Two Chinese nationals arrested in Parañaque City for selling unregistered medicines

Recently in the City of Parañaque, two Chinese nationals were arrested by elements of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) for allegedly selling unregistered medicines, according to a Philippine News Agency (PNA) news article.

The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) have arrested two Chinese nationals allegedly involved in selling unregistered medicines in Metro Manila.

Agents of the CIDG-Detective and Special Operations Unit nabbed suspects Hu and Quan in a buy-bust at Concorde Village, Tambo, Parañaque City past midnight Saturday.

According to a news release Sunday, the CIDG agents confiscated two boxes of OTC 999 – Ganmaoling Keli, 20 boxes of Glucophage – Metformin Hydrochloride Extended-release tablets, two boxes of Amlodepine Besilate tablets, three boxes of Linou – Gliclazide tablets, two boxes of OTC – Longdan Xiegan pills, four boxes of Zhibai Dihuang pills, one box of Bear Bile powder, 12 boxes Diamicron – Gliclazide tablets and 16 boxes Bayaspirin – Aspirin Enteric-coated tablets.

The medicines, with an estimated market value of PHP15,000, are not registered with the Food and Drug Administration.

The suspects will be charged with violation of Section 11 of Republic Act 9711 (FDA Act of 2009) which prohibits manufacturing, importation, export, sale, distribution and transfer of unregistered drugs.

CIDG chief Brig. Gen. Nicolas Torre urged the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities related to the sale of unregistered medicines.

A fugitive woman, tagged as the No. 10 most wanted person by the police, was arrested in Muntinlupa on Feb. 1.

The Muntinlupa Police Warrant and Subpoena Unit arrested the suspect, identified as alias Evelyn, 55, a vendor, in Barangay Alabang for a drug case. Evelyn was listed as the No. 10 most wanted person at station level for the first quarter of 2025.

The warrant of arrest for service of sentence was issued by Acting Presiding Judge Desiree Gertrude Orquiola-Moldez of the Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court Branch 206 on Jan. 24.

Evelyn was arrested for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) under Section 13 (possession of dangerous drugs during parties, social gatherings, or meetings), and Section 14 (possession of equipment, instruments, apparatus, and other paraphernalia for dangerous drugs during parties, social gatherings, or meetings).

She is under the custody of the Muntinlupa Police pending the issuance of a commitment order from the court.

Chinese national arrested in Parañaque City for possessing illegal drugs and firearm replica

Recently in the city of Parañaque, the local police arrested a Chinese national who was carrying illegal substances and a firearm replica, according to a Manila Bulletin news report. The apprehension happened in Barangay Tambo.

A Chinese national was arrested by the Parañaque City Police for illegal possession of drugs and a replica gun on Friday, Dec. 13.

Southern Police District (SPD) director Brig. Gen. Bernard Yang identified the suspect as “Yuanbo,” 30. He was arrested by the Tambo Police Substation on D. Macapagal Boulevard in Barangay Tambo.

Yang said operatives from Tambo Police Substation were conducting routine patrol when they spotted the suspect on board an illegally parked white Toyota Vios.

Upon approaching the car, Yuanbo rudely instructed the officers to go away. This prompted them to ask for the suspect’s driver’s license and vehicle registration which he has none.

While inspecting Yuanbo’s car, the policemen recovered an airsoft gun between the driver and passenger seat of the vehicle as well as 11 grams of shabu worth P74,800 and a block of marijuana leaves worth P120,000.

Three Chinese nationals were arrested by members of the Parañaque City Police Sto. Nino Substation at a condominium in (Barangay) Don Galo, Parañaque City on Sunday night, Dec. 1.

The Southern Police District (SPD) said the suspects, identified as alias “Mao,” 41, alias “Wee,” 37, and alias “Hao,” 32, were arrested at around 7:10 p.m. for pointing a gun and threatening to kill a driver identified as alias “Dave,” 33.

Members of the Parañaque City Police Sto. Nino Substation responded after receiving a call from the security personnel of the condominium seeking police assistance.

The victim told the police that he was threatened at gun point by Mao who was being assisted by two other suspects during a heated argument.

The police recovered from Mao a 9mm pistol and one magazine with eight live ammunition.

Man suspected of robbery arrested in Las Piñas City

A robbery suspect was arrested during a manhunt operation conducted by members of the Las Piñas City Police Warrant and Subpoena Section and Station Intelligence Section against wanted persons on Monday, Nov. 18.

Las Piñas City Police chief Col. Sandro Tafalla said the suspect, identified as alias “Rodney,” 24, was arrested at around 10:40 a.m. in Barangay CAA, Las Piñas City.

Tafalla said the suspect who was placed as Top 2 wanted person under station level was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Victor Ramirez Aguba of the Las Piñas City Regional Trial Court, Branch 197 on October 16, 2024. He said Aguba recommended a bail of P100,000.

2024 Christmas party of Century Club of Tahanan, Inc. (CCTI) attended by hundreds of guests

On the evening of November 24 at the covered basketball court inside Tahanan Village, Barangay BF Homes, Parañaque City, the Century Club of Tahanan, Inc. (CCTI) had its annual Christmas party which was attended by lots of guests.

According to CCTI president Flor Umali, around eight hundred guests – including CCTI members and officials – attended. 600 were from Tahanan Village while roughly 200 others were from the adopted villages of Teoville, Maywood and partly from BF NorthWest.

The guests had a nice night of celebrating Christmas with a dinner buffet, musical performances and social interactions. Sponsored raffles and gifts given added excitement to the celebration as the party went on.

As with past Christmas parties of CCTI (click here and here), the local public servants and candidates (for the 2025 local elections) were in attendance and spent some time greeting the guests and sparing time to chat with them. Present were congressman Brian Yamsuan (running for Parañaque’s 2^nd district congressional seat), former City Councilor Benjo Bernabe (candidate for Parañaque Vice Mayor), former City Councilor Tess de Asis (running for the City Council), former City Councilor Binky Favis (also running for the City Council), City Councilor Tin Esplana, Barangay BF Homes captain Jeremy Marquez and Mayor Eric Olivarez.

Olivarez gave the guests an update about what has been happening in the city. Like in his previous attendance of CCTI Christmas parties, he performed a dance to delight the audience. Olivarez will be running for Parañaque’s 1^st district congressional seat which he previously occupied from 2013 to 2022.

With regards to what people can expect next from the Century Club of Tahanan, Inc. in the near future, their president said that the next health check activity might happen in February 2025. Watch out for future updates from the CCTI.

Woman stabbed to death in Las Piñas City, former husband arrested

Members of the Las Piñas City Police arrested the former husband of an entertainer who was found dead at an open field in Las Piñas City on Monday, Nov. 18.

Las Piñas City Police chief Col. Sandro Tafalla said the suspect, identified as alias “Dennis,” was arrested after he was pinpointed by a witnesses as the last person seen with the victim, identified as alias “Janilyn.”

Tafalla said Dennis was arrested at around 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 19 at the house of the victim on P. Manahan St., Pasay City.

He said a security guard of Fine Property reported to the police that he heard a commotion in an open field in Gatchalian Road, Barangay Manuyo Dos at around 12:00 noon on Monday.

The witness said a male person wearing a blue half face helmet, black jacket, and maong pants on board a blue /red motorcycle was with the victim during the commotion.

Responding police officers found the body of the victim with multiple stab wounds in the different parts of the body and rushed her to Las Piñas District Hospital for treatment but was declared dead.

The police recovered a broken cellular phone at the crime scene and discovered that the victim’s last conversation was with Dennis.

Tafalla said a Shopee delivery called up the cellular phone of the victim leading to Janilyn’s identity who was first declared as unidentified.

The Parañaque City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) arrested two high value individuals (HVIs) wanted for illegal drugs in a buy-bust operation in Parañaque City on Sunday, November 17.

Southern Police District (SPD) director BGen. Bernard Yang identified the suspects as “Tony,” 52, and “Florentino,” 47. They were arrested in Barangay San Dionisio.

The duo yielded P170,000 worth of shabu and a .45 caliber pistol with live ammunition. An additional P510,000 worth of shabu was also recovered from the suspects.

Five kilos of shabu with an estimated value of P34 million were recovered when anti-narcotics agents raided the house of a suspected drug dealer in Las Piñas City on Saturday.

Armed with a search warrant issued by a Las Piñas court, agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) raided a condominium building along Alabang-Zapote Road in Barangay Almanza Uno.

The anti-narcotics operation targeted two high-value suspects. One of them, identified as Kenneth Bandong, 30, was arrested. Bandong’s cohort, a woman, was not around during the raid.

PDEA agents said they found five kilos of shabu in the condominium unit. Bandong is facing cases for illegal drug possession under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.

Three foreign nationals were arrested in a shooting incident that wounded a Chinese national in Parañaque City, the Southern Police District (SPD) said on Thursday.

In a report, SPD Director Brig. Gen. Bernard Yang identified the suspects as alias Shi, 31, and alias Sui, 33, both Chinese nationals, and alias Edwin, 39, a Cameroonian.

They were arrested after a shooting incident occurred at a residential complex in Barangay Don Galo on Wednesday morning.

The victim, a money changer employee residing in the complex, identified as alias Li, a 35-year-old Chinese national, sustained gunshot wounds and is currently receiving medical treatment at the San Juan De Dios Hospital in Pasay City.

He identified the suspects to the police, leading to a swift operation that resulted in the arrest of Shi, Sui, and Edwin.

During the arrest of the suspects, operatives seized 200 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of PHP1.2 million, a 9mm Glock 19 pistol, one magazine, ten live ammunition, two empty shells, one bullet slug, three butane gas canisters, and two pointed weapons.
