Recently in the City of Muntinlupa, the City Government officially started distributing free school supplies and shoes to public school students – early education to senior high school – in preparation for the new school year of 2025-2026, according to a Manila Bulletin news report.

The Muntinlupa City government has started the distribution of free Balik Eskwela packages to public school students.

Mayor Ruffy Biazon visited schools to distribute the free school supplies and shoes, which will benefit nearly 100,000 public school students from early education to senior high school.

Each Balik Eskwela package contains backpacks, notebooks, pad papers, pens and pencils, pencil case and black leather shoes.

This is the third year that the Biazon administration will give free school supplies to public school students in Muntinlupa.

“Ginagawa natin ang lahat para masuportahan ang kinabukasan ng kabataang Muntinlupeño. Kaya yearly din ang distribution natin ng Balik Eskwela packages bilang tulong sa mga gastusin ng mga pamilya at paghahanda ng mga estudyante sa panibagong school year (We are doing everything we can to support the future of Muntinlupeño youth. That is why we also distribute Balik Eskwela packages annually to help families with their expenses and prepare students for the new school year),” Biazon posted on Facebook.

Recently in the City of Muntinlupa, the newly re-elected Mayor Ruffy Biazon announced that there will be free school supplies and shoes for the incoming public school students (early childhood education to senior high school level specifically) for school year 2025-2026 provided by the City Government, according to a Manila Bulletin news report.

Muntinlupa Mayor Ruffy Biazon announced that all incoming public school students from early childhood education to senior high school will again receive free school supplies and shoes.

He said the Muntinlupa City government will provide the free Balik Eskwela packages for public school students for school year 2025 to 2026.

Alam nating malaki ang gastos tuwing pasukan, kaya’t layunin nating matulungan ang mga magulang at tiyaking handa ang bawat batang Muntinlupeño sa pagbabalik-eskwela (We know that the expenses every start of schooling are big, so our goal is to help parents and ensure that every Muntinlupeño child is ready to return to school),” he said.

This is the third consecutive year that the Muntinlupa City government under the Biazon administration will give free school supplies to public school students.

Each Balik Eskwela package contains backpacks, notebooks, pad papers, pens and pencils, pencil case and black leather shoes. The packages have variations depending on the grade level.

The distribution schedule of the free Balik Eskwela packages will be announced later.

Recently in the City of Muntinlupa, the City Government formally started the distribution of free school supplies for the benefit of roughly one hundred thousand public school students, according to a Manila Bulletin news report. The school supplies include bags, notebooks, crayon sets, pencils, pens, and paper to name some.

The Muntinlupa City government started the distribution of free school supplies to public school students on July 23 to support education and ease the financial burden of families.

Around 98,000 public school students in Muntinlupa will each receive a Balik Eskwela Package from the city government.

Each package consists of a school bag, notebooks, a set of crayons, pencils or pens, pad paper, and “MUNwalk” sneakers for Kindergarten to Grade 12 students. The sneakers will be given to the students in August.

For daycare students, the package includes a school bag, notebooks, jumbo pencils, pad paper, a box of crayons, and a water tumbler.

Mayor Ruffy Biazon visited public schools to lead the distribution of the free school supplies. .

“This distribution is more than just providing school supplies; it’s about showing our students and their families that we are here to support their educational journey every step of the way. We believe that every child deserves the tools they need to succeed, and we are committed to making that a reality,” said Biazon during the distribution at Tunasan National High School..

Parent Mylene Gratil, whose children were among the first batch to receive their free Balik Eskwela packages, expressed gratitude to the program:

“Malaking tulong po ang Balik Eskwela package para sa aking tatlong anak. Lahat po sila makatatanggap ng school supplies at sapatos (The Balik Eskwela package is a big help for my three children. They will all receive school supplies and shoes),” she said.

Biazon emphasized that education is a priority of his administration under the 7K Agenda. Besides the free school supplies, the city provides assistance through scholarships, with more than 80,000 students regularly receiving financial and educational aid.

“Lagi nating paalala sa kabataan, ‘wag sayangin ang pagkakataong ito. Sa Muntinlupa, prayoridad ang edukasyon. Naniniwala tayo na ang magandang edukasyon ay susi sa kinabukasan (We should always remind the youth not to waste this chance. In Muntinlupa, education is a priority.  We believe that good education is key to the future),” the mayor said.

Recently in the progressive City of Muntinlupa, the City Government announced that it will soon release free rubber shoes to public school students as the next school year approaches, according to a Manila Bulletin news report.

The Muntinlupa City government will give free rubber shoes to students in public schools for the next school year that will start in July.

Mayor Ruffy Biazon announced that the free rubber shoes will be an addition to the city government’s Balik Eskwela Package, which was launched last year.

Last year’s package contained school bags, school supplies and leather shoes, which was given for free to public school students from kindergarten to Grade 12.

“Last school year, tinupad natin ang commitment nating wala nang ‘sana all’ (Last school year, we fulfilled our commitment that there would no longer be ‘sana all’).  Around 100,000 public school students were provided with a free balik eskwela package, mula daycare, elementary, junior hanggang sa senior high school,” said Biazon in his recent State of the City Address.

“Sana all” is a Filipino-English expression of being envious with the hope that everyone will have the same experience.

“Lahat ng binigay natin, from school bags to school supplies and leather shoes, ay high quality. Gusto natin sa Muntinlupa, happy ang mga bata. Gusto natin ganado silang mag-aral (All that we gave, from school bags to school supplies and leather shoes, were high quality. We want that in Muntinlupa, all children are happy),” he added.

Recently in the progressive City of Muntinlupa, the City Government announced that it will be giving shoes, bags and supplies to local students enrolled in public schools via the Balik Eskwela Packages program, according to a Manila Bulletin news report.

The Muntinlupa City government will provide free Balik Eskwela Packages to all students from Kindergarten to Grade 12 in public schools.

Mayor Ruffy Biazon said each Balik Eskwela Package contains leather shoes, school bags and school supplies consisting of notebooks, pencils (for Kindergarten to Grades 1 to 3) and ball pens (for Grades 4 to 12).

In the past months, the Muntinlupa City government asked schools and teachers to submit the shoe sizes of their students.

The Balik Eskwela Packages will be distributed to the students at the start of classes this year.

Biazon said the packages are part of his Karunungan (Knowledge) component of his 7K Agenda which he announced during his State of the City Address last March.

He also thanked the City Council for passing the budget that included allotment for the Balik Eskwela Packages.
