COVID-19 Crisis: Muntinlupa City hired 3,761 displaced workers over the last three months of community quarantine
The City Government of Muntinlupa is committed to assist displaced workers in the city affected by the community quarantine through the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program and other employment initiatives.
Muntinlupa City Public Employment Service Office has recorded 3,761 beneficiaries employed through TUPAD since the first implementation of the community quarantine last March in Metro Manila.
TUPAD is a community-based package of assistance through the Department of Labor and Employment that provides emergency employment for displaced workers including transport drivers of tricycles, jeeps, and pedicabs for a minimum period of ten (10) days.
Muntinlupa Mayor Jaime Fresnedi said the local government recognizes the plight of daily earners and marginalized workers who have lost their jobs and whose livelihoods are affected by the community quarantine.
“The City Government of Muntinlupa will continue to assist our displaced workers in the city since they are one of the most hardly-hit sectors in the COVID-19 pandemic,” Fresnedi noted.
Beneficiaries were deployed to help in the city’s repacking and distribution of relief goods. Some displaced workers were assigned to participate in the disinfection/sanitation of their houses and immediate vicinity of their houses through the DOLE-TUPAD #Barangay Ko, Bahay Ko Disinfecting/Sanitation (#BKBK) Project.
Further, displaced seamstresses were also hired to produce face masks and personal protective equipment for frontliners and city residents.
A total of P21.018 million were allocated for the program with augmentation from the city’s Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, Gender and Development Office, Muntinlupa City Technical Institute, and Office of Congressman Ruffy Biazon.
TUPAD beneficiaries has rendered 15 working days in the program and received a salary of P537.00 per day. PESO Muntinlupa continues to facilitate the community-based employment program for city residents.

COVID-19 Crisis: Muntinlupa City Government announces designated PUV stops as LTFRB eyes resumption of traditional jeeps
The City Government of Muntinlupa announced the designated pick-up and drop-off points for public utility vehicles in the city’s major thoroughfares as the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board eyes to allow resumption of traditional jeepneys in Metro Manila next week.
Muntinlupa Traffic Management Bureau released a list of designated PUV stops along National Road and Alabang-Zapote Road which shall take effect immediately.

In an announcement, MTMB noted that the new scheme was crafted following a study conducted by the local bureau which aims to organize the public transportation system in the city.
Each stop will have signages informing commuters of their Current Stop, Next Stop, and Route Overview.
PUVs with Alabang-Tunasan via National Road route has 18 stops which include: Pacwood/Muntinlupa-Laguna Boundary, Villa Carolina I, RMT, St. Peregrine, Rodriguez (Tunasan Proper), SM Center Muntinlupa, Pepsi Plant, Sto. Niño Village, Hall of Justice, Centennial Ave., Poblacion, Bucal, City Hall, Soldiers’ Hills, Summitville, Purok 1 (Bayanan), Bautista Intersection, and Ayala Malls SouthPark.
While Alabang-Buencamino via Alabang-Zapote Road route has eight stops: Ospital ng Muntinlupa, Asian Hospital, RITM, Northgate, Alabang Town Center, Madrigal (Molito), Alabang Hills, and Buencamino. Pick-up and drop-off points in the three hospitals are only applicable for the free shuttle service of the City Government.
The two routes will both converge in Starmall Alabang as its central terminal.
The City Government continues to provide free shuttle for Authorized Persons Outside Residence and will ferry commuters using the designated PUV stops. A “no face mask, no ride” is being implemented while minors and senior citizens are still prohibited to ride in compliance with IATF guidelines.
Mayor Jaime Fresendi urged commuters to strictly observe physical distancing and other health protocols in all PUV stops.
Free shuttle service of e-jeeps for Muntinlupa residents starts at 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
As of June 24, Muntinlupa City has 351 confirmed cases with 240 recoveries, 74 active cases, 37 reported deaths, 65 suspect cases, and 298 probable cases.

COVID-19 Crisis: Muntinlupa puts third community in lockdown due to rise in COVID-19 cases
The City Government of Muntinlupa yesterday announced that placed the community in Barangay Putatan under lockdown, the third localized community quarantine in the city, due to an increase in the number of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases in the area.
Mayor Jaime Fresnedi approved Executive Order 22 s. 2020 ordering a 15-day Enhanced Localized Community Quarantine in Block 35 Excess Lot in Soldiers’ Hills Village in Brgy. Putatan which started June 23, 12:00 p.m. and will last until July 7, 11:59 a.m. The three roads leading to the community will also be closed.
As of June 21, the City Health Office has recorded 10 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the area, one of the city’s highest among local communities, with 8 active cases and 2 recoveries. The local health office also reported that they are awaiting the COVID-19 swab results of 8 probable cases.
CHO has recorded clustering of cases in Block 35 Excess Lot, a congested community with 219 families. The community has a narrow doubling time at 4.82 days, which refers to the number of days for local coronavirus cases to double in number, and high attack rate at 11.5 per 1,000 individuals.
Residents in the compound have been advised to buy essential goods including food, medicine, basic supplies such as diapers, and infant formula, among others. While the local government will provide additional relief food packs and other basic supplies during the effectivity of the lockdown.
The local health office will also conduct mass testing in the community and will intensify its detection, isolation, and treatment strategies.
Block 35 Excess Lot is the third community to be put under extreme localized quarantine in Muntinlupa. Other communities include Sitio Pagkakaisa Zone 3 Interior in Brgy. Sucat until June 26 and Morning Breeze Homes in Alabang from June 3 to 16.
Muntinlupa Mayor Jaime Fresnedi asks for the cooperation of residents from Block 35 Excess Lot to observe health protocols such as frequent hand-washing, wearing of face masks, and physical distancing.
Further, a 40-bed quarantine facility was turned over to the City Government of Muntinlupa on Tuesday to augment efforts in curbing COVID-19 in the city. The facility was donated by Reckitt Benckiser Philippines Inc.
Muntinlupa City has 345 confirmed cases with 229 recoveries, 80 active cases, 36 reported deaths, 52 suspect cases, and 305 probable cases as of June 22.

COVID-19 Crisis: Cashless Transaction in Public Transportation for Muntinlupa Frontliners and Government Employees Confirmed

Yesterday the City Government of Muntinlupa confirmed that frontliners and government employees in their city will benefit from cashless transactions with regards to public transportation as a result of a strategic partnership with a private sector member.
The strategic partner here is Star 8 Green Technology Corporation which donated five hundred tap cards to the city frontliners and government employees. The executives of Star 8 turned over tap cards with P50 worth of stored value for cashless transactions in their company’s electric jeepneys (e-jeepneys) servicing the route along Alabang-Zapote Road.
The Star 8 tap cards will be distributed to health workers in Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM), Ospital ng Muntinlupa, and employees from the City Government of Muntinlupa.

Those who attended the turn-over ceremony were Star 8 chief operating officer Netanel Kremer and head sales Cyril Aguadera, Muntinlupa Traffic Management Bureau chief Danidon Nolasco, and OsMun director Dr. Edwin Dimatatac.
Recently, the corporation provided ten e-jeepneys to service two routes in Muntinlupa to help stranded frontliners and government employees during the general community quarantine.
