Almost 1,800 Las Piñas City Senior Citizens Receive 4th Quarter Social Pension Payout

Recently in the City of Las Piñas, almost one thousand and eight hundred senior citizens five barangays received their social pension payout for the 4th quarter, the City Government confirmed via social media. Mayor April Aguilar personally attended the distribution.

The first day of Social Pension Payout was happily held, where almost 1,800 senior citizens from the barangays of Almanza Dos, Almanza Uno, Talon Dos, Daniel Fajardo, and Ilaya received their 4th quarter social pension.

Our seniors received 3,000 pesos (1,000 pesos per month) for the last quarter of the year. Payout was held at the air-conditioned Aguilar Sports Complex to ensure a comfortable and smooth flow of the program, especially for our seniors.

Mayor April Aguilar wants this pension to be given immediately to be used for their daily needs, and most of all, so they can have something to use this coming Christmas.

Recently in the City of Las Piñas, more than seven hundred residents of Barangay Almanza Dos got served when the Health and Wellness Caravan was held in their local community, the City Government announced via social media.

The City of Las Piñas, through the City Health Office, brought its Health and Wellness Caravan to the TS Cruz Covered Court in Barangay Almanza Dos on Thursday, February 18. More than 700 residents benefitted from the free health services provided during the event.

Residents availed themselves of a range of medical services, including consultations, FBS/RBS testing, cholesterol examinations, blood typing, chest X-rays, ECG, dental services, and nutrition counseling. Other essential services such as risk assessments for non-communicable diseases, pneumococcal vaccination for senior citizens, mobile birth registration, and assistance with Green Card and PhilHealth registration were also offered.

Vice Mayor April Aguilar led the event, accompanied by City Councilors Mark Anthony Santos and Henry Medina. Their presence underscored the city’s continuous commitment to ensuring accessible healthcare services for all residents.

Recently in the City of Las Piñas, more than seven hundred people availed of the free services that were offered during the Health and Wellness Caravan held at the TS Cruz covered court, the City Government announced via social media. The caravan was organized by the local health office and was attended by Vice Mayor April Aguilar.

Over 700 residents of Barangay Almanza Dos benefitted from a Health and Wellness Caravan held at the TS Cruz Covered Court on Tuesday, September 10, providing a range of free health services aimed at promoting community health and well-being.

The event, organized by the City Health Office, featured services such as medical consultations, blood sugar (FBS/RBS) and cholesterol testing, blood typing, chest X-rays, ECG, and nutrition and counseling services. A highlight of the event was the presence of the Las Piñas Dental Health Bus, offering free oral examinations, oral health education, tooth extractions, oral prophylaxis, and the distribution of oral health kits. Senior citizens were given access to pneumococcal vaccines, and a Greencard Help Desk and PhilHealth registration were also made available.

City Vice Mayor April Aguilar and City Health Office OIC Dr. Juliana Gonzalez graced the event, ensuring the success of the outreach initiative that catered to the medical needs of numerous residents.

Recently in the City of Las Piñas, over a thousand senior citizens in two barangays were vaccinated for pneumonia as a result of the latest vaccination drive of the City Government, according to a Manila Bulletin news report.

The Las Piñas City Health Office (CHO) launched a pneumonia vaccination drive in two communities to safeguard the health of the city’s senior citizens on Wednesday, Jan. 24.

Las Piñas Vice-Mayor April Aguilar said the vaccination drive was held at Barangays Almanza Dos and Pamplona Tres with over 1,100 senior citizens getting the pneumonia vaccine.

Aguilar said the vaccination drive is part of the city’s ongoing effort to protect the elderly population who are vulnerable to respiratory diseases like pneumonia.

She said the initiative is especially crucial as pneumonia remains one of the leading causes of illness and death among senior citizens in the Philippines.

The vice-mayor who supervised the vaccination drive emphasized the local government’s commitment to the health and well-being of the senior residents.

Recently in Las Piñas City, a maid got arrested by the local police for allegedly stealing her superior’s cash and jewelry in the home, according to a Philippine Daily Inquirer (PDI) news report.

A house help was arrested in Las Piñas City after her boss discovered that she had stolen millions worth of cash, pieces of jewelry, and a watch, the police said on Thursday.

According to the Southern Police District (SPD), Las Piñas City Police Station personnel identified and apprehended suspect Rosanna Salvadora at her employer’s residence along Versailles Alabang Daang Hari, Almanza Dos last August 1.

Based on SPD’s report, the employer found that her safe went missing on the same day after coming home from work. The victim immediately turned to Salvadora and asked about the vault, who then pointed to the kitchen.

When the complainant found her safe, it was already forcefully opened and empty. Police said missing items include P1.5 million worth of cash, P1 million worth of watch, and P2.1 million worth of jewelry.

The employer immediately sought the assistance of the police, who immediately arrested the suspect.

A 25-year-old Filipina was arrested by a combined team of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA)-Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (IADITG) and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Las Piñas on Wednesday, Jan. 11.

Police said the suspect, identified as Jolle Ann Cuer, was arrested around 4:00 p.m. along Lotus St., TS Cruz Subdivision, Barangay Almanza Dos, Las Piñas City.

Members of the NAIA-IADITG and PDEA received information from a regular confidential informant that a shipment coming from Micheal Olanrewaju of 33 Wale Alomo Street, Ogba Yaya Abatan, Lagos State, Ogba, Nigeria will be sent to Cuer.

The shipment, with airway bill No.14 0876 2806, was declared as eight packs of Grandma Crunchy Chinchin, a crispy snack.

Police recovered from the suspect about 13,175 grams of shabu placed inside a 44 foil pouch worth P89,590,000,00 and four foil pouches of snacks.

The confiscated shabu was immediately submitted to PDEA Laboratory Service for qualitative and quantitative examination.

Two persons from South Korea wanted in their nation for alleged fraud were recently apprehended by elements of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in Las Piñas City, according to a Manila Bulletin news report.

Operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) have arrested two South Koreans who are wanted in their country for alleged fraud during a follow-up operation in Las Piñas City.

They were identified as Seol Kwangsu, 33, and Han Haneul, 28. They were arrested on at around 10 p.m. on May 19 in Barangay Almanza Dos.

“Both individuals are listed in the Interpol Red Notice for the alleged crime committed in their home country,” said Police Lt. Gen. Vicente Danao, officer-in-charge of the Philippine National Police.

Danao said the operation was based on the information shared by the Korean Desk and Fugitive Search Unit of the Bureau of Immigration (BI) launched the operation in Barangay Almanza Dos and arrested the foreign nationals who were accused of Fraud.

COVID-19 Crisis: Vaccination of senior citizens in Las Piñas City has begun

The City Government of Las Piñas announced that the vaccination of senior citizens for COVID-19 (China Virus) in their city has officially started on April 1, 2021 using vaccines sourced from AztraZeneca. They stated that they targeted 300 senior citizens to get injected at the vaccination sites at Verdant Covered Court, Bambusteum Cover Court and Almanza Dos Covered Court.
