House of Lasagna to open new branch in BF Homes this March!

Are you fond of delicious lasagna and dining along Aguirre Avenue inside BF Homes Subdivision, Parañaque City with your friends or family members? Well, you will be happy to learn that popular lasagna maker and restaurant chain House of Lasagana announced recently via social media that it will open a brand new branch in BF Homes this coming March!

The big announcement from the Facebook page of House of Lasagna.

Their Facebook announcement goes as follows: To our House of Lasagna family in the south, we heard you!!! We are finally opening a branch near you all to serve you better! We are beyond excited to bring fresher and hotter lasagnas into every home in the south! Delivery is way faster too! We can’t wait for opening day when we can all welcome you into our HOUSE in the SOUTH. We are located along Aguirre Ave. BF Homes Paranaque. See you all very soon!

For the newcomers reading this, House of Lasagna is an Italian inspired restaurant chain that first started in 2009 in the City of San Juan, established by Chef Erick Congmon. Since then, House of Lasagana expanded around Metro Manila and I personally enjoyed a delicious meal at their SM MOA branch back in 2018.

Back to the south, opening a restaurant in BF Homes brings House of Lasagna closer to the residents and food enthusiasts of South Metro Manila given the fact that the subdivision itself is connected with not only Parañaque but also with the cities of Muntinlupa and Las Piñas. Imagine how many people living in the varied villages of Alabang, BF Resort, Barangay BF Homes and other nearby populated zones would come into BF Homes for House of Lasagna which has already established its credibility of serving very delicious food that are well cooked.

In line with its business name, House of Lasagna has a fine selection of lasagnas that customers can choose from based on their taste such as beef lasagna, chicken lasagna, three-cheese lasagna, vegetable lasagna, pesto lasagna and others.

I personally recommend their beef lasagna which is of top-notch quality! Last Christmas, a friend of mine gifted me and my family with one whole beef lasagna of House of Lasagna delivered by motorcycle. I can share to you all reading this that each bite I had of the beef lasagna really tasted good and the pasta used is smooth yet firm to chew on. It was so tasty, condiments were not necessary anymore.

This is the beef lasagna of House of Lasagna that was delivered to our home last Christmas thanks to a very generous friend of mine.
A close look at my first serving of House of Lasagna’s beef lasagna.

Other than lasagna, they also sell southern-style fried chicken, spaghetti and meatballs, creamy pesto and chicken wings to name some. As if that was not enough, House of Lasagna also offers cakes and pastries!

Now that you know the news about House of Lasagna BF Homes branch, I encourage you to share this article and details to other food enthusiasts you know. On my end, once House of Lasagna announces the exact date as to when their BF Homes branch will open, I will update you all.

COVID-19 Crisis: Muntinlupa City registers lowest COVID-19 attack rate, case transmission risk in Metro Manila

Muntinlupa City has the lowest COVID-19 average daily attack rate and case transmission risk among Metro Manila cities as of November 1, according to the Department of Health’s Metro Manila Center for Health Development.

Muntinlupa City Health Officer Dra. Teresa Tuliao reported the improving scenario in the city to the city’s COVID-19 Task Force during a Virtual Meeting with Department of Transportation secretary Arthur Tugade and Mayor Jaime Fresnedi yesterday.

Tuliao said that as per DOH report, Muntinlupa garnered a -55.27% 2-Week Growth Rate and an Average Daily Attack Rate of 1.99 over 100,000 population. The 2-Week Growth Rate of NCR is -37.45% while the Average Daily Attack Rate is 3.68/100,000 population. She noted that the data reflects the slowing down of community transmission in the city. DOH-NCR has given Muntinlupa a Low Risk classification.

As of November 23, the recovery rate in the city has further improved to 95.88% while the doubling time has increased to 20.66 days. Doubling time refers to the number of days for COVID-19 cases to double in number. The Muntinlupa City Health Office also recorded two barangays with zero active cases: Brgy. Buli and Brgy. Sucat.

Further, Tuliao noted that the construction of the 144-bed ‘We Heal As One’ quarantine facility in Pacwood Site, Brgy. Tunasan and weekly coordination with DOTr Sec. Tugade and other DOTr execs contributed to the decrease and slowing down of cases in the city.

As of November 24, the isolation facility has accommodated at least 109 residents who tested positive for COVID-19 and suspect cases. Individuals admitted in the facility are given free P300 sim load / data allocation allowance, meals, medicine, and hygiene kits. A medical team, including a dedicated nutritionist, is also assigned in the facility to conduct regular check-up consultations.

The isolation center in Pacwood Site, Tunasan is subject to DOH inspection to be recognized as a PhilHealth-accredited facility. Another ‘We Heal As One’ Center is being constructed beside the Filinvest Tent in Alabang.

Meanwhile, the local health office is closely monitoring evacuees affected by the recent typhoons that are still staying in various evacuation centers in the city. Medical teams are deployed in the centers to administer vaccination and swabbing of residents who manifest COVID-19 symptoms. ‘Symptomatic’ evacuees are isolated in evacuation centers and referred to quarantine facilities. Currently, Muntinlupa has zero dengue and leptospirosis case.

Muntinlupa City has 4,852 confirmed COVID-19 cases with 4,652 recoveries, 42 active cases, 158 reported deaths, 26 suspect cases, and 240 probable cases as of November 24.

Muntinlupa City prepares for Typhoon Rolly, public urged to reinforce houses due to anticipated strong winds

As Typhoon Rolly continues to intensify while moving westward towards Luzon, Muntinlupa City Mayor Jaime Fresnedi convened the Local Disaster Risk Response and Management (LDRRM) to discuss the City Government’s preparation and response efforts.

Today Mayor Fresnedi presided the LDRRM council and ordered barangay chairmen to prepare for preemptive evacuation and implement disaster risk response protocols. He also ordered the city and barangay risk reduction and management teams to be put on red-alert. The local exec also urged the public to inspect their houses and have necessary reinforcements especially in their roofs as Typhoon Rolly is expected to bring strong winds.

“Maging handa po tayo sa parating na bagyo dahil mas malakas po ito sa nauna. Dapat ay maging seryoso tayo sa paghahanda,” Fresnedi said.

According to the latest forecast track of DOST-PAGASA, the center of the eye of Typhoon Rolly is likely to make landfall over the Aurora-Quezon area on Sunday evening or Monday early morning.

The typhoon is forecasted to continuously intensify over the Philippine Sea and is likely to make landfall at peak intensity of 175-185 km/h. Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal 3-4 is expected to be raised in Metro Manila.

Already the City Government is preparing for the prepositioning of emergency response resources and equipment such as rescue boats, generators, emergency vehicles, search and rescue equipment, among others.

Pruning of trees at dangerous areas are also being prepared by the local environmental sanitation center. Construction sites are set to be inspected to ensure safety precautions on “cranes” and “construction booms” while billboards in the city will be rolled up this weekend.

As of October 30, the Muntinlupa City Department of Disaster Risk Resilience and Management Department (MCDRRM) recorded the water level in Laguna de Bay at 1.61 meters (normal). The warning level is from 4.5 to 6.75 meters and above. MCDRRM has coordinated with the Philippine Coast Guard for monitoring in Laguna de Bay.

MCDRRM advised the public to be vigilant and monitor advisories from PAG-ASA and the City Government.

Recently, the local disaster response department installed early warning system across the city to inform communities in a timely manner about typhoon signal warnings, severe flooding, and earthquakes, among others.

For emergency concerns, the public may reach the city’s hotline at 137-175.

Mayor Jaime Fresnedi presented local programs and best practices in Muntinlupa City towards curbing COVID-19 during the National Task Force Against COVID-19 Team visit and launching of the Barangay Disiplina Brigades in the city yesterday.

The Coordinated Operations to Defeat Epidemic (CODE) Team, headed by the National Task Force (NTF) Against COVID-19 and the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID), organized a meeting with the City Government officials to discuss the strategies, intervention methods and good practices against COVID-19 at the Plaza Central in Barangay Poblacion.

He extended his thanks to “Big Brother” Department of Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade for his assistance to Muntinlupa and expediting national government services in the city. Recently, Tugade was assigned to the city to monitor its health system performance, critical care capacity, and stringent compliance to surveillance, isolation, and treatment protocols.

For his part, Secretary Tugade lauded Muntinlupa’s existing processes, policies, facilities, and equipped personnel working towards the fight against COVID-19.

“After working with the City Government officials for two weeks, I can say that Muntinlupa is doing well in terms of its response efforts and there is only little work that we need to add,” Tugade said.
