Gunrunning suspects arrested by PNP-CIDG in Parañaque City

Recently in the city of Parañaque, elements of the Philippine National Police – Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) successfully pulled of an entrapment operation resulting in the apprehension of three gunrunning suspects and the seizure of loose firearms, according to a Manila Bulletin news report.

Three gunrunning suspects were arrested and five loose firearms were seized by the Philippine National Police – Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) during an entrapment operation in Parañaque City, a ranking official bared Friday, June 20.

Police Brig. Gen. Rolindo M. Suguilon, CIDG officer-in-charge, identified the suspects as alias “Johnel”, an electrical engineer; “James”, a businessman; and “Rolyn”, a dentist.

The suspects were allegedly caught in the act of delivering and trading five unlicensed firearms at an open parking lot of a mall in Barangay Tambo last June 18.

Authorities recovered from the suspects three caliber 5.56 Bushmaster rifles, a caliber 9mm pistol, and a caliber 22 pistol.

“The suspects are allegedly involved in gunrunning and the illegal firearms trade operating within the National Capital Region,” Suguilon said.

Three drug suspects who were tagged by the police as street-level individuals (SLI), were arrested during the conduct of a buy-bust operation by the Paranaque City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) on June 4.

The Southern Police District (SPD) identified the suspects as Jhelne, 28; Jeffrey, 42; and Jayson, 39. They were arrested at around 12:10 a.m. at the Puyat Compound, Barangay Tambo, Paranaque City.

The SPD said the SDEU conducted an anti-illegal drugs operation targeting a certain Jhelyn who was reported to be hooked on drugs.

The SDEU was able to confiscate from the suspects about 25 grams of shabu worth P170,000, the P500 marked money used in the buy-bust operation, and a black cellular phone.

Motorcycle rider in Parañaque City caught carrying illegal substances worth over P300,000

Recently in the City of Parañaque, local police officers apprehended a motorcycle rider who carried with him more than P300,000 worth of illegal substances, according to a Manila Bulletin news report. The suspect was initially stopped for not wearing a helment.

A motorcycle rider initially stopped by police for not wearing a helmet was later found transporting P307,000 worth of illegal drugs in Parañaque City on Friday, May 23.

The suspect, identified as alias “Hidehiro,” 21, a resident of Tondo Manila, was apprehended at around 4:50 a.m. in front of Imperial Plaza on Diosdado Macapagal Boulevard in Barangay Tambo, Parañaque City.

Officers from the Parañaque City Police Tambo Substation, conducting “Oplan Sita,” flagged down the suspect for failing to wear a helmet.

When police asked for Hidehiro’s driver’s license and motorcycle documents, he refused and attempted to flee by abandoning his motorcycle.

Upon inspection, police found in the suspect’s motorcycle compartment 40 grams of shabu packed in 15 aluminum sachets and 10 transparent sachets, with a total value of P272,000, along with ecstasy tablets worth P35,000.

Two Chinese nationals arrested in Parañaque City for selling unregistered medicines

The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) have arrested two Chinese nationals allegedly involved in selling unregistered medicines in Metro Manila.

Agents of the CIDG-Detective and Special Operations Unit nabbed suspects Hu and Quan in a buy-bust at Concorde Village, Tambo, Parañaque City past midnight Saturday.

According to a news release Sunday, the CIDG agents confiscated two boxes of OTC 999 – Ganmaoling Keli, 20 boxes of Glucophage – Metformin Hydrochloride Extended-release tablets, two boxes of Amlodepine Besilate tablets, three boxes of Linou – Gliclazide tablets, two boxes of OTC – Longdan Xiegan pills, four boxes of Zhibai Dihuang pills, one box of Bear Bile powder, 12 boxes Diamicron – Gliclazide tablets and 16 boxes Bayaspirin – Aspirin Enteric-coated tablets.

The medicines, with an estimated market value of PHP15,000, are not registered with the Food and Drug Administration.

The suspects will be charged with violation of Section 11 of Republic Act 9711 (FDA Act of 2009) which prohibits manufacturing, importation, export, sale, distribution and transfer of unregistered drugs.

CIDG chief Brig. Gen. Nicolas Torre urged the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities related to the sale of unregistered medicines.

NBI agents arrest 12 Chinese nationals in Parañaque City for alleged scamming and immigration violations, 5 locals arrested for bribery attempt at NBI office

Recently in the city of Parañaque, agents of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) apprehended twelve Chinese nationals and five locals for alleged scamming operations and an attempt of bribery, according to a Philippine News Agency (PNA) news article.

Twelve Chinese nationals and five Filipinos were arrested for alleged scamming operations and attempted bribery, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) bared Tuesday.

The foreigners were arrested in an operation on Jan. 8, 2025, at the Rance Corporate Center Aseana City in Tambo, Paranaque City for alleged violation of the Philippine Immigration Act.

During the operation, NBI personnel found “romance or love scam scripts, messaging applications with fictitious accounts, bank accounts, and fraudulent cryptocurrency scams, and fake investment schemes.”

The discovery resulted in the arrest of 12 Chinese nationals namely: Xu Chao, Meng Wei Shi, Xing Chao, Qin Hai Feng, Li Xiang Hua, Zhang Wei, Wang Qin Xiang, Wang Jia Fa, Jiang Qi Long, Luo Shang Fen, Qixin Wang, and Chen Jiang Song.

The NBI said while the operatives were preparing to return to headquarters with the arrested subjects, a certain Ezechiel Bernales volunteered to come with them, claiming that he is the suspects’ official interpreter.

Bernales allegedly told the NBI operatives that Wang Qin Xiang and Qixin Wang were offering to pay PHP300,000 for the release of each arrested individual or a total of PHP3,600,000.

An entrapment operation was then conducted at the parking lot of the NBI office in Pasay City on Jan. 10 resulting in the arrest of Bernales and four others, namely: Robustiano Hizon, John Abunda Villanueva, Kristoffer Habelito Baguna, and Hanif Bautil.

DILG will ask Parañaque City Government to explain scam hub operation with hundreds of workers

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) will ask the Parañaque government for an explanation over the raided company in the city that was allegedly involved in scam hub operations, Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla said Friday.

The raid took place only a few days after the December 31, 2024 deadline for Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO) in the country.

“Magsusulat kami sa LGU para… manghihingi kami ng paliwanag kung ano talaga ang nangyari,” Remulla said in an ambush interview.

(We will write to the LGU so we can ask for an explanation on what really happened.)

This came after authorities raided a company in the city on Wednesday and arrested 400 foreigners.

Remulla, however, said he believes that the local government was unaware of the presence of the company as it has yet to inspect the area where the raid took place.

“Hindi pa alam ng Parañaque ‘yan kasi hindi pa nag re-renew ng business permit. Doon lang naman pumapasok ‘yan, basta nag re-renew ng business permit ‘yan,” he said.

(Parañaque does not know about that because they have yet to renew their business permit. That’s the only way they can inspect, as long as they renew their business permit.)

The official said it seems that the hub was previously operating as a POGO under the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation.

“They supposedly shut down [on] December 15 pero nag resume kaagad sila right after ng December 31. Chineck natin ‘yung mga buildings na ‘yun wala na sila doon pero bumalik at bumalik sila,” Remulla said.

(They supposedly shut down on December 15 but resumed immediately after December 31. We checked those buildings and they were no longer there, but they went back.)

More than 400 individuals allegedly engaged in online scams were arrested by law enforcement agencies in Parañaque City on Wednesday, Jan. 8.

Southern Police District director Brig. Gen. Manuel Abrugena said the Parañaque City Police rendered assistance to the joint operation conducted by the Bureau of Immigration (BI) and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).

Abrugena said the 400 individuals, composed of foreign nationals and Filipinos, were arrested at around 4:00 p.m. in two units of a corporate center on Asiana Avenue in Barangay Tambo, Parañaque City.

He said the operation was conducted as part of a BI mission order targeting foreign nationals involved in illegal activities in the country.

The SPD chief said the arrested persons were engaged in various unlawful activities, including operating online scams and violating immigration laws.

Abrugena said the arrested persons, including one alias “Liang,” are now (under) investigation. They were brought to the BI facility for documentation and legal action.

A Chinese national was arrested by the Parañaque City Police for illegal possession of drugs and a replica gun on Friday, Dec. 13.

Southern Police District (SPD) director Brig. Gen. Bernard Yang identified the suspect as “Yuanbo,” 30. He was arrested by the Tambo Police Substation on D. Macapagal Boulevard in Barangay Tambo.

Yang said operatives from Tambo Police Substation were conducting routine patrol when they spotted the suspect on board an illegally parked white Toyota Vios.

Upon approaching the car, Yuanbo rudely instructed the officers to go away. This prompted them to ask for the suspect’s driver’s license and vehicle registration which he has none.

While inspecting Yuanbo’s car, the policemen recovered an airsoft gun between the driver and passenger seat of the vehicle as well as 11 grams of shabu worth P74,800 and a block of marijuana leaves worth P120,000.

Southern Police District (SPD) Director Brig. Gen. Bernard Yang said the suspects, identified as alias “Jerry,” 34, and alias “Ricardo,” 36, were arrested at around 4:30 a.m. on Riverside I, Pugad Baboy, Barangay Tambo, Parañaque City.

Yang said joint operatives of the Parañaque City Police Station Intelligence Section (SIS), Tambo Substation 2 and Special Weapon and Tactics Team (SWAT) and the Barangay Peace and Order Council implemented the search warrant issued by Judge Marie Grace Javier Ibay, of Parañaque City Regional Trial Court, which led to the arrest of the suspects.

Confiscated from the suspect were two .38 caliber revolvers with five ammunitions each, 10 pieces of .45 caliber pistol ammunitions, and a hand grenade.

Man arrested in Parañaque City for illegal possession of a firearm

Recently in the city of Parañaque, law enforcers armed with a search warrant arrested a 24-year-old man for the possession of an illegal firearm, according to a Manila Bulletin news report.

A 24-year-old man was arrested during a search warrant operation targeting illegal firearm possession in Parañaque City on Wednesday, October 30.

The individual, known by the alias “Enrico,” was taken into custody at approximately 4:06 a.m. by a joint team comprising officers from the Tambo Police Substation, the Station Investigation and Detective Management Section, and the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) unit.

The operation was conducted under a search warrant authorized by Judge Jaime M. Guray, the Executive Judge of the Regional Trial Court Branch 260 within the National Capital Judicial Region.

According to police reports, the items seized from Enrico included a .380 caliber pistol, seven rounds of ammunition, a magazine for the .380 caliber pistol, and an improvised 12-gauge shotgun (sumpak) along with two rounds of ammunition.
