Online seller and two others apprehended in Parañaque City for selling illegal substance

Recently in the City of Parañaque, a successful buy-bust operation by the local police resulted in the arrests of an online seller and two others for selling shabu, according to a Manila Bulletin news report. The suspects were apprehended within Barangay San Dionisio.

A woman online seller and two others were arrested by members of the Parañaque City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) for selling shabu during a buy-bust operation conducted on Tuesday, March 5.

The Southern Police District (SPD) identified the suspects as alias Weng, 30, an online seller; alias Jerico, 27; and alias Erwin, 40.

The SPD said the suspects were arrested at around 6:15 a.m. along Draga St., Barangay San Dionisio, Parañaque City.

The police said alias Weng and alias Jerico were tagged by the Parañaque city police as high value individuals (HVI) while alias Erwin was placed under Street Level Individual (SLI).

Recovered from the arrested suspects were 125 grams of shabu worth P850,000 and the P1,000 buy-bust money. The police said the recovered evidence from the suspect was turned over to the Southern Police District Forensic Unit (SPDFU) for analysis.

Suspect behind the murder of a woman in Parañaque City surrenders

Recently in the City of Parañaque, a woman (mother of two) was shot dead by a gunman in front of a coffee shop in Barangay San Dionisio. Shortly after the killing, the suspect surrendered voluntarily to the local authorities, according to a Manila Bulletin news report.

The suspect in the shooting to death of a 43-year-old woman in front of a coffee shop in Parañaque City on Feb. 15 voluntary surrendered to the police on the same day.

According to the Southern Police District (SPD), the suspect identified as alias “Cafgu” voluntary surrendered to the officers of San Dionisio Police Substation at around 11:00 p.m.

The SPD said the suspect was accompanied by his relatives when he yielded to the police. He was immediately turned over the Parañaque Police Investigation Section.

The police filed a murder case against the suspect for killing Yolanda, 43, at around 6:00 p.m. in front of a coffee shop on Palanyag Road in Gatchalian, Barangay San Dionisio, Parañaque City.

The victim was with her two sons and was about to board their car when the suspect approached and shot her several times in the head.

Yolanda was declared dead on arrival at the Olivarez Hospital.

Police investigators said the two sons of the victim positively identified the suspect as the one who shot their mother.

During investigation, police learned the suspect’s licenses to own and possess firearms had expired on March 11, 2022.

A man was shot dead while waiting for his dinner to be served in front of a restaurant in Parañaque City, Thursday night, Feb. 15.

The victim, identified as alias Jun, was shot dead at around 7:45 p.m. in front of a restaurant located along E. Rodriguez St., Barangay Baclaran, Parañaque City.

Parañaque City police chief Col. Reycon Garduque said the victim reportedly ordered food and was waiting for it to be served when an unidentified man approached him and shot him twice at the back of his head.

Garduque said the victim died on the spot due to two gunshot wounds.

He said the victim was reportedly working as an E-Trike driver. He was previously detained for his alleged involvement in illegal drug activities.

The gunman was reportedly wearing a black jacket, black cap, and shorts.

Recently in the city of Parañaque, local law enforcers armed with a warrant of arrest apprehended a man in Barangay San Dionisio in relation to charges of four counts of rape, according to a Manila Bulletin news report. The suspect has since been detained at a local police facility.

A courier facing charges for four counts of rape was arrested by members of the Parañaque City police Warrant and Subpoena Unit (WSU) on Monday, Feb. 5.

The Southern Police District reported the arrest of alias Arnold, 32, tagged by the police as the No. 1 wanted person under station level at around 2:15 p.m. along Barangay San Dionisio, Parañaque City. 

Members of the WSU arrested the suspect by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Moises Domingo De Castro of Family Court Branch 10, Parañaque City, on Jan. 17, 2024, for four counts of rape.

De Castro recommended a bail of P200,000 for each count.

Recently in the city of Parañaque, local police officers arrested a Chinese national for illegally possessing two guns and several pieces of ammunition, according to a Manila Bulletin news report. The arrest took place in Barangay Don Galo.

A Chinese national was arrested by members of the Parañaque City Police Sto. Nino Substation after he was caught in possession of two .45-caliber pistols on Wednesday, Dec. 20.

Police said the suspect, identified as “Jung”, was nabbed at around 12:50 a.m. in front of a hotel on Macapagal Boulevard in Barangay Don Galo, Parañaque City.

A concerned citizen sought help from Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) officers after seeing the suspect with a gun while on board a pickup truck. They then asked for assistance from the police to apprehend Jung.

The police said that upon their arrival in the area, the suspect immediately threw his gun into the back of his vehicle.

The suspect was arrested after police recovered from him two .45-caliber pistols with 13 live bullets.

He was immediately brought and detained at the Parañaque Police custodial facility.

A Vietnamese national was arrested by members of the  Parañaque City Police Station Drug and Enforcement Unit (SDEU) in a buy-bust operation on Wednesday, Nov. 22.

The Southern Police District (SPD) said the suspect was identified as a certain Le. He was arrested at around 8:85 p.m. along Macapagal Boulevard, Barangay Tambo, Parañaque City.

Recovered from him were five grams of shabu worth P34,000; three plastic sachets containing 18 tablets suspected to be ecstasy worth P30,000, and three grams of powdered ketamine worth P15,000.

The recovered drugs were turned over to the SPD Forensic Unit for quantitative and qualitative analysis.

Recently in the City of Parañaque, three Chinese nationals were arrested for causing trouble (note: alarm and scandal), according to a Manila Bulletin news report. The incident happened in Barangay Tambo and someone alerted the local authorities.

Three Chinese nationals engaged in a fist fight and causing trouble were arrested on Wednesday, Nov. 22.

The suspects were identified as alias Lin, 22; Mi, 30; and Li, 37. 

The police said the suspects were arrested at around 3:17 a.m. in front of a KTV Bar located along Quirino Avenue, Barangay Tambo, Parañaque City.

The police said a certain Denson chanced upon the suspects engaged in a fist fight and causing trouble in front of a KTV Bar.

Denson told the police that he tried to pacify the suspects but they continued with their unruly behavior that prompted him to call for assistance from barangay watchmen Percival Narag and  Renato Mendoza.

Recently in the city of Parañaque, two Chinese nationals and their local cohorts were arrested for allegedly committing carnapping, according to a Manila Bulletin news report.

A Filipino businesswoman, her cohort and two Chinese men were arrested for alleged carnapping on Sunday, Nov. 12, in Parañaque City.

According to the Southern Police District (SPD), the suspects were identified as “Krizzia,” 27, businesswoman; “Leavida,” 28; “Xing,” 32, businessman, and “Huang,” 39.

The suspects were arrested at around 11:40 p.m. at Casiana Residences in Barangay Tambo, Parañaque City.

The report showed that the suspects were spotted by the condominium’s officer-in-charge (OIC) on board a stolen vehicle, a black BMW X-3, which was reported missing on Nov. 2.

The condominium OIC immediately flagged down the vehicle and called for police assistance, leading to their arrest.

They were brought to the police custodial facility for detention.

Local authorities raid Parañaque POGO, alleged prostitution den uncovered

Recently in the City of Parañaque, elements of the Southern Police District and Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) raided an illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) establishment resulting in the arrests of suspects and the discovery of what could be a prostitution den, according to a GMA Network news report. The raid was done due to the POGO’s lack of a license to operate.

An alleged prostitution den was discovered during a raid in an illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) establishment in Parañaque City on Wednesday, authorities said.

The Southern Police District and Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) raided the POGO hub due to lack of license to operate, Nico Waje reported on Unang Balita.

“While doing the inspection, nakita nga namin iyong prostitution den (we saw the prostitution den),” PAOCC executive director Undersecretary Gilbert Cruz said.

“Kung mapapansin niyo, mayroon mga babae na nandoon and they have rooms na ginagamit nila sa prostitution (If you notice, there were women there and they have rooms that were being used for prostitution),” he added.

The women, who are all Filipinos, said they are offering only massage services.

In the parking lot on the seventh floor of the building, private rooms and spa rooms were discovered aside from computers and gaming consoles.

The operation on other floors has a license but the workers, most of them Chinese, failed to present proper documents like passports, according to the PAOCC.

Cruz said the workers said their bosses were holding their passports.

With a total of 2,000 workers, the POGO hub declared only 900 of them to the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR).

Two Chinese nationals who manage the POGO hub were arrested, according to Unang Balita.

In a statement, the SPD said at least 16 employees alleged to be victims of human trafficking were rescued in the operation.

The PAOCC is looking into the possible closure of the establishment due to violations of human trafficking, labor, and immigration laws.

Meanwhile, the Bureau of Immigration is set to visit the area for the profiling of the POGO workers.

Recently in the city of Parañaque, a man entered a police sub-station in Barangay Tambo pretending to be a member of the Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (ISAFP) and the Military Intelligence Group (MIG) and eventually got arrested when the ID cards he submitted were found to be fake, according to a Manila Bulletin news report. This is a case of the usurpation of authority (for past cases, click here and here).

A man posing as a member of the Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (ISAFP) and the Military Intelligence Group (MIG) was arrested in Parañaque City on Oct. 18.

According to the report of the Parañaque City Police submitted to the Southern Police District (SPD), the suspect appeared at Tambo police substation together with three Chinese nationals at around 8:40 p.m. to report an incident.

The suspect identified himself as member of ISAFP and MIG when questioned by police.

He presented an AFP ID and MIG ID, but the police discovered the IDs were fake.

The police said the suspect confessed that he is not a member of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).

The suspect was immediately brought to the Station Investigation and Detective Management Section (SIDMS) custodial facility where he was detained.

The police filed a case of violation of usurpation of authority against the suspect.
