital Region (DSWD-NCR), in partnership with the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) of Las Piñas, distributed Livelihood Settlement Grants to fire and flood victims at the Las Piñas Multipurpose Hall, benefiting a total of 253 individuals affected by recent calamities.

Among the beneficiaries were 86 fire victims from Barangays Elias Aldana, Pilar, Talon Tres, and CAA, and 167 flood victims from Barangays Pamplona Tres, Talon Tres, and Elias Aldana. Each qualified beneficiary received financial assistance ranging from ₱10,000 to ₱15,000, depending on the validation results of DSWD-NCR.

The grant aimed to support individuals with small-scale businesses or livelihoods disrupted by the said disasters. The payout process, handled by CSWDO and DSWD-NCR personnel, ensured that aid was provided efficiently and directly to qualified recipients.

Las Piñas City Mayor Imelda Aguilar led the distribution of cash assistance to 139 rice retailers at Las Piñas City Café in the City Hall grounds on Tuesday, Sept. 12.

The mayor said the City Agriculture Office (CAO), in coordination with the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), distributed P15,000 cash assistance to each of the beneficiaries.

Aguilar took a decisive stance in response to the rising prices of rice to safeguard the city’s small-scale rice retailers, traders, and vendors.

The cash assistance is just the beginning of the city government’s initiatives to help its small rice business owners, said Aguilar, showing her commitment to aiding local businesses and prioritizing community welfare.

The mayor also revealed that the city government is in the process of developing a more comprehensive plan to support local rice traders and vendors.

Here are the latest developments related to the public service the City Government of Las Piñas has been doing.

Yesterday, the City Government headed by Mayor Imelda Aguilar with Vice Mayor April Aguilar-Nery formally accepted the donation of two thousand hot meals and bottled water from Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles (Task Force Zero Hunger chairperson) under the PILIPINAS Kontra Gutom (PKG) multi-sectoral coalition.
