Recently in the city of Parañaque, two security guards caught a man cutting telecommunication cable wires resulting in his arrest, according to a Manila Bulletin news report. The suspect will be charged for with theft and violation of Republic Act No. 10515.
To put things in perspective, posted below is an excerpt from the news report of the Manila Bulletin. Some parts in boldface…
A 32-year-old man was arrested after two security guards caught him cutting telecommunication cable wires in Parañaque on July 29.
The Southern Police District (SPD) identified the suspect as Jospeh, a resident of Valenzuela City. He was nabbed at around 3:15 a.m. on West Service Road in front of Detapas Market Place in Barangay Marcelo Green, Parañaque City.
The SPD stated that two patrolling security guards spotted the suspect cutting telecommunication cable wire, prompting them to apprehend him. He was turned over to the Parañaque City Marcelo Green Police Substation.
Recovered from the suspect were aerial copper cable, two pieces of PLDT closure, and various tools used in the theft, including a kitchen knife, a wood saw, a metal paper cutter, pliers, and small knife, and a backpack.
Let me end this post by asking you readers: What do you think about this recent development? If you are a resident of Parañaque, were there any instances of people cutting telecommunication cable wires within your local community over the past six months? Do you think crime in Parañaque is getting worse in recent times?
