Man arrested at Ipil Site, Barangay BF Homes, Parañaque City for possession of illegal drugs

The Manila Bulletin recently published a news report about the arrest of a suspect that happened within Barangay BF Homes in Parañaque City. The catch here is that the suspect was initially apprehended for violating face mask rules only to be discovered to possess illegal drugs worth hundreds of thousands of Pesos. This is the third consecutive drug-related crime report set within Parañaque City (note: click here and here) published this month.

To put things in perspective, posted below is the excerpt from the Manila Bulletin news report. Some parts in boldface…

A cellphone technician initially apprehended for not wearing a face mask was found in possession of P340,000 worth of shabu in Paranaque City on Thursday night.

Col. Maximo Sebastian, the city police chief, said the suspect identified as Angelo Bartolay, 32, was apprehended at about 6:20 p.m. at Ipil Site, Delarama Compound, BF Homes, Paranaque City.

Sebastian said patrol cops were conducting “Oplan Galugad” and implementing the health and safety protocols when they spotted the suspect aimlessly roaming around without a face mask.

He said the cops called the attention of the suspect, but the latter tried to escape.

The police cornered him but he became unruly when he was being issued with a citation ticket. He was brought to the Paranaque City Police Station.

The above report ended stating that the police recovered fifty grams of shabu.

Two suspects arrested over P1.3 million worth of illegal drugs in Parañaque City

Recently in Parañaque City, another buy-bust operation organized by law enforcers resulted the arrest of two persons and the confiscation of illegal substances worth over a million pesos according to a news report published by the Manila Bulletin. The arrest happened on the evening of October 13 within the jurisdiction of Barangay San Antonio.

To put things in perspective, posted below is an excerpt from the Manila Bulletin’s news report. Some parts in boldface…

An online seller and her cohort were arrested after they yielded some P1.3 million worth of shabu during a police buy-bust operation in Paranaque City, Wednesday night.

Southern Police District (SPD) director Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg identified the suspects as Hanan Tampipi, 19, an online seller and resident of San Pedro, Laguna; and Norayna Nanding, 19, of Paranaque City.

Operatives from the SPD-District Drug Enforcement Unit (DDEU), Muntinlupa and Paranaque Police Stations launched an entrapment operation against the two suspects at about 6 p.m. in Barangay San Antonio.

Macaraeg said the two women were cuffed after they sold about 200 grams of shabu in six transparent sachets to a poseur-buyer.

Entrapment operation in Muntinlupa City results arrest of suspect

Better be defensive and careful because there are criminal elements around even during this time of COVID-19 pandemic. This past Monday in Muntinlupa City, someone got arrested for robbery extortion as a result of an entrapment operation according to a news report by the Manila Bulletin.

To put things in perspective, posted below is an excerpt from the Manila Bulletin’s report. Some parts in bold face…

A woman was arrested by the Muntinlupa police after duping a security guard into paying for a fake property.

The Southern Police District (SPD) identified the suspect as Catherine Gumarang, 40, who was arrested in an entrapment operation by the Muntinlupa police intelligence section in front of SM Center Muntinlupa in Brgy. Tunasan Monday.

Gumarang was arrested after security guard Phil Jun Yu sought the help of the police. According to Muntinlupa police chief Col. Melecio Buslig, Yu paid P50,000 to Gumarang for a house that she allegedly was selling but he discovered that it was already sold to another claimant identified as Merry Love Fernandez.

The suspect called Yu and asked him to pay for the remaining P50,000 balance. Yu went to the police for assistance to arrest Gumarang.

The police recovered P5,000 entrapment money from Gumarang, who was turned over to the Muntinlupa police criminal investigation unit for documentation.

Gumarang was previously arrested along with four others for the same offense in Sta. Mesa, Manila in March, 2018.

The above report ended stating that the Muntinlupa City police will file a complaint of robbery extortion against the suspect.

Let me end this piece by asking you readers: Did you notice any extortionists or scammers in your local community lately? If you have enough money and you want to buy a property, do you know anyone legitimate to contact and make deals with?

You may answer in the comments below. If you prefer to answer privately, you may do so by sending me a direct message online.

Motorist charged for cursing and hitting police officers in Muntinlupa City

We sure live in a very divided world. Way over there in America, the hate-driven, terrorist-loving (click here and here), racist Marxist movement Black Lives Matter (BLM) hate the police so much they are actually empowering criminals, endangering the innocent and tearing down their society. No matter what the BLM and its fanatics shout about, the police will always be essential.

On police matters right here in the Philippines, a news report published by the Philippine News Agency (PNA) caught my attention as something happened within the jurisdiction of Muntinlupa City and the chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP) issued a statement about it. As of this writing, this news has been publicized by local media outlets.

To put things in perspective, posted below is an excerpt from the PNA article. Some parts in boldface…

The man who assaulted police officers and traffic enforcers in Muntinlupa will face various charges, Philippine National Police (PNP) chief, Gen. Guillermo Eleazar said on Friday.

In a statement, Eleazar said the suspect identified as Franz Luke Orbos will face criminal charges, including alarm and scandal, resistance and disobedience to a person in authority or agents, and direct assault.

In a viral video, Orbos was seen shouting and cursing at law enforcers who apprehended him as his parked vehicle blocked traffic along Susana Heights Road in Barangay Tunasan.

He remained uncooperative and resistant even after he was handcuffed. He was allegedly under the influence of alcohol during the incident.

Meanwhile, Eleazar commended the police officers for calmly dealing with Orbos’ rowdy behavior.

And below is a news video from News5.

This past Saturday, the Manila Bulletin reported that the motorist has been released from detention as ordered by the prosecutor of Muntinlupa City. A preliminary investigation has been set for July 30, 2021.

Let me end this piece by asking you readers: What do you think about this news? Are you always respectful towards police officers?

You may answer in the comments below. If you prefer to answer privately, you may do so by sending me a direct message online.

Gang of six – mostly Chinese – arrested in Parañaque City for kidnap attempt

Criminal activities in Parañaque City involving Chinese nationals (to understand the trend click here, here, here and here) continued as a gang of six people – one local citizen and the rest were Chinese nationals – were arrested by the local police for attempting to kidnap a 23-year-old Chinese national (working for an Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator or POGO) this past Thursday according to a report published by the Philippine News Agency (PNA).

It is notable that none other than Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Guillermo Eleazar himself gave statements about what happened in Parañaque City. To put things in perspective, below is an excerpt from the news report. Some parts in boldface…

Five Chinese nationals and a Filipino were arrested for attempting to kidnap their compatriot in Parañaque City on Thursday.

Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Guillermo Eleazar identified the suspects as Li Yang, Zhou Hao, Liu Jie Yong, Zhang Jia Hao, Qui You Bo, all Chinese nationals; and their Filipino driver Nelson Malavega.

Citing a report from the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), Eleazar said the victim, a 23-yearold male Chinese worker of a Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO), was approached by the suspects after he alighted from a transport network vehicle service in a hotel in Aseana, Barangay Tambo at around 1:40 p.m.

After a heated argument, the victim was forcibly taken by the suspects aboard a Toyota Hi-Ace van.

The commotion caught the attention of hotel security personnel who immediately reported the incident to the Sub Station 2 of Parañaque City Police Station.

Duty personnel who responded to the incident immediately intercepted the suspects’ vehicle and rescued the victim.

Initial reports said the victims owed a debt worth PHP750,000.

Here is a related news video by GMA Network…

Going back to the PNA article, PNP Chief Eleazar expressed gratitude as their community of police officers quickly responded and successfully rescued the victim from the kidnappers.

Let me end this piece by asking you readers: If you are living in Parañaque City, do you believe that Chinese nationals are causing trouble in your local community? Are you concerned that POGOs within Parañaque are adding to illegal activities?

If ever you spot an act of kidnapping in person (regardless of nationality), are you willing to report the incident to the local police?

You may answer in the comments below. If you prefer to answer privately, you may do so by sending me a direct message online.

COVID-19 Crisis: Many caught violating face mask ordinance in Muntinlupa City

In accordance to the recent order by President Rodrigo Duterte, the police officers in Muntinlupa intensified their implementation of an existing city ordinance on the wearing of face masks outside residence within the city’s jurisdiction.

The result? Over a thousand people were caught by the police last Friday for violating the said ordinance according to the report of the Manila Bulletin.

To put things in perspective, posted below is the excerpt from the May 8, 2021 report of the Manila Bulletin…

The Muntinlupa police apprehended on Friday 1,326 persons, mostly minors, for violating the city ordinance on the mandatory wearing of face masks outside residence.

Of the total violators, 1,281, or 97 percent, were minors and only 45, or 3 percent, were adults. They were all caught without detention as mandated by City Ordinance 2020-109.

The police’s move came after President Rodrigo Duterte ordered the police Wednesday to arrest people who are caught not wearing face masks properly.

The 1,281 minors who were caught by the police were given warning.

Under the ordinance, if the violator is a minor, a stern warning is imposed for the first offense, withdrawal of scholarship grant from the local government or P300 fine for non-grantee for the second offense, and P500 for third and subsequent offenses. The fines will be imposed on their parents or guardians.

On the other hand, the 45 adults were fined P300 each for the first offense. If they are caught again, they will face a P500 fine for the second offense and P1,000 for the third and subsequent offenses.

The ordinance does not impose any jail time for violators.

An individual inside a private enclosed vehicle is exempted from wearing a face mask but it is mandatory when there are at least two persons in the vehicle.

The ordinance, approved in July last year, requires all persons in Muntinlupa “to wear face masks at all times outside of their residences, at the workplace, when entering government buildings and offices, and while in public places.”

It defines face mask as any “protective clothing or material used to cover the nose, mouth and chin with specifications and proper use as recommended by the Department of Health (DOH), including, but not limited to, surgical masks, medical masks, N95 masks, ear loop masks, indigenous, reusable and do-it-yourself masks.”

Mayor Jaime Fresnedi has urged the public to wear face masks and face shields, and observe physical distancing when outside their residence.

As seen in the above news and details, wearing a face mask properly is a must in Muntinlupa City.

Let me end this piece by asking you readers: What do you think about the Manila Bulletin report? Have you been wearing your face mask properly? Are you ready to visit Muntinlupa City soon?

You may answer in the comments below. If you prefer to answer privately, you may do so by sending me a direct message online.
