The Las Piñas Health and Wellness Caravan, organized by the City Health Office, brought essential medical services to the residents of Pulanglupa Dos on Tuesday, December 3, at the St. Joseph Covered Court. The event catered to over 500 beneficiaries, furthering the city’s commitment to accessible healthcare.

Attendees were provided with free medical consultations, blood sugar and cholesterol testing, dental services, chest X-rays, and ECG tests. Senior citizens availed of pneumonia vaccinations, while free medicines, PhilHealth registration, and Green Card program assistance were made available. The City Agriculture Office also distributed vegetable seedlings to encourage nutrition and urban gardening as part of the initiative.

The City Health Office successfully held a Health and Wellness Caravan on Friday, September 20, at the Golden Acres Covered Court, offering free health services to more than 700 residents. The event aimed to bring essential medical services closer to residents, particularly those who may have difficulty accessing the free health centers and diagnostic facilities in Las Piñas.

City Vice Mayor April Aguilar attended the event, alongside City Health Office OIC Dr. Juliana Gonzalez, who led the caravan. The City Health Office, led by OIC Dr. Juliana Gonzalez, successfully conducted the “Buntis Congress” on Thursday, July 11, at the Almanza Uno Covered Court. The event saw the participation of more than 200 pregnant women who were eager to learn about various health and wellness topics critical for their journey to motherhood.

The event featured several educational lectures, including sessions on safe motherhood, responsible parenthood and family planning, health for mother and child through good diet and supplementation, and maintaining oral health during pregnancy and for the child. These sessions aimed to equip the attendees with valuable (knowledge) to ensure the well-being of both mother and child.

On Thursday, May 23rd, City Vice Mayor April Aguilar led the inauguration of the new CAA-C Health Center in Barangay BF International CAA, a significant development aimed at enhancing healthcare services in the area. City Health Office OIC Dr. Juliana Gonzalez was also present, highlighting the city’s commitment to accessible healthcare.

113 people avail of health services in Tahanan Village

This past Sunday (February 11) inside Tahanan Village, Barangay BF Homes, Parañaque City, over one hundred people availed of varied health services at the poolside area of the Tahanan Homeowners Association (THA) clubhouse as a result of the newest health check activity of the Century Club of Tahanan, Inc. (CCTI) headed by its President Florencia Umali.

According to Umali, a total of 113 people arrived, paid fees for the special health package or other individual health services, and then joined the lines to be served. The activity lasted from 5:30 AM to 10AM and blood test results will be released on February 18.

Several people availed of the special diagnostic package worth P350 which includes Electrocardiogram (ECG), fasting blood sugar (FBS), total cholesterol, blood urea nitrogen, uric acid, CBC, urinalysis, SGPT and free platelet count. There were other tests offered with prices ranging from P150 to P800.

When asked about when will the health check activity inside Tahanan Village happen next, the CCTI president said it might take place during the 3^rd quarter of 2024.

Recently in the City of Las Piñas, the local health programs of the City Government earned the recognition of the Department of Health (DOH), according to a Manila Bulletin news report.

The Las Piñas City government was recognized by the Department of Health Center for Health Development (DOH-CHD) for its outstanding health programs.

According to Mayor Imelda Aguilar, the city government received recognition for its effective implementation of the Adolescent Health Development Program and the National Immunization Program.

Aguilar said the DOH-CHD highlighted the city government’s proactive efforts in promoting youth health and enhancing immunization coverage against preventable diseases.

She said the city government also received recognition for the city’s dedication to maternal health through the National Safe Motherhood Program.

The mayor added that the city government was also commended for its significant contribution to disaster risk reduction and management in health for showing effective response in health emergencies.

Aguilar said the city was also recognized for its strides in rabies prevention, moving towards a “Rabies-Free Philippines by 2030.”

The city government was also recognized for its innovative health strategies and successful implementation of the Family Planning Program.

173 avail of Health Services in Tahanan Village

This past Sunday inside Tahanan Village, Barangay BF Homes in Parañaque City, several people converged at the area of the Tahanan Homeowners Association (THA) clubhouse by the poolside to avail of varied health services during the health check activity which was a special project of the Century Club of Tahanan, Inc. (CCTI) headed by its President Florencia Umali. According to Umali, the total number of patients present was at one hundred and seventy three (173).

Several patients paid P350 each for a diagnostic package that includes a free platelet count (for dengue test), ECG, FBS, BUN, SGPT, CBC, Uric Acid, Urinalysis and Total Cholesterol test. There were also other tests that were offered by health services provider Sto. Domingo Diagnostic & Medical Center Corp. during the activity such as Triglycerides for P150, Creatinine for P150, HBA 1C for P300, Chest X-Ray for P150 and TPAG for P200 to name some. Also present during the activity were personnel who prepared coffee, pandesal and a hot meal for the benefit of the patients. The health check test results are scheduled for release on October 22.

“We are very happy over the reception of this special project of our club and the fact that we were able to organize this after the COVID-19 pandemic,” CCTI President Flor Umali said. “The staff are very courteous and prompt with their work in serving the patients. We will have this health check activity again on February 11, 2024.”

Umali added that their local community health check project received valuable support from the Tahanan Village Board of Directors, Parañaque City Councilor Nina Sotto and Ryan Yllana, and from Barangay BF Homes Captain Paolo Marquez.

New diagnostic center in Las Piñas City inaugurated

Recently in Las Piñas City, a brand new diagnostic center located at the ground floor of the City Health Office within the area of City Hall was formally inaugurated by Mayor Imelda Aguilar and Vice Mayor April Aguilar according to the City Government’s social media post dated August 17. The new facility aims to provide free laboratory services for qualified patients of the city.

The first Las Piñas City Diagnostic Center of the City Government located at the ground floor of the City Health Office, in the vicinity of Las Piñas City Hall is now open for qualified residents.

This was after the presided by Las Piñas City Mayor Imelda Aguilar and Vice Mayor April Aguilar, the simple ceremony of the inauguration and blessing of such a diagnostic center this August 16.

This diagnostic center of the local government will provide better and free laboratory services including blood count, fasting blood sugar, cholesterol or lipid profile, uric acid, blood urea nitrogen, creatinine examination, urinalysis and 12-L-ECG.

The purpose of this is to lessen the burden of Las Piñeros who spend more money if necessary to undergo laboratory examinations.
